The Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani, which is deemed to be a university, is an all-India Institute for higher education for men and women, fully residential, and awards its own degrees. Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission to the following integrated first degree programmes offered by the institute at Pilani campus. Admissions will be made on all-India basis strictly according to merit and suitability of the candidate to pursue the following programmes of studies.

M.E. in Biotechnology; Chemical; Civil (with specialization in Structural Engg./Transportation Engineering); Communication Engineering; Computer Science; Design Engineering; Electrical with specialization in Power Electronics & Drives; Embedded Systems, Manufacturing Systems Engineering; Mechanical; Microelectronics; Software Systems M.Pharm.

Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Engineering & Technology Management; IT enabled Services Management.
Doctoral Programmes leading to Ph.D. in all areas of Engineering and science disciplines.

Input Qualifications:

M.E. Biotechnology
Any integrated first degree of BITS or its equivalent with adequate preparation in Biochemistry and Microbiology.

M.E. Chemical; Civil; Computer Science; Mechanical
Integrated first degree of BITS in the same discipline or its equivalent.

M.E. Communication Engineering
Integrated first degree of BITS in Electrical & Electronics/ Electronics & Instrumentation or its equivalent.

M.E. Design Engineering; Manufacturing Systems Engineering
Integrated first degree of BITS in Mechanical or its equivalent or M.Sc.(Tech.) Engineering Technology of BITS or its equivalent with the requirement of taking certain additional courses.

M.E Electrical with specialization in Power Electronics & Drives
Integrated first degree of BITS in Electrical & Electronics/ Electronics & Instrumentation or its equivalent.

M.E. Embedded Systems
Integrated first degree of BITS in Electrical & Electronics/ Electronics & Instrumentation/ Computer Science or its equivalent.

M.E. Microelectronics
Integrated first degree of BITS in Electrical & Electronics/ Electronics & Instrumentation/ Computer Science/ Physics or its equivalent.

M.E. Software Systems
Any Integrated first degree of BITS or its equivalent with specific prior preparation.

M.Pharm.
Integrated first degree of BITS in Pharmacy or its equivalent.

MBA
Any Integrated first degree of BITS or B.E./ B.Tech degree in engineering disciplines from any other recognized University.

Ph.D.
Any Higher Degree of BITS or its equivalent. Any applicant with qualification equivalent to integrated first degree of BITS will be first examined for suitability to one of the higher degree programmes of the Institute.

Employed professionals having long experience and proven competence aspiring for Ph.D. programme will be considered under the ‘Ph.D. Aspirants’ scheme and will be allowed to pursue their research at their own locations of work.

Note:
For the above programmes, shortlisted candidates will be asked to come to pilani for tests and interview at their own cost.
Applicants for ME embedded Systems and ME Microelectronics will also be interviewed for scholarship sponsored by Philips Semiconductors International and if selected will get tuition fee waiver and a monthly stipend of Rs.7000/-.

Assistantships for teaching career: Applicants for admission to the higher degree and Ph.D.programme will also be considered for financial assistance in the form of Teaching/Project/ Research Assistantships. Such selected candidates will be required to participate in teaching and other development programme of the Institute under the guidance of a mentor. Assistantships with full fee waiver will be provided to such candidates. The total compensation amounts to about Rs.2 lakhs per annum depending upon their involvement in the institute activities.

Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode - Admission to Executive Management Education Program (eMEP)

Applications are invited for the admissions to the sixth batch of one year Executive Management Education Program (eMEP)

The Executive Management Education Programme (eMEP), the first of its kind to be offered in the Asia Pacific region, is designed exclusively for working professionals. As an individual grows in an organization, each higher step commensurate to the role he is assigned. The training and development of its executive workforce by offering a wide spectrum of courses encompassing all functional areas of management. The program is delivered through interactive Onsite Learning (IOL) mode with technology from Hughes India and the classes can be attended by the participants at any of their HughesNet classrooms and Fusion Centers across various location in India.

With the aim of making the programme as rigorous as the foundation courses of our highly acclaimed regular, residential Post Graduate Programme in Management, from this year, the learning hours of this yearlong eMEP are being increased. Program Eligibility:

Graduates/CA/ICWA with minimum work experience of 5 years. Executive with longer and quality work experience would be preferred.

Selection:

Applicants would be selected through executive management aptitude test (eMAT) specifically designed for this program. Shortlisted candidates may be required to attend interviews through technology platform.

Application Forms For Admission To MBA / MCA - 2006

Chennai: Application forms for admission to MBA/MCA courses, offered in the engineering colleges under the purview of the Directorate of Technical Education and in the arts and science colleges and standalone institutions under the purview of the Directorate of Collegiate Education for 2006-07, will be issued from June 15.

The centers where the forms will be given are the Directorate of Technical Education, Chennai; Thanthai Periyar Government Institute of Technology, Vellore; Government College of Engineering, Bargur; Government College of Engineering, Salem; Government College of Technology, Coimbatore; Alagappa Chettiar College of Engineering and Technology, Karaikudi; Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai; Government College of Engineering, Tirunelveli; Presidency College, Chennai; Government Arts College, Coimbatore; Government Arts College, Kumbakonam; Government Arts College, Paramakudi; St. Xavier’s College, Palayamkottai; Jamal Mohameed College, Tiruchi; and S.T. Hindu College, Nagercoil.

The cost is Rs 150 for SC/ST candidates and Rs. 300 for others, says a release.

The fee should be paid through demand draft drawn in favour of The Secretary, Tamil Nadu M.B.A/M.C.A Admissions 2006, Government College of Technology, Coimbatore, payable at Coimbatore, dated not earlier than June 12.

Applications can be obtained by post by sending a self-addressed stamped envelope to the value of Rs. 50, along with the demand draft in an envelope super scribed, `Requisition for Application Form for Admission to M.B.A/M.C.A Degree Courses 2006.’
