Karnataka Common Entrance Test (CET 2007)
Common Entrance Test or CET Karnataka is conducted for the purpose of admitting students to first year Courses in Engineering Medical (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery MBBS) Dental Courses in Bangalore , Mangalore, and other districts in Karnataka, All professional colleges (educational) within the Karnataka State which offers Medical Education, Dental Education and Engineering are affiliated to the state run Universities and recognized by the MCI, DCI and AICTE. Education that fall to the share of the Karnataka State Government. The fee Structure differs every year for Karnataka State students and other (non Karnataka) students. These in turn are split between the Karnataka State Government and the college management. The payment seats are further sub-divided into Karnataka quota and Non-Karnataka quota. (From 2005 non Karnataka students are not allowed the other way get admission is management quota)

The Common Entrance Test - 2007 will be held on only ONE day i.e., on 9th of May 2007 in three different sessions i.e., Physics & Chemistry in one paper in one session in the morning for 120 marks and 120 questions with 150 minutes duration between 10.00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.; Mathematics in one session in the afternoon for 60 marks and 60 questions with 80 minutes duration between 2.00 p.m. to 3.20 p.m. and Biology in one session in the afternoon for 60 marks and 60 questions with 80 minutes duration between 4.00 p.m. and 5.20 p.m.

Applications are invited from eligible candidates from Karnataka including the wards of Jammu & Kashmiri migrants for registration for the Common Entrance Test 2007 for admission to first year Medical / Dental/ Ayurveda/ Homoeopathy/ Unani/ Naturopathy & Yoga/ Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture courses for the seats to be notified by the Government in the professional educational institutions in the State of Karnataka for the academic year 2007-2008.

The merit will be determined in accordance with the provisions in the Karnataka Selection of Candidates for Admission to Government Seats in Professional Educational Institutions Rules, 2006. A candidate should compulsorily appear for PCB subjects in case of Medical/ Dental/ Ayurveda/ Homoeopathy/ Unani/ Naturopathy & Yoga courses and PCM subjects in case of Engineering/ Technology courses in the Common Entrance Test conducted by the CET Cell. For admission to Architecture course the candidate should compulsorily appear for Nata (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) conducted by the Council of Architecture.

National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA - 2007)

Eligibility:

Academic Eligibility:
For Medical / Dental courses, the applicant should have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC / 12th std. or equivalent exam with PHYSICS, CHEMISTRY & BIOLOGY as optional subjects and with ENGLISH as one of the languages of study and have obtained at least 50% of the aggregate marks in the PCB group and should secure not less than 50% of marks taken together in PCB subjects in the Common Entrance Test. In case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes, the minimum marks for the purpose of eligibility will be 40% of the aggregate in PCB group in both qualifying examination and Common Entrance Test.

For Ayurveda / Homoeopathy / Unani / Naturopathy & Yoga courses, the applicant should have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC / 12th std. or equivalent exam with PHYSICS, CHEMISTRY & BIOLOGY as optional subjects with ENGLISH as one of the languages of study and obtained at least 50% of the aggregate marks in the PCB group, irrespective of marks obtained in the Common Entrance Test. In case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes, the minimum marks for the purpose of eligibility will be 40% of the aggregate in PCB group in the qualifying examination. For admission to Medical / Dental / Ayurveda / Homoeopathy / Unani / Naturopathy & Yoga courses, the candidate should have completed the age of 17 years as on 31st December 2007.

For Engineering and Technology courses, the applicant should have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC / 12th Std. or equivalent exam with PHYSICS & MATHEMATICS along with Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Computer Science / Electronics / Biology as optional subjects with ENGLISH as one of the languages of study and obtained at least 45% of the aggregate marks in the optional subjects, irrespective of marks obtained in the Common Entrance Test. In case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes, the minimum marks for the purpose of eligibility will be 40% of the aggregate marks in the optional subjects in the qualifying examination.

For Architecture course, the applicant should have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC / 12th Std. or equivalent exam with Mathematics as a compulsory optional subject and obtained at least 50% of marks in aggregate in all the subjects in the qualifying examination and should compulsorily appear for Nata (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) and score a minimum of 40% in Nata. In case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes, the minimum marks for the purpose of eligibility will be 45% of the aggregate marks in all subjects in the qualifying examination and 35% score in Nata.

Note:
Other Backward Classes means the reserved categories such as Category - 1, 2A, 2B, 3A & 3B for the purpose of reservation.

A candidate who had obtained a seat in any discipline through the CET Cell in any of the previous years will not be eligible to appear for the Common Entrance Test - 2007 for selection of a seat in the same discipline. Such candidate will immediately forfeit the seat selected by him during the previous years, upon selection of a seat in a different discipline during this year.

