Indian Institute of Information Technology & Management-Kerala(IIITM-K) National Entrance
Indian Institute of Information Technology & Management-Kerala (IIITM-K) has providing online registration facilities at www.iiitmk.ac.in/iiitmk/inet2006/ for admission to Master of Science in Information Technology (MS-IT). BE, B.Tech holders in any discipline, MCA degree holders with 60 percentage or more marks from matriculation onwards are eligible to apply. Those who have appeared for final year exam can also apply before 21st April 2006.
Online Entrance Test (INET) will be conducted on 10th June 2006 at Thiruvananthapuram Cochin, Calicut, Coimbatore, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata.

A Bachelors Degree of a minimum 3 years duration or its equivalent (under the 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 or 10+2+2+1 year bridge course pattern of study or any other pattern fulfilling the mandatory requirement of 15 years of formal education) from a recognized university in Arts / Commerce / Medicine / Law / Nursing with minimum aggregate marks of 50 per cent (40 per cent for SC/ST) or in Science/Engineering with a minimum aggregate marks of 55 per cent (45 per cent for SC/ST)or
Candidates who will complete all the requirements of their final year Bachelors Degree examinations by Saturday, June 24, 2006, will also be eligible to apply provided they have obtained a minimum aggregate marks of 50 per cent (40 per cent for SC/ST) or in Science/Engineering with minimum aggregate marks of 55 per cent (45 per cent for SC/ST) in their first and second year college/university examinations taken together, if the degree course is of three years; and the first, second and third year college/university examinations, if the degree course is of four years, for all the subjects examined. In such cases, admission to the Masters Degree Programmes of the Institute shall be provisional. If a provisionally admitted student fails in the final year examination, the offer of provisional admission will be automatically cancelled.

How to Obtain the Application Form
Prescribed application forms can be obtained by addressing request letter to Post Box No. 8107, Bandra (East), Mumbai 400 051 by sending a Demand Draft for Rs.750/- (non-refundable). (DD to be drawn in favour of Registrar, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai, payable at Mumbai) and a self-addressed cloth-lined envelope (20 cms X 25 cms).
The Application Form can also be downloaded from the Institute website: www.tiss.edu . Applicants who have downloaded the Application Form have to enclose a demand draft for Rs. 750/- (non-refundable) to be drawn in favour of Registrar, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai, payable at Mumbai towards the application processing charges (non-refundable). In case of Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe candidates, they need not pay for the Application Forms and Information Brochure, if they are unemployed and the income of their parents/guardians was Rs. 1,00,000/- (Rupees one lakh) or below, during the financial year 2004-2005. However, they will be required to address their request letter to Post Box No. 8107, Bandra (East), Mumbai-400 051, enclosing the following documents for obtaining the application form free of cost:
A photocopy of the Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe Certificate issued in the name of the candidate by a Revenue Officer not below the rank of a Tahsildar.
A copy of the Income Certificate of the candidate’s parents or guardian, issued by the employer or by any appropriate authority like Tahsildar.
All completed applications should reach Post Box No. 8107, Bandra (East), Mumbai 400 051 on or before December 23, 2005.
The last date for receiving applications sent BY POST from remote areas/regions (that is, Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Jammu & Kashmir, Lahaul and Spiti district, Pangi sub-division of Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh, and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands or Lakshadweep Islands), and abroad is December 29, 2005.
Candidates who are claiming the benefit of extended time should clearly indicate in their forwarding letter, along with the Application Form, the name of particular area or region (for example, Assam, Meghalaya, Jammu & Kashmir, etc.) from where they have posted their application. In case they fail to do so, the benefit of extended time will not be allowed to them.
Selection Procedure:
Assessment for Selection (Total Marks 200)
Those satisfying the eligibility requirements will be assessed for selection through the following:
Essay Test (25 Marks)
The essay test (ET) aims at assessment of knowledge about contemporary issues in the field and sensitivity to social issues, expressed through written analysis in English. The time allotted is 45 minutes.
Objective Test (60 Marks)
The Objective Test includes quantitative, data interpretation, business knowledge and logical reasoning the time allotted is 90 minutes.
Group Discussion (25 Marks)
The group discussion (GD) aims at assessment of knowledge about contemporary issues in the field and sensitivity to social issues expressed orally in English in a group situation. The time allotted is 20 minutes.
Personal Interview (65 Marks)
To become eligible for the group discussion and personal interview (PI):
A general candidate should secure a minimum combined score of 43 marks (35 marks for SC/ST) in Essay Test and Objective Test put together to be considered for GD and PI.
Academic Background (25 Marks)
Marks are awarded to each applicant on the basis of overall percentage of marks secured in the Bachelor’s Degree Examination and the maximum marks are 25. However, high academic achievement is not the only criterion on which the candidate will be selected.
The candidate is also expected to be acquainted with the programme for which he/she has applied for, as questions may be asked on the topic during the personal interview. The names of the candidates eligible for group discussion and personal interview on the basis of their performance in the Essay Test and Objective Test will be announced on Saturday, March 11, 2006.
The group discussion and personal interview will be held between April 10 and 15, 2006 at the Mumbai Campus of the Tata Institute of Social Sciences. Candidates are required to see the list of candidates eligible for group discussion and personal interview put up on the notice board of the Institute as well as TISS website. All the candidates short-listed for the group discussion and the personal interview will be required to collect a copy of the Detailed Application Form from the Academic Section of the Institute between 10.30 a.m. and 5.00 a.m. one day before their group discussion and personal interview. They will be also required to pay Rs. 250/- as administrative charges (non-refundable) in cash or by a demand draft drawn in favour of Registrar, Tata Institute of Social Sciences to the TISS at its Cash counter while submitting the detailed application form to the Academic Section. The applicants may note that the Interview Panel will consider the Detailed Application Forms.
They will be required to fill in the form in all respects, attach all the photocopies of mark sheets, certificates, examination appearance certificate from college as indicated on page 16 and 17, and also the copies of extra-curricular activities, if any, as mentioned on pages 16 and 17 of the Information Brochure.
The duly completed form, with annexure, should be submitted to the Academic Section before 9.30 a.m. on the day of their personal interview. No candidate will be allowed to appear for group discussion and personal interview without paying the administrative charges and submitting the duly completed form as stated herein above.
Entrance Test Time Shedule:
The Entrance Test (Essay Test and Objective Test) for M.A. in Human Resources Management and Labour Relations will be held on Sunday, February 26, 2006 from 11.00 am and 1.15 pm at twelve major cities in India. They are as below:
