The postgraduate program in Business Management at Great Lakes Institute of Management is intended to prepare the students to understand the key interactions among the functional areas of a business system, appreciate the need to have a cross-functional perspective to analyzing issues in business systems and apply key concepts in addressing these issues to arrive at meaningful solutions.
The program is designed to prepare the student to respond to the complex business decisions that arise in modern changing environment. This eight-term program encompasses a set of core courses in Strategy, Marketing, Finance & Accounting, Entrepreneurial Economics, Organization Behavior, Operations and Quantitative Decisions . The program is designed to meet the emerging trend for acquiring management skills among the students irrespective of the undergraduate specialization and therefore the program is structured to cater to a wide variety of undergraduate degrees. Students without appropriate business coursework or substantial relevant business experience will be required to complete additional coursework in quantitative methods, economics and business psychology. The proposed program focuses on Marketing, Finance and Control, Production, Systems and Information Technology and Entrepreneurial Management including Family Business. These specializations are offered in the form of Streams, each stream consisting of a set of courses, which the students have to choose starting fifth term.
Admission Requirements
Great Lakes believes that to fulfill its vision of producing entrepreneurial managers, the applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized institution and preferably with 2 years of work experience. Outstanding graduates with no experience would be considered on a case to case basis. All applicants are required to appear for GMAT/CAT before applying for Great Lakes Institute of Management. In case the applicant is not able to complete GMAT before applying, outstanding candidates with excellent track record can appear in the institute’s GET during the admission process.
Applicants for admission are evaluated based on GMAT/CAT/GET score, academic performance in school and under-graduate courses, essays and letters of recommendation, and performance in the interview and group discussion.
Letters of Recommendation are required to be submitted along with the application package. Professional recommendation for candidates with substantial work experience is preferred. Applicants with no work experience can source their recommendation letters from their faculty members.

Great Lakes Institute of Management Entrance Test [GET] is an online test conducted at Great Lakes Institute of Management’s campus and at select cities at the time of registration of candidacy for admission. GET consists of questions that evaluate a candidate’s quantitative, verbal, logical and data interpretive abilities.

GATE 2006 Admission Notice
Admission to Postgraduate Courses (Master’s and Doctoral) in the country, with MHRD and other Government Scholarsips / Assistantships, in Engineering / Technology / Artitecture / Pharmacy / Science is open to those who qualify in GATE.

Eligibility: The following categories of candidates are eligible to appear for GATE 2006.
(a) Bachelor’s degree holders in Engineering / Technology / Artitecture / Pharmacy and those who are in the final or pre-final year of such programmes;
(b) Master’s degree holders in any branch of Science / Mathematics / Statistics / Computer Applications or equivalent and those who are in teh final or pre-final year of such programmes;
(c) Candidates in the second or higher year of Four-year Integrate Master’s degree programme (Post-B.Sc.) in Engineering / Technology or in the third year or higher year of Five-year Integrated Master’s Degree Programme and Dual Degree programme in Engineering / Technology;
(d) Candidates with qualifications obtained through examinations conducted by professional societies recognised by UPSC / AICTE (e.g. AMIE) as equivalent to B.E. / B.Tech. Those who completed Section A or equivalent of such professional course are also eligible.
There are two different processes by which a candidate can apply for GATE 2006, namely, “online” and “offline”. For general category candidates, the application fee is Rs. 900 for the online process and Rs. 1000 for the offline process. For SC/ST candidates, the fee is Rs. 400 for online and Rs. 500 for offline. The application fee is not refundable.
Online submission of application forms can be made by accessing the IIT and IISc CATE websites (gate.iisc.ernet.in; http://www.iitb.ac.in/gate; http://www.iitd.ac.in/gate; http://www.iitg.ac.in/gate; http://www.iitk.ac.in/gate; http://gate.iitkgp.ac.in; http://gate.iitm.ac.in; http://www.iitr.ernet.in/gate). The candidate should pay the Application Fee through an SBI ATM or through a Demand Draft in favour of ‘IIT Kharagpur’ on any nationalized bank payable at ‘Kharagpur’. The candidate should submit the payment details while filling up the Online Form. Candidates are required to take a print of the Online Application Form after successful submission of data. The printed form, with candidate’s signature and photograph at appropriate places, and the Demand Draft / original ATM transaction-slip must be sent ONLY to The Organising Chairman, GATE, IIT Kharagpur, Kharagpur 721302.
Offline process involves procuring the Information Brochure and Application Form on payment of cash from the designated Bank Branches. Candidates can also obtain the Information Brochure and Application Form by Post from / or personally at the GATE offices. For this purpose a Demand Draft is to be sent for the amount as above to the Chairman, GATE of the corresponding zone GATE office, along with a request letter and two self addressed slips. Filled in Application Form along with the bank pay-in-slip / receipt of payment from GATE office must be sent to the respective zonal GATE office depending on the examination city where the candidate wishes to appear.

Common Entrance Examination for Design 2006 Admission Notice
Qualifying in CEED is a requirement for admission to Master of Design ( 2 year Program) at IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, IISc. Bangalore.
The examination will be held on Sunday, January 22, 2006
Eligibility for CEED 2006: Bachelor’s Degree of equivalent in Engineering, Architecture or Design; Interior Design Professional Diploma of CEPT (5 year program); BFA (Professional course in Applied Art, Fine Arts); GD Art (5 year professional course); Professional Diploma of NID, Interior design degree (4 years) / diploma (5 years). All qualifications must satify 10 + 2 + 4 years of study or higher. Students in the final year of the above courses are also eligible. Candidates are required to find out the procedure of final selection and award of Scholarship / Assistantship, from the Institutions in which they seek admission. Reservation for various categories will be as per Govt. of India rules at the time of admission.

Branches should be payable at the State Bank of India, Service Branch (Code No. 7687), New Delhi and should be valid upto March, 2006. Indian Postal Orders, money orders, cheques or cash will NOT be accepted for postal sale. The request should reach the Assistant Controller of Examinations, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Ansari Nagar, New Delhi - 110029 on or before 10th Sept., 2005. The address at which Application Form is required should be written clearly in CAPITAL LETTERS and with PIN code. The following words should be written on top of the envelop: ” Request for Application Form for AIIMS-PG/Post Doctoral Courses, January 2006 Session”. AIIMS will not be responsible for delay in / non-receipt of Application Form caused by illegible or incomplete address.
Note:
1. Central / State sponsored / foreign national candidates are also required to fill in the prescribed application form.
2. A candidate can submit only one application form for DM / M.Ch & Ph. D courses
Important -
Candidates must obtain application forms ONLY from an authorized branch of S.B.I. or by post from Examination Section of AIIMS. Forms obtained from an unauthorized source will be rejectd.
Candidates are advised to procure blank application forms as early as possible. If copies of application forms are sold out before the last date of sale and the same are not available, AIIMS / SBI or its specified branches will not be responsible for any consequences that may arise due to non-availability of forms. If a candidate does not get the form through Post Office in time, AIIMS will not be responsible for such lapses.
