Exam Details:
Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences was given a status of Deemed University from 29th September, 2003 by Human Resource Development Ministry, Govt. of India on the advise of UGC under section (3) of UGC Act 1956 vide their notification No. F-9-11/2000-U.3. We have following constituent institutions, Applications are invited from eligible candidates for Common Entrance Test (UG-AICET-2006) to be conducted by Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences, Loni for selection of students to MBBS/BDS/B.P.Th./B.Sc. Nursing/(B.Sc.+M.Sc.) Integrated Medical Biotechnology courses run by the colleges of Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences Loni.

The respective Colleges are recognized by U.G.C./M.C.I./D.C.I./I.A.P./N.C.I. for both U.G. & P.G. courses. Candidates who have appeared for and are expecting results on or before 6th June 2006 of respective final qualifying examinations can also appear for the Entrance Test.

Mode of Entrance Test: The AICET - 2006 will be of three hours duration. There will be one question paper for the CET consisting 200 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), 50 each in Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology. Each correct answer carries one mark. There is no negative marking.

Eligibility:
Candidate fulfilling the following criteria shall be eligible to appear for AICET- 2006.

1. A candidate must be Indian National, The Nationality Certificate issued by the District Magistrate / Additional District Magistrate / Chief Metropolitan Magistrate or a valid Passport shall constitute the proof of Nationality.

2. The candidates must be either of 17 years of age or attain this age as on 31.12.2006 (i.e. the candidate should not have been born after 31.12.1989)

3. Candidate should have passed H S C ( 10+ 2 ) or equivalent examination from a recognized Board with English, securing minimum 50 % marks (40 % for candidates belonging to Backward classes.) in aggregate of the subjects namely Physics, Chemistry and Biology ( or Botany & Zoology ). The Backward class candidates must attach a copy of the Cast and Cast Verification Certificate along with the application form. It should however be noted that there is no reservation for Backward Class students. This certificate is required in support of relaxation of eligibility criteria if the candidate from Backward class gets an admission on the basis of AICET 2006 merit list but has scored marks at HSC level. In case of admission M.Sc.) Integrated Course, a not less than 50 % marks Chemistry and Mathematics eligible to appear for AICET.

4. Candidates who have appeared equivalent examination and will be declared before Counseling will also be eligible for AICET- 2006.

The Delhi University Medical-Dental Entrance Test (DUMET) for admission to Under-Graduate courses, i.e. MBBS and BDS will be held on Sunday, 21st May 2006 at Delhi.

Eligibility:
Educational Qualification for admission to MBBS/ BDS course: The candidates must have passed 12th class examination under 10+2 systems with required subjects, i.e. Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English from a recognised school conducting regular Classes and situated within the National Capital Territory of Delhi. The candidates must have passed in the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks (40% marks for candidates belonging to SC/ ST category) taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The candidates must have studied 11th and 12th classes regularly from a recognised school situated within the National Capital Territory of Delhi.

Female candidates belonging to Schedule Caste (SC)/ Schedule Tribe (ST)/ Children, Widows & Wives of Armed & Para Military Personnel (CWWAPP) category who have passed qualifying examination from Indian Boards/Universities or Foreign Boards/ Universities may also apply for admission to Lady Hardinge Medical College. The condition of studying 11th and 12th class from a school situated with the National Capital Territory of Delhi shall not be applicable to these candidates.

How to Apply:
Interested candidates may apply on the prescribed application form. The application form along with Bulletin of Information (BOI) is obtainable from the office of the Assistant Registrar, Faculty of Medical Sciences, 6th Floor, V. P. Chest Institute Building, University of Delhi, Delhi-110007, against a bank Draft/Bankers Cheque drawn on any Nationalised Bank in favour of Registrar, University of Delhi payable at Delhi, in the following manner:

Exam Details: Applications are invited for admission to the MBBS course at Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune, commencing from 01 Aug 2006. Total 130 candidates (including a maximum of 25 girls) will be selected. All the 105 boys and 25 girls admitted to Armed Forces Medical College, Pune have compulsory liability to serve as commissioned officers in the Armed Forces Medical Services on graduation. The type of commission will depend upon the vacancies available and merit-cum-option at the final MBBS examination. The liability of the SSC officers passing out of AFMC to serve the Armed Forces Medical Services would be seven (7) years. All candidates admitted to the college are required to execute a bond to this effect for an amount of Rs. 15 lacs (Rupees Fifteen lacs) at the time of joining the college. Students removed from service liability due to any reason will have to pay the bond money as per conditions laid down by Govt of India. Ten seats are reserved for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidates who also have similar service liability and have to fulfill the requirements of medical fitness, age, educational qualification and qualifying the entrance examination.

