Announces admission to the XVI batch of the Two Year Full Time Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management (2007-09)

Eligibility

The candidate must hold a Bachelors Degree with 50% marks or equivalent CGPA, of any of the Universities incorporated by an Act of Central or State legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University Under Section 3 of UGC Act, 1956 or possess an equivalent qualification recognised by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India. The Bachelors Degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the candidate must entitle a minimum of 3 years of education after completing Higher Secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent.

Candidates appearing for the final year degree examination in 2007 can also apply subject to furnishing the proof of graduation by October1, 2007. Such Candidates if selected will have to submit a provisional certificate from their Institute/University stating that they fulfill the qualifying criteria of 50% marks latest by 30th June, 2007.

Admission Procedure

Eligibility: The candidates for the programme must have either a Bachelors Degree in Engineering with 60% marks, or a Masters degree or its equivalent in any discipline with at least 55% marks. The candidates must have secured a minimum of 55% marks in all their public examinations starting with the secondary level. Work experience in industry or academics, though not mandatory, will be given due credit in the admission process.

Age Limit: Candidates must not be more than 45 years of age as on 30th June 2007.

Admission Procedure: Candidates will be short-listed for the selection interview on the basis of one of the following exams: Common Admission Test (CAT) conducted by IIMs, GATE, GRE, GMAT, and JRF of UGC/CSIR. Scores of any of these exams taken during the last two years (i.e., on or after July 01, 2005) will be considered valid. Candidates already holding a PGDM from any of the IIMs with a minimum CGPA of 6.0 on a 10 point scale are exempted from taking one of the exams listed above, and can apply directly through the prescribed Application Form.

Financial Support: All FPM students are provided with a monthly stipend of Rs.10,000/- for a maximum period of four years. IIM Lucknow provides free lodging facilities. Students will not be required to pay any fees. Students are provided a contingency grant of Rs.25, 000/- per year for purchase of book/hardware etc. and for attending conferences. NRIs and foreign candidates will be required to bear all the expenses including the tuition fee. Final year students are eligible to apply for the Bharti Foundation Scholarship of Rs.4 lacs.

Career Opportunities: Pass graduates of this programme are serving as faculty in premiere management institutes, and in research/analysis divisions of premiere national and multinational corporations.
