Eligibility: Candidates must have passed 10+2 (Senior Secondary-Class XII) examination or its equivalent referred to as a qualifying examination from a recognized Board/ University for admission to BE/ BTech, BArch & B Planning Courses as under: (1) Courses BE/ BTech, Compulsory subjects: Physics & Mathematics, One of the Optional Subjects: Chemistry, Bio-Technology, Computer Science, Biology and (2) For Courses BArch/ BPlanning, Compulsory subjects: Physics & Mathematics, One of the Optional Subjects: Chemistry, Computer Science, Biology, Engineering Drawing. The candidates appearing in 10+2 (Class XII) final or equivalent examination may also appear in AIEEE provisionally subject to their fulfilling the specified eligibility conditions at the time of appearing for counselling. Admission to AIEEE is meant for Indian nationals only. Date of Birth: Only those candidates whose date of birth falls on or after October 01, 1981 are eligible. In the case of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Physically Challenged candidates, upper age limit is relaxed by five years meaning thereby candidates born on or after October 01, 1976 are eligible.
How To Apply: Cost of Examination Bulletin inclusive of examination fee: Rs. 300/- for General category and Rs. 150/- for SC/ST candidates. The Information Bulletin containing the Application Form and other details will be available for sale from 05th Dec 2005 to 10th Jan 2006 from designated branches of Syndicate Bank/ other Banks/ NITs/ Deemed Universities/ institutions and the Regional Offices of CBSE. In addition to the cost of Information Bulletin, the designated branches of Syndicate Bank or designated Institutions would charge Re 5/- extra as service/ processing charges. The Information Bulletin containing Application Form can also be had by post by sending a MICR Bank Draft of Rs. 350/- for General Category and Rs. 200/- for SC/ST category (which includes Rs. 50/- towards postal charges) along with a self-addressed envelope of the size of 12″x10″ (without postage stamps) from the Joint Secretary (AIEEE), Central Board of Secondary Education, Shiksha Sadan, 17, Rouse Avenue, Institutional Area (near Bal Bhawan) New Delhi 110 002. The payment is to be made through Demand Draft in favour of the Secretary, CBSE, payable at New Delhi. The candidate should write his/ her Name and Address on the back of the Demand Draft/ Pay Order. If a candidate fails to enclose a self-addressed envelope of the size of 12″x10″, the CBSE shall not be held responsible for non-dispatch of the Information Bulletin/ Application Form. The applications would be received in the Board’s office only by Regd. / Speed Post and not in person or through any private courier. Online submission of application form with photograph and signature on computer printed form and to be sent by registered /speed post (not by courier) to CBSE and payment of Rs. 300/- for general category and Rs. 150/- for SC/ST candidates made by demand draft in favour of the Secretary, CBSE, payable at New Delhi.

Scheme of Examination: Candidates opting for degree courses in Engineering/ Architecture would be required to undertake test in the following Papers:- (1) For BE/ BTech: Paper-1 (Date of Exam: 30th April 2006, Subjects: Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics, Timings: 0930-1230 Hours, Duration: 3 Hours) and (2) For BArch/ BPlanning: Paper-2 (Date of Exam: 30th April 2006, Subjects: Mathematics and Aptitude Test Part I and II, Timings: 1400-1700 Hours, Duration: 3 Hours.) Venue of Examination: As per the cities stated in the Information Bulletin. Note: Date of exam is 30th April 06. Request for supply of Application Form by post, if required will not be entertained after 30th Dec 2005. The last date for receipt of complete applications in CBSE will be 14th Jan 2006. Use of address of any coaching centre/ coaching Institution is strictly prohibited. On the basis of performance in AIEEE, separate rank lists will be prepared for BE/ BTech, and BArch/ BPlanning. Score Card indicating All India Rank with total marks and marks in each subject shall be sent to all candidates appearing in AIEEE. Candidates scoring above a certain cut off percentage of marks (being different for General and SC/ST/PH category candidates) to be called for counselling shall be determined at the time of declaration of AIEEE results. All India Rank and marks shall also be released on AIEEE website. The results of AIEEE 2006 are likely to be declared on or before 15th June, 2006.

Engineering/Medical/Architecture Entrance Examinations for admission to Professional Degree Courses 2006 will be held on the following dates.
Delhi College of Engineering - Combined Entrance Examination CEE 2006
The Combined Entrance Examination, CEE 2006, will be conducted on May 30, 2006 by University of Delhi only for the Delhi Category seats (85%) for admissions to DCE and NSIT.
For the Outside Delhi Quota Seats (15%), the admissions will be made through Central Counselling by Central Counselling Board, CCB of AIEEE on the basis of merit ranks in AIEEE-2006 being conducted by CBSE. Outside Delhi candidates are advised to appear in AIEEE-2006 for admission to Outside Delhi Quota seats in DCE and NSIT.

AIMS Education and The Hindu Education Plus are organising a free model All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) at six centres in the Chennai on January 29.
The three-hour-long examinations will be held at Adyar, Anna Nagar, Mylapore, Kilpauk, Tambaram and Virugambakkam between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.

The states entrance exam to engineering and medical institutions, the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) will no longer determine entry to Bengal Engineering and Science University once it gains Institute of National Importance (INI). Students would henceforth be enrolled in this institute through an all India level examination.

National Institute of Advance Studies in Architecture (NIASA), Academic Unit of council of Architecture, will conduct the National Aptitude Test in Architecture. This test is mandatory for admission to first year of B.Arch course offered by all Unaided Institutes and participating Aided Institutes, imparting architectural education in India.
