Entrance Test for Admission to Master of Computer Applications (MCA)

Programme in National Institute of Technology (NITs)

Applications in the prescribed format, only from Indian Nationals are invited for NIMCET 07, a common entrance test for admission to MCA programme of 2007 08 offered by 9 NITs located at Allahabad, Bhopal, Calicut, Durgapur, Jamshedpur, Raipur, Surathkal, Tiruchirapalli, Warangal.

Eligibility Candidates with an aggregate of 60% marks [6.5/10 CGPA] in Bachelors Degree of full time 3 Years duration from a recognized University with mathematics / statistics / maths as one of the subjects in one semester / year both in graduation and at 10+2 level are eligible. For SC/ST candidates the percentage of marks is 55% (6.0/10). Those candidates who are appearing for the qualifying examinations in 2007 are also eligible to appear for the test. However, they will have to furnish the proof of eligibility at the time of counseling / admission.

Mode of Selection / Admission Admission to the MCA Programme at the above mentioned NITs is based on the rank obtained by the candidates in the NIMCET 07

Test Centres (Tentative List) Kolkata and All NITs located at all the states in India.

Eligibility Minimum second class in the qualifying examination
(i) Instrumentation: Bachelors degree in Engineering / Technology in instrumentation & control Engineering / Electronics & Instrumentation / Electronics: or Masters degree in Science with specialization in Instrumentation / Electronics.

(ii) Electronics Design and Technology: Bachelors degree in Engineering / Technology with Electronics as one of the subjects of study; or Post B.Sc., AMIE or equivalent degree in Engineering or Masters degree in Physics (with Electronics as special subject) and 2 years experience in Electronics hardware.

(iii) Computational Science: Bachelors degree in Engineering / Technology: or Masters Degree in Science ( in all cases strong mathematical and programming background is required.

For (i) above selection is based o GATE score only.
For (ii) and (iii) an aptitude test in interview are conducted after screening based on the Gate scores.

(c) M. Des in Product Design & Engineering

Eligibility Minimum second class in Bachelors degree in Engineering / Technology / Design / Architecture or Post B.Sc. AMIE or equivalent in Engineering including Architecture. A Design Aptitude Test and interview will be conducted after screening on GATE / CEED scores.

(iii) Integrated Ph.D. Programs in

(i) Biological, (ii) Chemical, (iii) Physical and (iv) Mathematical Sciences

Eligibility First class in B.Sc. degree under 10+2+3 years system indicated below for the various disciplines. Please note that candidates with M.Sc qualifications are NOT eligible.

(i) Biological Science: B.Sc degree in Physical, Chemical or Biological Sciences (including Pharmaceutical, Veterinary and Agricultural Sciences)

(ii) Chemical Sciences: B.Sc. degree with Chemistry as one of the main subject with Mathematics at PUC (Plus 2) level.

(iii) Physical Sciences: B.Sc. degree with physics as a main subject.

(iv) Mathematical Sciences: B.Math; or Stat: or BA degree with Mathematics as one of the subjects or Bachelors degree in Engineering.

All candidates should qualify in IISc Entrance Test 2007. The short-listing of candidates for interview is based on performance in the IISc Entrance Test.

(iv) External Registration Program (ERP)

Science Faculty (Ph.D. Only): All departments in the Science Faculty except High Energy Physics

Engineering Faculty (M.SC [Engg] & Ph.D.): All departments in the Engineering Faculty except. Centre for Sustainable Technologies

Eligibility
Qualifications are the same as for regular candidates * Two years experience in the current employment.

Age NOT greater 25 years than 35 years for M.Sc. (Engg) and 40 years for Ph.D. as on 01.04.2007

Please note: Entrance Test or equivalent (like CSIR-UGC/UGC-NET for JRF / GATE / NBHM Fellowship / is desirable. Selection is based on performance in interview to be conducted at the Institute.

General: Reservation for SC / ST / OBC / Physically Handicapped and Kashmir-Migrant candidates: As per Government of India regulations.

(2) Send your request for application form with 2 address slips (stickers), program to which admission is sought along with the demand draft for Rs.700/- for general candidates and Rs.350/- for SC/ ST/ PH candidates with a copy of caste certificate to the Deputy Registrar (Academic) Admissions Unit, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore 560 012. The DD must be drawn in favour of Registrar, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.

External Registration Program (ERP)

(1) Filled-in application forms should reach Deputy Registrar (Academic), Admissions Unit, IISc. Bangalore 560 012, with a DD for Rs.1500/- drawn in favor of Registrar, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.

(b) Submission of Application Forms.

(1) Filled-in application forms should reach the Deputy Registrar (Academic), Admissions Unit, IISc, Bangalore 560012 on or before 23.03.2007.

Eligibility:

(i) For Ch. Charan Singh Haryana Agriculture University, Hisar: Bachelors degree in Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc. & A.H.) recognized by Veterinary Council of India with at least 50% marks or 5.00 / 10.00 OGP or equivalent grades from a recognized university; (ii) for Ch. Sarwan Kumar HP Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Palampur: Bachelors degree in Agriculture / Horticulture / Forestry with a minimum OGPA of 2.70/4.00 or 6.00 / 10.00 or its equivalent from a recognized University or a degree from a foreign University recognized as equivalent for the purpose (with at least B grade or its equivalent; (iii) for G.B. Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pangnagar: Bachelors degree under 10+2+4 /5 pattern of education in Agriculture, Veterinary Sciences, Horticulture, or Forestry with at least 55% marks from a recognized University & Students with Bachelors degree in Science with either ZBC or PCM groups are eligible to take admission after qualifying the entrance examination. Remedial courses are mandatory which may extend the degree (iv) For Indira Gandhi Agricultural University, Raipur Bachelors degree under 10+2+4/5 pattern of education in Agriculture, Veterinary, Diary Technology, Horticulture, Forestry with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade from a recognized University (v) For Jawaharlal Nehru Krishi Vishwa Vidyalaya, Jabalpur: Bachelors degree in B.V.Sc & AH from a recognized university with at least 55% marks or 5.5 OGPA I 10 point scale or 2.5 OCGA in 4 point scale. (vi) for Kerala Agricultural University, Thrissur: Bachelors degree under 10+2+4 pattern of education in Agriculture, Horticulture, or Forestry with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade from a recognized University; (vii) for Marathwada Agricultural University, Thirussur: Bachelors degree under 10+2+4 pattern of education in Agriculture, Horticulture, or Forestry with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade from a recognized University; (viii) for Orissa University of Agriculture & Technology, Bhubaneswar: Bachelors degree under 10+2+4 pattern of education in Agriculture, Horticulture, or Forestry with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade point average of 6.5 in 10 point scale OR 3.0 in 4 point scale from any recognized University; (ix) For Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore, Bachelors degree under 10+2+4 pattern of education in Agriculture, Horticulture, or Forestry or Agricultural Engineering, with at least 70% marks or equivalent grade from a recognized University; and (x) for University of Agricultural Science, Dharwad: Bachelors degree in Agriculture, Horticulture or Forestry from a recognized Agriculture University. CGPA not less than 2.25/- 4.00 or 6.50 / 10.00 or its equivalent. For SC / ST candidates, mere pass is enough.

3. M.Tech (Biotechnology) Programme At (1) Anna University, Chennai: & (2) West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT), Kolkata;

Eligibility: Minimum 60% marks or equivalent grade in any one; B.Tech / B.E. in Chemical Engineering / Biochemical Engineering, Industrial Biotechnology, Leather Technology, Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, Pharma, Chemical Technology, OR M.Sc. in Biotechnology, Life Science, Botany, Zoology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Genetics, Biophysics, Micro Genetics and Bioinformatics (Also B.Tech / B.E. in Electrochemistry, Bioengineering and M.Sc. in Chemistry & Physics in case of Anna University and M.Sc in Bioengineering in case of WBUT)

Tuition Fee / Scholarship:

Fee shall be charged from the admitted candidates as per the fee structure of concerned University. Candidates selected for admission to those of the participating Universities, which are supported by the Department of Biotechnology (Govt. of India), are generally eligible for scholarship at the rates prescribed by the Dept. of Biotechnology. Candidates may please note that the M.Sc. Biotechnology programme being offered at Punjabi University, Patialla and Thapar Institute of Engg and Technology Patiala, is currently not being financially supported by the Department of Biotechnology. Therefore, the award of scholarships, if any, shall be governed by the ruled prevailing in these Universities. Students admitted to Gulbarga University will not get any scholarship.

Reservation / Concession

A) Reservation: 15%, 7½ and 3% of seats shall be reserved for SC, ST and Physically Challenged (Handicapped) (PH) candidates respectively. All the SC / ST and PH candidates who have passed the qualifying examination are eligible to apply irrespective of their percentage of marks in the qualifying degree examination.
b) Concession for Kashmiri Migrants: 10% marks will be added to the overall marks scored by a Kashmiri Migrant candidate in the entrance examination. After adding 10% marks, in case he / she is covered in the cut-off point in the merit list, he / she will be offered admission strictly in accordance with her/his inter-se merit along with other candidates subject to his / her meeting the minimum prescribed eligibility requirements and also subject to his / her producing valid registration documents issued by the notified authorities certifying the candidates Kashmiri Migrant status.

