Council, Sambalpur University and payable at State Bank of India, Jyoti-Vihar Branch (code No. 6672) or UCO Bank, Katapali Branch (code No. 0710) along with an application on plain paper addressed to the Administrative Officer, P.G. Central Office, Jyoti-Vihar, 768019 clearly mentioning their postal address with PIN.

Indian Postal order and Bank Draft drawn on any other bank other than the banks mentioned above will not be entertained.

The Central Govt. has approved 50% reservation for Muslims at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU).Half of the seats in 36 courses including important professional degree programmes like MBBS, MCA, Engineering, LLB and BEd will be reserved for Muslim students. The reservation policy will be implemented from the coming session, AMU vice-chancellor Nafeez Ahmad said.

AMU’s long-standing demand for reservation for Muslims was approved by the UPA government on May 16.Government has cited section 2(1) of AMU (Amendment) Act, 19til and the provision of Section 5(C) of the Act that empowers the university “to promote especially the educational and cultural advancement of the Muslims of India”, said an official source.

Ahmad said admissions to a majority of these 36 courses, where the new reservation policy will be applicable, will be through competitive exams.

Till now, AMU had the vice-chancellor’s quota for reservations. This quota included categories for SC/ST, neo-Buddhists and backward classes among Muslims.

Postgraduate Diploma in Industrial Engineering (PGDIE)

This two programme develops Industrial Engineers as Technology Management experts for both manufacturing and service sectors. The programme covers subjects including supply Chain Management, Six Sigma, Operations, Project Management, Logistics, BPR, ERP and Software Engineering.

Eligibility and Selection:

GATE qualified 1st Class Engineering/ Technology graduates in any branch. GATE qualifiers get Teaching Assistantship. Admission is based on group discussion and interview with appropriate weight age given to GATE score. Selection of industry sponsored candidates with first class degree in Engineering/ Technology (with a minimum of 2 years industry experience) is through personal interview only-no GATE score is required.

Fellow (Doctoral) Programme (FP)

Eligibility and Selection:

First class Masters degree in Engineering/ Technology/ Science/ Business Management/ Commerce/ Social Sciences/ Humanities (full time course). Selection will be on the basis of academic qualifications, experience and seminars presentation on selected area of research and interview. Direct candidates will get scholarship as per rules. NET qualified candidates can also apply. External candidates have to stay in the campus for a year to undergo full time course work. For industry-sponsored candidates, a minimum of two years experience at Executive level is required.
