Medical Common Entrance Test 2007

Common Entrance Test (Associate CET 2007) will be held on Sunday 6th May 2007 for the Academic Year 2007 2008 for Admission to MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, BPTh, BOTh & BSc Nursing courses in the State of Maharashtra.

Application forms and Information brochure for Asso CET 2007 for admission to 1st year MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, BPTh, BOTh & BSc Nursing courses will be available at all the Private Medical and Dental Colleges and other notified centers given below from 12th March 2007 to 12th April 2007 on payment of Rs.500/- by DD. Application forms will also be available from AMUPMDC office by post with an additional DD of Rs.100/- for postal charges. Application Forms will also be available from selected centers of Punjab National Bank on Payment of Rs.500/- in Cash. The Fees for Examination is Rs.1, 500/- payable by DD. All DDs are to be drawn in favour of AMUPMDC and payable at Mumbai.

All the health Science Colleges are affiliated to Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik. All the Medical Colleges are approved by Medical Council of India, Dental Colleges by Dental Council of India and other Health Science Colleges by their respective Central Councils.

Available Seats

The number of colleges and seats may change as per instructions from respective Councils / Government of India / Government of Maharashtra / MUHS / other reasons if any.

Examination Centers:

Asso CET 2007 will be conducted at 18 centers in Maharashtra (viz. Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane, Pune, Nashik, Dhule, Jalgaon, Aurangabad, Ahmednagar, Satara, Sangli, Kolhapur, Solapur, Latur, Akola, Nanded, Amravati and Nagpur), 7 Centers outside Maharashtra state (viz. Delhi, Noida, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Indore, Kolkata, Hyderabad).

The rights to increase or delete Examination Centers rest with the Competent Authority.

Eligibility Criteria:
Candidate must be born on or before 1st Jan, 1991
Candidate must have passed HSC (10 + 2 or equivalent) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English
Candidates appearing for HSC (10+2) equivalent examination in March 2007 are also eligible to appear for Asso CET 2007, however, the candidate must fulfill the eligibility conditions.

Examination Pattern:

Asso CET 2007 will consist of 200 MCQs comprising of Physics (50), Chemistry (50) and Biology (100). Every correct answer will be awarded 1 mark No negative marking. The medium of examination will be English. Syllabus for Asso CET 2007 will be same as of the subject of Physics, Chemistry and Biology of the HSC Board of Maharashtra for the year 2006 2007.

Common Entrance Test for Admissions to First Year of MBA/MMS/PGDBM/PGDBA and MCA Courses for the Year 2007-2008

Candidates seeking admission to AICTE approved MBA/MMS/PGDBM/PGDBA and MCA courses are hereby informed that a Common Entrance Test (CET) will be conducted for the admission to these courses as per the schedule given below:

Admission to first year of two year full time post graduate degree courses in Management namely
Master of Business Administration (MBA)
Master of Management Studies (MMS)
Post Graduate Diploma Courses in Business Management (PGDBM)
Business Administration (PGDBA)

The institutes which qualify for the admission process as per these rules are:
Approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.
Recognised by the Government of Maharashtra.

Affiliated to any one of the ten Non Agricultural / Non Technological Universities in Maharashtra state.

Following are the types of Institutes in the Maharashtra state covered by these rules;

a) All Government Management Institutes
b) All University Departments of Management
c) All University Managed Management Institutes

d) All Unaided Management Institutes whose Association has given consent to participate in the CAP rounds conducted by the State Government.

The admission to the courses MBA/MMS is centralized and is covered under Centralized Admission Process (CAP) carried by the Competent Authority of the State of Maharashtra.

Government Institute: Sydenham Institute of Management Studies & Research and Entrepreneurship Education, Mumbai

University Departments: Amravati, Aurangabad, Jalgaon, Nagpur, Kolhapur, Solapur, Pune, Nanded and Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai.

University Managed Institute (Only for Women Candidates): Jankidevi Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, SNDT Womens University, Mumbai.

Eligibility Criteria:

2.1 Basic Qualification: In order to secure admission to first year of two-year full time MBA/MMS/PGDBM/PGDBA course, the candidate should fulfill the following eligibility criteria;

Passed with minimum of 45% marks in aggregate* ( 40% in case of candidates of backward class categories belonging to Maharashtra State only) in any Bachelors degree of minimum three years duration in any discipline recognised by the Association of Indian Universities. OR

Appeared** for the final year examination of any Bachelors degree of minimum three years duration in any discipline recognised by the Association of Indian Universities. Such candidates can be considered for provisional admission subject to passing the Degree exam with minimum of 45% marks in aggregate (40% in case of candidates of backward class categories belonging to Maharashtra State only).

NOTE: Candidate is advised to ensure before applying for admission to the CET and the MBA / MMS programme in a particular University that he / she is eligible for admission to the programme as per the relevant Eligibility Rules of that University.

Generally candidates passing qualifying degree examination by part time or by correspondence course or passed in more than one sitting are not considered eligible by several Universities.