Procedure For Getting The Form:

In Person: Application form along with brochure can be obtained personally on cash payment of Rs.120/- per set from any of the participating University as shown above. By post: Those willing to get the Application Form by post should sent their request only to the Deputy Registrar (CEEB), Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi 110067, along with a valid bank draft of Rs.180/- (for one set of application form). Notification For All India Common Entrance Examination (All India Preveterinary Test)- 2007 For Admission To B.V.Sc. & A.H. Course

Veterinary Council of India invites applications for Entrance examination for filling up 15% of total number of seats to be filled on Merit in each Government Veterinary College in India (except from Jammu & Kashmir State) from Indian Nationals for admission to 1st year of BV.Sc. & AH course for academic session 2007 2008.

Note: Students from the State of Jammu & Kashmir are not eligible to appear in this test, and that State has not adopted the provisions of the Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984 in the State of Jammu & Kashmir. The details may be seen in the Information Bulletin / Website

Date and Venue of Examination: Saturday the 12th May, 2007 (time 2 to 5 P.M.) at the centers (cities) stated in the Information Bulletin)

Duration Of Course: The duration of B.V.Sc. & AH degree course is spread over five complete academic year including a compulsory rotating of six months.

Eligibility Criteria:

Qualification Examination:

A candidate must have passed the Higher Secondary Examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination equivalent to 10+2 Higher Secondary Examination (after a period of 12 years of study) the last two years of study with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and any other elective subject with English at a level not less than the core course for English as prescribed by the National Council for Education Research and Training or equivalent qualification as prescribed in the Veterinary Council of India Minimum Standards of Veterinary Education Degree Course (B.V.Sc. & AH) Regulations, 1993, OR

Candidates who have passed the B.Sc. examination from a recognized University with not less than two of the following subjects Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany / Zoology) and passed the earlier qualifying examination with the following subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.

To be eligible for appearing in entrance examination, the candidates must have passed the qualifying Examination obtaining not less than 50% of the aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English. In respect of candidates belonging to the SC/ST or other special category of students as specified the Government from time to time, marks required at the qualifying examination shall be 10% less than that prescribed for general category.

A candidates who is taking up the qualifying examination prior to the Entrance Examination, or whose result is awaited, may also apply and take the examination but he / she shall not be eligible for admission to the B.V.Sc. & AH Programme, if he / she does not pass the qualifying examination with the required percentage of marks as prescribed at 3 (ii) above, on or before 30th June 2007 and submit the documentary proof during counseling if selected

Age: The candidate has attained or will attain age of seventeen (17) years on 31st December 2007.

Mode of Sale of Information Bulletin and application Form:

The Information Bulletin and Application Form can be obtained by post of payment of Rs.750/- for General Category and Rs.400/- for SC / ST category (including examination fee, handling and other charges) through a Demand Draft drawn in favour of Veterinary Council of India payable at New Delhi on Scheduled Bank from the office of Controller of Examination Veterinary Council of India, A Wing, 2nd Floor, August Kranti Bhawan, Bhikaji Cama Place, New Delhi 110066. While requesting Information Bulletin and Application Form, the candidates should send: -

Sale counter of bank / counters other than the office of Veterinary Council of India will not sent the Information Bulletin by post. Hence, no request should be made to the bank / other counters for sending the Information Bulletin and Application Form by post.

Vijaya Bank or its specified branches and designated sale counters (State Veterinary Councils and University) shall not be responsible for any consequences that may arise due to non-availability of forms from Bank / Aforesaid designated centers. In case, copies of Application Forms are sold out before the last date at any of the branches and the same are not available with Vijaya Bank / Designated centers of Council, the candidates should get the same from the office of the Veterinary Council of India, A Wing, 2nd Floor, August Kranti Bhawan, Bhikaji Cama Place, New Delhi 66 by sending Demand Drafts as stated above. The request along with Demand draft should reach office of Council on or before 19th February 2007.

No correspondence regarding purchase of Information Bulletin and Application Form will be entertained after closing date of sale. General candidates applying on Forms meant for SC / ST category shall be rejected.

Last date of Submission of Application: Form duly filled ad signed by the candidate should reach the office of the Council latest by 28th February 2007.

Note: For the Applications posted from the remote areas viz.
