Ph.D. in Management

Applications are invited for the off-campus Ph.D. Programme offered at: ITM Campuses in Navi Mumbai, Chennai and Warrangal.

The areas of research are: General Management, Operations, Marketing, Finance, Human Resource Management, Economics, Econometrics, Information Technology Management, etc. The candidates should possess a M.E. / M.Tech / MBA / M.Com / M.Sc / M.Phil / M.Pharm etc or its equivalent. If there are exceptional candidates having B.Tech / B.E. / B.Arch. / C.A. / C.S. having evidence of published research works in scholarly peer reviewed international journals and a minimum of five years of professional experience after obtaining his / her Bachelors degree, may also be considered on a discretionary basis. The research scholars will be selected through written test and interview in three centers Navi Mumbai, Chennai and Warrangal. The selected scholars have to undergo a preparatory programme for 6 months duration in three of IITM Campuses.

After successful completion of the preparatory programme, the candidates will be eligible to register for the Ph.D. Degree of BIT, Mesra (Ranchi), which is one of the top Indian Universities.

MBA Programme

Applications are invited for admission to full-time MBA Programme 2007-2009 at Mesra, and our Extension Centres at Lalpur. For detailed notification please see website.

Eligibility: (A) Candidates must have appeared in CAT 2006. They must hold a Bachelors degree (minimum 10+2+3), or equivalent in any discipline recognized by UGC / Ministry of HRD / AIU, with 60% marks (50% for SC /ST) in graduation in aggregate of all subjects. They must also have minimum 60% (50% for SC/ST) in Class 10 (all subjects) and Class 12 (best 5 subjects), Candidates graduating in 2007 can also apply, provided they can submit mark sheets by 30 September 2007. Candidates with qualifications acquired through correspondence or distance-learning programmes are eligible only if they acquired such qualifications as working professionals / while in employment.

(B) They must have Verbal Percentile Score at least 40 (25 for SC / ST) and Total Percentile Score at least 40 (25 for SC / ST) in CAT-2006.

Selection Procedure: Counselling will be at our Centres at Jaipur, Noida, Mesra and / or Lalpur, and the schedule will be displayed on 7 March 2007 on our website. Provisional selections will be based on Total Percentile Scores in CAT-2006 of such candidates who have applied and fulfill the eligibility criteria mentioned above, due consideration being given to choice(s) of Place of Study made in application form. If seats remain vacant at any Centre, there may be subsequent notification on our website. No separate intimation will be send to candidates.

How to Apply: Information Brochure and forms available from all Centres from 06 Jan 2007, in person on payment of Rs.1, 200, and by post on payment of Rs.1, 300 (all payments by crossed DD in favour of Birla Institute of Technology, payable at Ranchi).
