Admission Notice to BDS Course (NRI/NRI Sponsored/Foreign Students) through Joint Entrance Test-2006.

Five seats are reserved for NRI/NRI sponsored/Foreign students for admission to I BDS course through Joint Entrance Test-2006. in Mahatma Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Dental Sciences, Pondicherry for the academic year 2006-2007 as per the existing norms.

Admission qualification:

A pass in Higher Secondary Examination (Academic) or equivalent examination with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in the subjects-English, Biology (Botany + Zoology), Physics and Chemistry.

Age Limit:

The age will be reckoned as on 31st December 2006. The candidates should be above 17 years and there is no upper age limit.

Joint Entrance Test (JET)-2006:

Candidates seeking admission to I BDS course under NRI/NRI Sponsored/Foreign students quota for the academic year 2006-2007 should appear in the Joint Entrance Test (JET) (Paper II & III) to be conducted by the Centralised Admission Committee (CENTAC), Govt of Pondicherry. On 25th & 26th May 2006. JET 2006 will be conducted in Pondicherry, Karaikal, Mahe & Yanam.

Admission Procedure:

Admission to I BDS course under NRI/NRI sponsored/ Foreign students quota is based on the marks obtained in the JET-2006 only. A separate merit list will be prepared for the candidates appearing under NRI/NRI Sponsored/Foreign students quota.

Application Procedure:

Separate applications are prescribed for JET 2006. To appear in JET 2006 candidates should submit the application meant for the Joint Entrance Test (JET-2006).Necessary application forms along with information bulletin can be obtained from 10th April 2006 to 5th May 2006 in person from The Convenor, CENTAC, Pondicherry Engineering College Campus, Pondicherry 605 014 on payment of Rs.2000/- or equivalent in US dollars.

Application form can also be obtained by post by sending a request along with two self addressed slips (nearly typed or hand written) and a Crossed DD for Rs.2200/- or equivalent in US dollars, drawn in favour of The Convenor, CENTAC payable at Pondicherry. Payment by cheques, money orders and Postal orders will not be accepted. The application form along with the Information Bulletin can be obtained from the Convenor, CENTAC, Pondicherry Engineering College Campus, Pondicherry-605 014.

Duly completed JET-2006 applications should reach the Office of the Convenor, Centralised Admission Committee (CENTAC), Pondicherry Engineering College Campus, Pondicherry-605 014, latest by 05-05-2006(5.00 P.M.)

Joint Entrance Test (JET)-2006 & Admission to LL.B Degree Course

Applications are invited from the candidates seeking admission to the first year of the LL.B degree course offered by Dr.Ambedkar Government Law College, Pondicherry for the academic year 2006-2007. Candidates shall appear in the Joint Entrance Test-2006 (JET-2006) which is to be conducted on 26th May 2006. JET 2006 will be conducted in various centers in Pondicherry, Karaikal. Mahe & Yanam.

Candidates who have passed HSC or equivalent qualifying examination and those who are appearing in such qualifying examination in March/April 2006 are eligible to appear in JET-2006, but their admission to the degree course will be subject to passing the qualifying examination with minimum marks given below.

Out of the 80 seats of sanctioned intake, 72 seats will be allotted to the candidates from Pondicherry UT and 6 seats will be and 6 seats will be allotted to the candidates without any reference to the nativity/residence. In case enough number of qualified candidates from U.T of Pondicherry are not available for admission, candidates without any reference to the nativity/residence may be considered to those vacant seats also.

Admission Qualification:

A pass in Higher Secondary (Academic /Vocational) or equivalent examination with a minimum of 45% of the aggregate marks (a mere pass for SC/ST candidates).

Age limit:

The upper age limit is 21 years (relaxable up to 3 years for SC/ST and Physically Handicapped candidates). The age will be reckoned as on 1st July 2006.

Admission:

Merit list for admission to LL.B degree course shall be based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination and in the JET-2006, giving equal weightage to both.

Application procedure for Joint Test and Admission:

Candidates who are required to appear in Jet 2006 for seeking admission to the LL.B degree courses under CENTAC shall apply in the prescribed application forms.

Necessary application forms for JET 2006 and another for admission along with the Information Bulletin can be obtained on or after 10th April 2006 in person from the following post office on all working days on payment of Rs.115/- (Rs.100/- towards the cost of application and Rs.15/- for service charges) and Rs.40/- for SC/St candidates.

Application for can also be obtained by post by sending a request along with two self-addressed slips and a crossed DD for Rs.165/- and Rs.90/- for SC/ST candidates, to The Convenor, CENTAC, Pondicherry Engineering College Campus , Pondicherry-605 014. The DD should be drawn in favour of The Convenor, CENTAC payable at Pondicherry. Payment by cheque, Money orders and Postal orders will not be accepted.

Pattern: All question papers in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biological Sciences will be of two hours duration. All questions will be of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) type.

How to Apply: The Prospectus and Application Forms will be available at the different Branches of United Bank Of India in West Bengal, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Agartala on Cash payment of Rs.450/- or by post obtained from the Board Office on application with an additional fee off Rs.50/- by Demand Draft drawn in favor of “West Bengal Board Of Examination” along with two self addressed slips of size 2″ x 5″. Application forms will be available from 14.11.05 to 17.12.05.

The duly filled in application form and the instruction booklet may also be obtained by post and from the Board Office on application with an additional fee of Rs.50/-. The total amount has to be paid by DD drawn in favour of West Bengal Board Of Examination,payable at Kolkata.

The application form has to be submitted to the Board Office on or before 17.12.2005 between 11.00 a.m. and 2.00 p.m. on all weekdays, except Saturdays and listed holidays, or sent by post so as to reach the office of the Board by 17.12.2005. PC candidates shall ensure that the application is accompanied by attested copy of PC certificate.

However, candidates purchasing form and submitting the same from 19.12.2005 to 23.12.2005 may do so at Board Office only by paying a late fee of Rs.100/- (Rupees one hundred) per form plus cost of Form as required in CASH.

Results will be published indicating rank and rank cards will be sent to all the candidates by registered post within JUNE, 2006.

Counselling for the successful candidates will be arranged at a venue, date and time to be notified by the Central Selection Committee, separately for different categories.

It is to be noted that the Board is in no way responsible for admission to the Colleges. Admission is subject to fulfillment of eligibility conditions of the Central Selection Committee to whom the Merit List of candidates is sent by the Board. It does not have any provision for post publication scrutiny, inspection and review and hence will not entertain any such request. Compliance with requirements of the Joint Entrance Examination or even the inclusion in the Merit List does not guarantee admission to any Institution.
