Postgraduate Diploma in Information Technology (PGDIT) Admission 2007-2008

Programme: IIT Kharagpur offers Postgraduate Diploma in Information Technology (PGDIT), a full time programme, at its three campuses located at Kharagpur, Kolkata and Bhubaneswar, Instruction is provided in a combination of distance and contact modes. This two-semester PG Diploma programme is designed to focus on the fundamental components as well as on the advanced aspects and innovative applications of Information Technology. Seals are reserved for SC/ST candidates and persons with disability as per Government of India rules. Reservation for OBC candidates would be implemented as and when government orders for the same are issued.
Programme Fees: Rs.50, 000 per semester.

Eligibility for Admission: A candidate who has secured or likely to secured by July 2007 with a minimum marks of 60% or equivalent CGPA a Bachelor`s degree in any branch of Engineering or Master`s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics or Computer Applications (with Mathematics as a subject at Bachelor`s level) is eligible for admission.

Mode of Selection: Selection is strictly based on the performance in an objective type written test of 2 hour duration to be held at Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Kolkata, Mumbai, and New Delhi.

The candidate should first pay the Application Fee by obtaining a Demand Draft drawn in favour of IIT Kharagpur on any nationalized bank payable at Kharagpur, West Bengal. The draft details are required while filling up the Online Form. Candidates are required to take a print of the Online Application Form after successful submission of data. The printed form with candidate`s signature and photograph and the Demand Draft must be sent by Speed Post so as to reach by February 26, 2007.