2.2 Eligibility Criteria for admission to MaharashtraState candidates (Type A-E) for the seats coming under CAP:

(Refer rule no. 3.1 for the definition of Type of candidature for Maharashtra State Candidates)

1. Candidate should be an Indian National and should possess basic qualification as specified in rule no. 2.1. 2. Appeared for the Common Entrance Test (MAH-MBA/MMS -CET 2007), GD & PI conducted by the Competent Authority of the Maharashtra State for the academic year 2007-2008.

2.3 Eligibility Criteria for admission to OutsideMaharashtraState (OMS) candidates for the 15% seats coming under CAP:

(Refer rule no. 3.2 for the definition of Outside Maharashtra State Candidates)

1. Candidate should be an Indian National and should possess basic qualification as specified in rule no. 2.1.

2. Appeared for CAT (conducted by IIMs) / JMET (conducted by IITs) / MAT (conducted by AIMA) / ATMA (conducted by AIMS) / XAT (conducted by XLRI) for seeking admission to MBA/MMS for the academic year 2007-08. Such candidates # are required to appear for GD &PI conducted by the Competent Authority of MaharashtraState for academic year 2007-08. OR

Appeared for the Common Entrance Test (MAH-MBA/MMS -CET 2007), GD & PI conducted by the Competent Authority of the Maharashtra State for the academic year 2007- 2008.

# - OMS Candidates who have appeared for CAT/ JMET / MAT / ATMA / XAT and seeking admission to MBA/MMS course against 15% seats coming under CAP shall have to fill up & confirm the application form for the CET i.e. MAH-MBA/MMS CET 2007 as per the procedure outlined in Annexure-I. Such OMS candidates only will be permitted to appear for the GD, PI conducted by Competent Authority of the State of Maharashtra.

J & K migrant candidates may also apply under both the OMS category as well as J & K category. These candidates shall have to pay total fees of Rs.2300/- and procure two receipts from the identified post office. These candidates will be considered for allotment against both the OMS seats under CAP as well as J & K Seats under counseling round.

Details of CET, GD, PI, Distribution of Total Marks and GD-PI, Undertaking etc.

1.0 The Agency to administer CET, GD AND PI

The CET, GD and PI would be administered by the Competent Authority, on its own or in collaboration with or through a professional agency with proven record of its competence and experience in such process of personnel selection through competitive examinations.

2.0 The MAH MBA/MMS-CET 2007
The question paper for the CET will be set in English only. Translations in any languages will not be available.
The CET would be of 2 1/ 2 (Two and half) hours duration and would have a maximum of 200 marks.
The Maharashtra MBA CET 2007 would be held on Sunday, the 25/02/2007 at 2.00 p.m.
The CET would have multiple choice objective type questions.
The CET would not have negative marking.
There will be no verification of marks or revaluation of answer sheets of the CET
The marks at the CET would be considered for admission during the current academic year only and would not be allowed to be carried forward to the next year.
The detailed information and the instructions about the CET and a few sample questions illustrating the nature, variety, scope, pattern, type of questions that will be set for the CET are given in Annexure VIII and Sample answer sheet (filled up) and (Blank) is given in Annexure IX.
The cities in which CET-2007 is conducted are designated as centre for the CET. Each centre will have several venues depending upon the number of candidate due to appear at that centre. A candidate applying for the CET would have the freedom to choose his/her centre but shall not have freedom to choose the venue.
The venues allotted to the various candidates appearing for the CET would be displayed on web site www.dte.org.in/mba under the heading MBA/MMS-CET-2007 Examination venue on 16/02/2007.

Number of Seats: The regular intake capacity for the programme in 24, out of which 50% seats are for the candidates from states other than Uttaranchal and 50% seats are for candidates of Uttaranchal Government, Implemented by the University.

Selection Procedure: The candidates willing to apply for the programme will have to produce their CAT-2006 score along with the application form issued by CABM. The candidates short listed on the basis of CAT Score will have to appear for the Group Discussion and Personal Interview at CABM, Pantnagar on June 16, 2007.

How to Apply:

For Ph.D.(Management)

Eligibility: The eligibility of the programme is masters degree in management, economics, agricultural economics, or commerce with an OGPA of not less than 6.500 /10.00 or 4.000 /5.000 or first division in case of the universities where grading system is not applicable. Those appearing for the final year Degree examinations (mentioned above) may also apply.

Selection Procedure: The candidates will have to fill the admission and appear in the admission test conducted by the University for Admission in Ph.D. programme.

Number of Seats: The regular intake capacity for the programme is 4 out of which 50% seats for candidates from States other than Uttarakhand and 50% seats are for candidates of Uttarakhand State in which seats for OBC, SC, and ST are reserve as per the reservation polity of the Uttarakhand Government, implemented by the university. Two seats are available for in service teachers in UGC / CAR / AICTE approved institutions over the above the intake capacity.

All other candidates will have to appear for the online national entrance test.
