Admission Notice For MBBS course-2006

The Banaras Hindu University will hold All India COMPETITIVE WRITTEN TEST for admission to MBBS course in TWO stages. First stage (PMT- SCREENING- 2006) shall be held on Wednesday 10th May 2006 at Varanasi, Delhi, Kolkata and Hyderabad centers, to screen candidates for eligibility to take PMT-MAIN-2006 to be held on Sunday 18th June 2006 at Varanasi Centre only.

Eligibility: qualifications: Passed intermediate, 10+2 or equivalent examination with a minimum of 50% marks (40% in case of SC/ST candidates) in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together. Candidates appearing in qualifying in examination may also apply.

AGE: Completed 17 years but have not crossed 25 years as on 31st December 2006 (candidates born on or after 1st January 1990 and on or before31st December 1981 need not apply).

Prescribed Application form along with the Information Booklet of PMT-2006 can be obtained.

BY CASH: on payment of Rs.800/- (Rs.500/- for SC/ST candidates) from Tuesday 10th January, 2006 to Monday 27th February, 2006 from the following branches of Bank of Baroda.(A) VARANASI-1) BHU, 2) Ram Katora and 3) Orderly Bazar Branches (B) DELHI- 1) Parliament Street, 2) Shakti Nagar and 3) Nehru Place Branches. (C) LUCKNOW- Charbagh Branch (D) KOLKATA- College Street Branch (E) HYDERABAD-Hyderabad Mian Branch (F) NAGPUR- Dharam Peth Branch (G) BARODA- Baroda Main Branch. However application form can be obtained from bank of Baroda (BHU Branch, Varanasi only), upto Monday 06.03.2006 till 4.00 PM.
BY POSTAL CHANNEL: From the Office of the Director (PMT-Cell), Institute of Medical Science, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi-221 005 by sending a written request through Registered Poost along with Crossed Demand Draft/Bankers cheque of Rs.860/- (Rs.560/- for SC/ST candidates) of a nationalized Bank, drawn in favour of The Director, Institute of Medical Sciences BHU payable at Varanasi. Application material will be sent by speed/Registered Post, however institute will not be responsible for any loss or postal delay. The request for application must include the name and address of the candidate, and full particulars of the enclosed DD/BC. Two self addressed, preferably typed, white paper slips of 10 cm * 6 cm size MUST also accompany it. The envelope containing requisition for PMT application form and demand draft should be superscribed Request for Application for PMT-2006, BHU Last date for requisition for PMT form by post is Monday 20.02.2006. Incomplete/non-cashable Draft (under amount/unsigned/without Bank Code NO. & Seal) shall not be accepted fro sending the application form.

NOTE: a) Separate Bank Draft will be required for each application form. b) M.O/I.P.O/Cheque shall not be accepted under any circumstances. Application forms from the Office of the Director (PMT-Cell), Institute of Medical Sciences, can be obtained by POST only and not in person. In case forms are not available at Bank of Baroda the same can be obtained by post from Directors Office up to 20.02.2006.

Last date for submission of completed application form: Application forms duly completed must be sent through Registered Post, so as to reach the director (pmt-cell), institute of medical sciences, banaras hindu university, varanasi-221 005 latest by Tuesday the 7th March 2006 up to 4.00 PM. Application forms received after the last date shall not be accepted. Foreign Nationals are not required to appear in the PMT examination for MBBS Course. They may seek admission through respective Ministries of Govt. of India, New Delhi, as per the rules laid down for the purpose and their nomination must reach by 15th July 2006. Vacation training programme on bioresources for school children

National Bioresource Development Board (NBDB), Department of Biotechnology (DBT) is supporting the Programme on Bioresource Development & Utilization. To create an awareness among school children, Vacation Training Programmes are being supported by the Board. The main objective of the course is to impart training on sustainable utilization and conservation of bioresources and to create an awareness about the relevance of bioresources in day-to-day life. The training course is aimed at students who have recently appeared in the X class examination and are awaiting results or who have passed the X class examination.

Applications are invited, for conducting Vacation Training Programmes on Bioresources for School children, from Universities, Research Institutes, Colleges, Registered Societies (NGOs), having facility for boarding and lodging, well established laboratory facilities for biotechnology, in-house expertise on bioresources and biotechnology are eligible to apply. The institutions should have a proven track record and expertise on research and development concerning bioresources (proof of the same should be appended along with the proposal).