Eligibility: Applicants must have passed the XII standard/pre-professional/ premedical examination or equivalent examination of statutory Indian University/Board or any other recognized Board/University as a regular student in all the subjects opted for in FIRST ATTEMPT with the subjects of English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology securing not less than 60% of aggregate marks in the three science subjects taken together, not less than 50% marks in each of the science subjects and not less than 50% marks in English. They must have also passed an examination in Mathematics at least of the matriculation standard. A graduate of B.Sc. examination with not less than two of the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany or Zoology) and also must have passed the earlier qualifying examination i.e. XII standard/Pre professional (Med) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English and obtained marks as stated above.

1) Candidates who are to appear in the qualifying examination (10+2 or equivalent) upto 06 May 2006 may also appear for the test provisionally,

2) The following categories of students are NOT ELIGIBLE to apply:-

a) Candidates who have passed in Domestic Science, Domestic Arithmetic, Lower Maths separately or in combination with other subjects like General Science, Social studies in High School/ Higher Secondary (Multi Purpose) or equivalent examination

b) Candidates who have passed only Pre-University/Pre-Degree (one year course) or Pre-Professional in Agriculture/Veterinary/Dental Examination

c) Candidates who have passed the Pre-Professional or equivalent qualifying examination as private candidates.

Age Limit: Must have attained the age of 17 years on 31 December 2006 but must NOT have attained the age of 22 years on the date i.e. not born earlier than 01 January 1985 and not later than 31 December 1989, if the academic qualification of the candidate is 10+2 or equivalent. A candidate who has passed B.Sc. examination or will be appearing in final B.Sc. examination and seeks admission must not have attained the age of 24 years on 31 December 2006 i.e. must have been born not earlier than 01 January 1983.

Candidates selected in the written test, will be called for interview at PUNE in the month of June 2006. No TA/DA would be admissible to the candidates either for written test, interview or at the time of reporting for admission. The Govt will provide free accommodation and entitled rations, subsidised messing, second class railway fare from college to home and back during vacations, a book subsidy of Rs. 8,000/- during entire training period, uniform allowance of Rs. 2500/- per student during first year and Rs. 500/- per year as maintenance allowance in subsequent years and any other miscallowances as applicable. All candidates should be medically fit as per laid down standards for the Armed Forces. Only unmarried candidates are eligible. Marriage during the course is not permitted. The Karnataka Private Medical & Dental Colleges Association, in their endeavour to offer an effective, fair and objective testing procedure to determine merit of students wanting to seek admissions to the Member Institutions, have formed Consortium of Medical Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka COMEDK.

The Consortium of Medical Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK) has been assigned the task of organising a common entrance test for the academic year 2007-2008, for candidates aspiring to pursue Post Graduate Courses in Medical and Dental studies in the state of Karnataka, in colleges run by Private Medical and Dental Colleges who are Member Institutions of the consortium.

COMEDK Post Graduate Entrance Test-2007 (COMEDK PGET-2007) COMEDK will conduct a separate entrance test for Medical and a separate entrance test for Dental Post Graduate courses called COMEDK PGET-2007, for candidates seeking admission to Post Graduate courses in Medical and Dental studies. The entrance test is being conducted for use by COMEDK Member Institutions only. The COMEDK entrance test is mandatory for candidates seeking admissions for the Post Graduate courses in Member Institutions. The COMEDK PGET-2007 test scores are valid only for admissions during the academic year 2007-2008.

The COMEDK PGET-2007 will be conducted only at centres in Bangalore on Sunday the 11th February 2007

About Member Institutions: Twenty-eight unaided, private Medical and Dental colleges affiliated to COMEDK, across the State of Karnataka, offer various courses in Medical and Dental studies at Post Graduate level. The courses offered at the Post Graduate level include both Degree and Diploma programs. Claims made by candidates as belonging to Karnataka origin or Religious or Linguistic minority status etc is not verified while sending TAT for COMEDK-PGET 2007. However, if such a candidate qualifies for attending centralised counseling, it will be his/her responsibility to furnish original documents issued by competent authorities to the satisfaction of COMEDK authorities, failing which such a candidate will be considered only under All India General Merit.

