Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering & Technology (SLIET) is a national level Institute set-up by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India which offers unique modular pattern of education in various branches of Engineering & Technology at Certificate, Diploma, Degree M.Tech / P.G. level. There is a provision for Certificate student to enter to Diploma and Diploma student to Degree Programme. Applications on prescribed form are invited for admission to various programmes through a National Level Test, to be conducted at all major class of Punjab and Other States on June 9-10, 2007.

Eligibility Criteria: Certificate Programmes:

10th Pass (with in Science, Mathematics and English) from a State Secondary Education Board / CBSE / ICSE or equivalent.

Diploma Programmes: 10+2 Pass (with Physics, Chemistry & Maths) from recognized Board / University of equivalent or Certificate Holders of SLET.

Degree Programme: Diploma Holders from SLET or from other Polytechnics affiliated with any State Board of Technical Education.

M.Tech Programmes: Bachelor Degree in Engineering / Technology in the concerned / Affiliated branch or equivalent.

Admission under Persons with Disability (PWD) Scheme:

Under the scheme of the Government of India 25 seats are available in different two years regular Diploma (12 Seats) and Certificate disability. Candidates who get persons having more than 40% are given free education, hostel facilities, scholarships, books, uniform allowances as per limits of this scheme.

Applications are invited for admission to Ph.D. and M.S. programmes under regular full time [with / without Half-time Teaching / Research Assistantship (HTRA)] and part-time / external in the engineering departments on Aerospace, Applied Mechanics, Biotechnology, Chemical, Civil, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical, Engineering Design, Mechanical Metallurgical & Materials and Ocean and in the departments of Chemistry, Humanities & Social Sciences, Management Studies, Mathematics and Physics.

Application and Admission Brochure may be obtained by post with a request enclosing a self-addressed envelope (26 18 cm) and a demand draft for Rs.250/- (Rs.125/- in the case of SC / ST / PD candidates) drawn in favour of IIT Madras payable at Chennai to the Deputy Registrar (Acad.), IIT Madras, Chennai 600036 on or before 23.03.2007 by post and up to 30.03.2007 in person. Reservations are applicable to SC / ST / OBC / Persons with Disability (PD) candidates as per Govt. of India rules. The envelope must be superscribed as Request for application for Ph.D. / M.S. Programme. Candidates applying for more than one department should submit a separate application for each department.