Important: The Merit list of candidates for admission to Medical and Dental courses will be determined only on the basis of marks obtained by candidates in PCB subjects taken together in the Common Entrance Test. For Ayurveda / Homoeopathy / Unani / Naturopathy & Yoga / Engineering / Technology courses, the Merit list will be determined on the basis of marks obtained in the respective optional subjects, in both qualifying examination and the Common Entrance Test taken in equal proportions. For Architecture course, the Merit list will be determined on the basis of marks obtained in both qualifying examination and NATA taken in equal proportions.

How To Apply:
Supply of Brochure with Application Form: Brochure with application form will be supplied through the schools and colleges located within the State of Karnataka in which the candidates are studying 12th standard or 2nd PUC examination upon submission of a Demand Draft for Rs. 550/- to the Principals in advance, drawn in favour of The Special Officer, CET Cell, Bangalore payable at Bangalore and Rs. 400/- for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Category - 1. The last date for submission of Demand Draft to the Principals of Schools and Colleges within Karnataka will be 07-02-2007. Application forms and brochures are expected to reach the respective schools and colleges by 20-02-2007.

The repeater candidates and ex-students who have passed the qualifying examination within the State of Karnataka before 2007 and the Karnataka candidates residing outside Karnataka (including Horanadu, Gadinadu and other Karnataka candidates) who are studying or who have studied 12th standard or equivalent exam and appeared for examination outside the State of Karnataka, within the territory of India, can procure the brochure with application form by Speed Post, by sending a self-addressed cloth-lined envelope of size 25cm x 30cm along with a Demand Draft for Rs. 650/- drawn in favour of The Special Officer, CET Cell, Bangalore payable at Bangalore (The repeater candidates and ex-students of Karnataka who belong to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Category - 1 should send a Demand Draft for Rs. 550/- along with a copy of the caste certificate) and the Karnataka candidates residing outside India can get the brochure with application form by sending a demand draft for Rs. 3000/-. The contents on the self-addressed envelope should be in English or Kannada language only. The cover in which the demand draft and self-addressed envelope are sent should be boldly super scribed with the words Request for CET - 2007 Brochure and should be sent to the following address of the Special Officer by Speed Post ONLY. The CET Cell will not take responsibility for the envelopes sent through courier or given in person or through any other private arrangement and also for incomplete and insufficient address on the envelope. The last date for submission of Demand Drafts by Speed Post to CET Cell will be 09-02-2007. Such candidates can expect the Application form and brochure from the CET Cell by 20-02-2007

Orissa Joint Entrance Exam 2007

For admission to BTech, BArch, MBBS, BDS, BPharm, BHMCT, MCA and MBA courses And Lateral Entry to BTech, BPharm and BHMCT Courses In Government and Private Colleges

The Joint Entrance Examination for the year 2007 - 2008, Orissa shall be held on Sunday, May 27, 2007 at selected centers for admission to the first year Degree courses in Engineering/Technology, Architecture, Hotel Management and Catering Technology (HMCT), MBBS/BDS, Pharmacy, MCA, MBA and to the Lateral Entry of State candidates to third semester of degree courses in Engineering/Technology, HMCT and Pharmacy.

Eligibility:
(A) For admission to First Year Bachelor programme in

I. Engineering/Technology: Pass or appearing in 10+2 examination of CHSE, Orissa or equivalent with Physics, Mathematics, and one from Chemistry/ Computer Science/Biology/Biotechnology or pass in 10+3 diploma course in engineering including those having less than 60% marks in aggregate from SCTE&T, Orissa or equivalent.

II. Architecture: For admission to Architecture candidates are to secure minimum 50% marks in aggregate in 10+2 Examination of CHSE, Orissa or equivalent with Mathematics and one from Physics/Chemistry/ Computer Science/Biology/Engineering Drawing.10+3 years diploma with 50 % marks in aggregate can also apply.

III. Pharmacy: Pass or appearing in 10+2 examination of CHSE, Orissa or equivalent with Physics and Chemistry and one from Mathematics/Biotechnology/Computer Science /Biology or pass in 10+3 diploma course in Pharmacy including those having less than 60% marks in aggregate from SCTE&T, Orissa or equivalent.

IV. Hotel Management and Catering Technology: Pass or appearing in 10+2 examination in Arts/Commerce/Science from CHSE, Orissa or equivalent. (v) MBBS/BDS : Pass or appearing in 10+2 examination of CHSE, Orissa or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Biology with atleast 50% marks in aggregate in these subjects taken together (40% for SC/ST) with age between 17 and 25 years as on 31.7.2007 (relaxable up to 3 years for SC/ST candidates).