Inter-change of category status will not be entertained during the course of PGET process (i.e. students appearing under General Merit category will be considered for eligibility in that category only).

Test Scheme: There will be one test for PG Medical and one test for PG Dental Courses. Each test will have 180 multiple-choice questions (MCQ).

The time allotted for the test would be 180 minutes. The test will begin at 10:00am and end at 1:00pm

Candidates are required to mark their answers in an OMR (Optical Mark Reader) Answer Sheet.

Each correct answer is awarded one mark.

There will be no Negative Marking.

No Mark/s will be awarded for multiple marking (marking multiple responses) of any question.

Eligibility:
Degree / Diploma Programs: Applicants must meet all requirements stipulated by MCI / DCI. Accordingly, they should have successfully passed their MBBS/ BDS from an institution recognised by MCI/DCI, and must have completed or completing their internship by 30/04/07.

MCI / DCI Norms: Every student, selected for admission to the Post Graduate medical / dental course in any of the medical/ dental institutions in the country, shall possess recognized MBBS/ BDS degree or equivalent qualification and should have obtained permanent registration with the Medical Council of India/ Dental Council of India, or any of the State Medical/ Dental Council or should obtain the same with in one month from the date of admission, failing which the admission of the candidate shall be cancelled.

Provided that in the case of a foreign national, the Medical Council of India / Dental Council of India may, on payment of the prescribed fee for the registration, grant temporary registration for the duration of the Post Graduate training restricted to the college / institution to which the applicant is admitted for the time being exclusively for Post Graduate studies; Provided further, that temporary registration to such foreign national shall be subjected to the condition that such person is duly registered as medical practitioner in his own country from which the applicant has obtained his / her basic medical / dental qualification and that his / her degree is recognized by the corresponding Council or concerned authority.

As per the Post Graduate Regulation 2000 of Medical Council of India, the minimum percentage of marks in the entrance test (COMEDK PGET-2007) for eligibility for admission to Post Graduate Courses shall be 50 percent for general category candidates and 40 percent for the candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes (As declared by State Government of Karnataka from time to time).

As specified by the Dental Council of India, the minimum percentage of marks in the entrance test (COMEDK PGET-2007) for admission to Post Graduate Dental courses shall be 50% for all the candidates (Reference: DCI. Letter No. DE 14-2004/1135 dated 05 May 2004).

Rank list / Card will be prepared only for those students who are eligible for admission to Post Graduate Courses as per the Medical Council of India or Dental Council of India Regulations.

The process involves the following stages:

Ensure that the DD for Rs.1500/-(Rupees One Thousand Five Hundred Only), along with all the marks cards and the attempt certificate are kept ready before filling up the Online Application form. Click below link or visit comedk website

Take a print of the filled in Application form and Date of Birth / Declaration form.

The Application form is said to be complete only if it is enclosed with all the documents mentioned below and posted to COMEDK office.

Non-refundable fee for taking COMEDK PGET-2007 and attending centralised counseling, if eligible, is Rs. 1500/- (Rupees One Thousand Five Hundred Only). DD for Rs.1500/- should be drawn in favour of COMEDK-2007, payable at Bangalore and should be enclosed with the application after recording application number on the back of DD.

Test Admission Tickets and Related Information

Candidates appearing for COMEDK PGET-2007 will be issued a Test Admission Ticket (TAT) for identification. Candidates are required to bring the TAT and the original declaration form duly attested by the Head of the Institution where he/she has studied last, as submitted along with the application form. This is mandatory.

The TATs would contain the PGET-2007 test centre assigned to the candidate. The candidates are assigned a test centre during the application processing, and no requests for change in centre would be considered.

The TATs would be dispatched to the candidates at the address they mention in their application form, by 02/01/2007.

Change of address, if any, during the process of COMEDK PGET-2007 must be intimated through registered post / certified dispatch to COMEDK office; the responsibility for the same rests solely with the applicants, and COMEDK, is not responsible for the same. Indian Postal order and Bank Draft drawn on any other bank other than the banks mentioned above will not be entertained.
