IBSAT Common Admission Test Management Programmes

The ICFAI Business Studies Aptitude Test will be conducted on December 17 at around 173 test centres all over India.

IBSAT is the common admission test for management programmes at the following participating institutions:
ICFAI Business School
ICFAI National College
ICFAI School of Financial Studies
ICFAI School of Marketing Studies
ICFAI School of Human Resource Development

Eligibility
You must be a graduate in any discipline from a recognised university.
You must have a minimum overall aggregate of 50 percent.
You could also apply if you have appeared for your final year examination.

Selection method
You will be shortlisted on the basis of your performance in the entrance test.
This will be followed by a personal interview.
Applicants with GMAT scores are not required to take the written test.

Important date
Please send in your completed application form by November 30.

Dates for talent Exam Announced

New Delhi: The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) announced dates for its National Talent Search Examination for 2007. It offers 1,000 scholarships for students of Class VIII and X.

According to an official release issued by the NCERT, as per the new scheme from this year, students will be offered scholarship from Class VIII and Class X. Seats are also reserved for students belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. All states and union territories will make selections for Stage-I exams and the qualifying students will be eligible for the Stage-II examination, organized by the NCERT.

Dates of the exams for the class VIII and X are common for Stage-I and will be conducted on November 11,2006 by Mizoram, Meghalaya, Nagaland, and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Other states

For other states and Union Territories, it will be on November 12, 2006. Stage-II (national) exam will be conducted by May 13, 2007 in all States and Union Territories.

Students in class VIII and X of recognized schools will be eligible to appear in the NTSE exam. Those eligible can apply to the concerned State Liaison Officers or download forms from the NCERT website www.ncert.nic.in.

Indian students studying abroad can appear for the stage-II exam and apply to the NCERT directly. The scheme was started by the NCERT to identify talented students and nurture them.

Eligibility:

Recognized bachelors degree of minimum 3 years duration in any discipline. Candidates appearing for a qualifying examination can also apply subjects to submission of proof of requisite qualification by 7 October 2007.

No age limit.
Reservations:

Seats are reserved as per government of India rules. The reservations are subject to candidates meeting the admission requirements of the institute under this category.
Mode of admission:

On the basis of written test, group discussion and interview. Written test will be held on Sunday 26 November 2006 during 10.00 am. 12.00 noon at Ahmedabad, Allahabad, Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Coimbatore, Dehradun, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Jamshedpur, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur and Visakhapatnam. Based o the marks of the written test, a limited number of candidates will be invited for the second phase of selection process comprising group discussion, interview etc. to be held at Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow and Mumbai. IIFT reserves the right to add/delete any center, if required.
For Foreign/NRI/Children of NRIs:

Seats are reserved for foreign nationals, NRI and children of NRIs and the admission is considered on the basis of general management aptitude test score which should not have been declared before 1 January 2005 and should be received by the institute latest by 31 march 2007.
Placement: Campus recruitment facilities are available.

Hostel: hostel facilities are available at IIFT Delhi center. Accommodation arrangements will be facilitated by IIFT for Kolkata center.

By cash/Personally: The prospectus and application form may be obtained on all working days between 10.00 am 4.30 pm. On payment of Rs.1, 200 in cash personally, from IIFT, B-21, qutab institutional area, New Delhi 110016 or J-1/14, 7th floor, EP&GP block, sector-V, Salt Lake City, Kolkata-700091.

By post: The prospectus and application form may be obtained by post from IIFT Delhi center only by sending a request accompanied by DD/pay order of Rs.1, 300/- favouring IIFT payable at New Delhi and two self-addressed adhesive stickers. SC/ST/PH candidates to attach requisite certificate also.

The e-pariksha II stage online examination will be on computer and candidate should have basic knowledge in usage of keyboard and mouse.

More details on e-pariksha-online examination are available on our website http://www.rrbchennai.net candidates should familiarize themselves with the online examination procedures.

Their will be a brief demonstration session prior to the commencement of the examination to help the candidates to familiarize themselves with the e-pariksha online examination process.
Verification of original certificates

Candidates should invariably bring all original certificates in respect of (1) date of birth (2) educational qualification (3) community etc., while attending verification. No further time will be given for submission of certificates.

Please note that the number of candidates being called for certificate verification is more than the actual no/ of vacancies. Hence, being called for verification does not, in any way, entitle the candidate to appointment in railways.

The final result will be based on the number of vacancies, performance in e-pariksha II stage online examination (computerized) and correctness of information furnished in the application/verification.

Please note that the candidates will be required to be available at chennai on the date of verification mentioned in the call letter and for e-pariksha- online examination on Saturday, the 29th July 2006.

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has invited applications for entrance test for admission to Bachelor of education (B.Ed) programme for January 2007 session. Duration is two years. Medium of instruction: English and Hindi.

Entry qualification is bachelor’s degree or higher degree from a recognized university and two-year full-time teaching experience on temporary/permanent basis in a primary, Secondary/higher/senior School recognized by the Central or State Government.

The entrance test will be held on August 20.