(B) For admission to First Year Masters programme in

I. Computer Application (MCA): Pass or appearing in 2007 three years Bachelors Degree examination in any discipline with pass in Mathematics at 10+2 level or in +3 level.

II. Business Administration (MBA): Pass or appearing in 2007 three years Bachelors Degree examination in any discipline from a UGC recognized University.

(C) For admission to Second Year Engineering/Technology, Pharmacy and HMCT under Lateral Entry: Pass or appearing in 3 years diploma course in Engineering, Pharmacy, and HMCT with atleast 60% marks in aggregate from SCTE&T, Orissa or equivalent.

(D) For admission to Second Year Engineering/Technology under Lateral Entry: Pass or appearing in 2007, for the Bachelors Degree examination of three years duration in Science from any University of Orissa or equivalent recognised by UGC and have passed with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate(First Division) with Mathematics at +3 level.

(E) For admission to Second Year Pharmacy under Lateral Entry: Pass or appearing in 2007, for the Bachelors Degree examination of three years duration in Science from any University of Orissa or equivalent recognised by UGC and have passed with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate ( First Division) with Biology at +3 level.

The ratio of distribution of seats under lateral entry for Diploma: B. Sc. is 80:20.

Note: Candidates are to produce their complete result alongwith original marksheet of qualifying examination at the time of counselling for admission.

Reservation: The percentage of seats to be reserved for different categories is subject to change and the decision of the State Government as on the date of admission will be applicable.

Outside State candidate: Outside State candidates are not eligible for admission in Govt. Colleges but they are eligible for admission to Privates Colleges.

Exam Details: Applications on prescribed forms are invited for appearing in the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (BCECE)-2006 for selection of candidates for admission to the FIRST YEAR of the following Degree Courses: (A.) Engineering/ Pharmacy Stream: Degree Courses in the Govt./ Govt. Recognised Technical Institutions of Bihar and Technical Institutions outside Bihar (State Quota). (B.) Medical Stream: MBBS/ BDS/ BAMS/ BHMS/ BUMS/ BPhT/ BThO in Government Colleges of Bihar and in other similar courses of this stream. (C) Agriculture Stream: Degree Courses of Rajendra Agricultural University, Pusa. The Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination-2006 will be held in two stages. The first stage Examination is scheduled to be held on 26th Feb 2006 and the second stage Examination is scheduled to be held on 16th April 2006.

Exam Details: Joint Admission Test to MSc (JAM 2006) will be held on 26th March, 2006 (Sunday) for admission to Two year MSc programmes in Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) (Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, Roorkee). Three year post- BSc programmes (MTech in Applied Geology/ Applied Geophysics and MCA) at NT Roorkee and MSc - PhD Dual Degree programmes in Physics at IIT Bombay and IIT Kanpur.

Eligibility: A candidate is required to qualify in the corresponding Test Paper and must also satisfy the minimum educational qualifications and eligibility requirements as specified by the admitting Institute. Reservation of seats for SC/ ST and PH category candidates will be as per Gov rules. Candidates appearing in the final examination of the qualifying degree are also eligible to appear in JAM 2006.

How To Apply: Application Forms and Information Brochures can be obtained on payment of application fee of Rs. 600/- (Rs. 300/- for SC/ST candidates) during November 28, 2005 to January 6, 2006 from the designated branches of Canara Bank in the country. The application material can also be obtained by Post from JAM Office, IIT Delhi, Hauz Khas, New Delhi-110016 by sending a request along with a self-addressed slip and a crossed Demand Draft of Rs. 650/- (Rs. 350/- for SC/ST candidates) drawn in favour of Chairman JAM, IIT Delhi payable at New Delhi, which must reach, JAM Office, IIT Delhi latest by December 23,2005. ONLINE REGISTRATION facility shall be available from November 28, 2005 at the website http://jam.iitd.ac.in.

JAM 2006 will have eight Test Papers, namely: Biotechnology, Chemistry, Geology, Geophysics, Mathematical Statistics, Mathematics, MCA and Physics each of three hours duration. The Biotechnology and MCA Test Papers will be fully objective type while the other papers will be Objective-cum-Subjective type. Exam Details: All India Medical and Engineering Colleges Association (E-Mail: itsaimeca@yahoo.co.in) is conducting AICET-Entrance Examination for UG and PG courses. As per the directions of the Honble 7 Judges Bench of the Honble Supreme Court of India W.P.(C) No. 251/2004, the candidates will be saved from lot of expenditure, mental agony due to hundred of competitive examinations. The candidates should use only one application and they can write one and only examination conducted by AIMECA for joining any college all over India.
