General Information

For all courses, where MBBS/BDS is an eligible requirement, the candidate who have made more than one attempt (i.e. have more than one failure, compartment or reappear) during their MBBS/BDS course, are not eligible. For DM/M.Ch., courses, the candidates who have made more than one attempt in MBBS/MD/MS career are not eligible. However, those belonging to Sch. Caste/Tribes with upto two attempts in their MBBS/BDS career will be eligible for MD/MS, and House Job in Oral Health Sciences.

The candidates completing internship after 31.12.2006 are not eligible for course No. 1,2 and 3.

The number of seats wherever indicated are provisional and may increase/decrease without any prior notice.
The courses at Sr. No. 7 to 15 are only for Sponsored/Deputed Candidates.

A candidate applying for more than one subject/course except category 1,2 & 3 is required to submit separate application complete in all respect for each subject/course.

The candidates may apply in the form downloadable (for Sr. No. 1,2,3 and 4) at http://pgimer.nic.in together with requisite fee by Demand Draft in the name of Director, PGI. The prescribed application forms alongwith prospectus (Brochure of information) are also available from the office of the undersigned either personally on payment of Rs.500/- for general category and Rs.400/- for SC/ST at the counter (Kairon Block, Room No.306) from 10.30 AM to 12.30 P.M. and from 2.30 PM to 3.30 PM on all working days except Saturdays (On Saturdays, forms will be available from 10.30 AM to 12.00 Noon) or by post for which the request must be accompanied with a self addressed thick envelope of size 24 x 15 cm bearing postage stamps of Rs.25/- and Bank Draft preferably from any SBI branch payable at SBI Medical Institute Branch (Code NO.1524), Chandigarh for General Rs.500/- and for SC/ST Rs.400/- (indicating category i.e. General or SC/ST) drawn in favour of the Director, PGI, Chandigarh. However, prospectus for DM/M.Ch. will be available for Rs.500/- only as there is no reservation for the same.

All India post Graduate Entrance Examination for Admission Under 50% Open Merit Seats Quota in ME/MS/PG Diploma and MDS Courses in Medical & Dental Colleges.

Applications are invited in the prescribed form for All India Post Graduate Medical / Dental Entrance Examination (AIPGMEE 2007) to be conducted by All India Institute of Medical Sciences on Sunday, the 14th January, 2007 for admission under open merit seats quota in various Postgraduate (MD/MS/PG Diploma & MDS) courses in Medical & Dental Colleges in the country run by the Union of India. State Governments (except Government of Andhra Pradesh and J&K) and Municipal or other local authorities.

Eligibility Criteria: (1) Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply. (2) The candidate must possess MBBS/BDS degree from recognized Medical Dental College or a foreign degree included in the schedules to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 And full registration either from the Medical / Dental Council of India or State Medical / Dental Council after completing the compulsory rotating internship. (3) Candidates who have obtained MBBS / BDS from Medical / Dental Colleges in Andhra Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir are eligible to apply. However, candidates who were nominated by the Government of India (Ministry of Health & Family Welfare / D.G.H.S., New Delhi) to do MBBS / BDS for Medical / Dental Colleges in Andhra Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir are eligible to apply subject to submission of requisite documents specified in the Prospectus (4) The candidates should complete the required period of pre-registration internship in a recognized Hospital by 31stMarch, 2007.

The Prospectus-cum-Application Form costing Rs.500/- (Rs.400/- in case of SC/ST candidates) inclusive of examination fee can be obtained in the following Manner.

1) Against cash payment form any of the following branches of State Bank of India between 23.10.2006 to 11.11.2006.

II) By Post: The Prospectus-cum-Application Form can also be obtained By Speed Post / Registered Post by sending a written request with an account payee Bank Draft for Rs.550/- in case of SC/ST candidates) in the name of AIPGMEE 2007. The Bank Draft issued by the S.B.I should be drawn on State Bank of India, Service Branch (CODE NO. 7687), New Delhi and should be valid upto March / April 2007. The request must reach the Assistant Controller of Examination, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Ansari Nagar, New Delhi 110 029 before 11.11.2006 request received thereafter will not be entertained. Money Order / Cheque / Postal Order / Cash or any other form of payment will NOT be accepted for postal sale. The words Request For Application Form for AIPGMEE 2007 should be written on the envelop containing request for application form, and also on top of the request letter. The address at which Application Form is required should be written clearly in CAPITAL LETTER and with PIN code. AIIMS will not be responsible for delay in / non-receipt of Application Form caused by illegible or incomplete address.

Important:(1) Candidates must be obtaining application forms only from an authorized branch of S.B.I. or by post from Examination Section of AIIMS. Forms obtained from an unauthorized source will be rejected. (2) Candidates are advised to procure that application forms as early as possible instead of waiting for the last date. If the Application Forms are sold out before the last date of sale and the same are not available. AIIMS / State Bank of India or its specified branches will not be responsible for any consequences that may arise due to non-availability of forms. In case a candidate does not get the form through Post Office in time. AIIMS will not be responsible for such lapses.

Applications are invited for admission to BSMS/BAMS/BUMS/ BHMS/BNYS Courses for 2006-2007 in Government and Self financing Medical Colleges in Tamil Nadu from the candidates passed in Higher Secondary Courses.

The above applications are called for the vacant seats only, available in Government/self-Financing colleges. On the day of counseling, the candidates who have not applied for the above courses up to 26.10.06 can obtain the application in person at Government Siddha Medical College, Chennai-600 106/Govt. Unani Medical College, Chennai-600 106/Govt. Yoga and Naturopathy Medical college, Chennai-600 016 and participate in the Walk-in-counselling.

The candidates are informed that only those who have appeared for TNPCEE 2006 conducted by Anna University, Chennai are eligible for admission to the above courses. The candidate who appeared in TNPCEE 2006 should have obtained a minimum of 40% marks in the said Entrance Examination in the subjects of Physical Science and biological Science taken together. However, for SC/ST candidates, the minimum marks shall be 30%. The selection for admission will be made based solely on the marks obtained by the candidates in the Higher Secondary examination and in the Entrance Examination.

Application form and prospectus for BSMS/BAMS/BUMS/BHMS/BNYS courses will be available from 17.10.2006 onwards from the Principal, Govt. Siddha Medical College, Chennai-600 016.

Applications are BSMS/BAMS/BUMS/BHMS/BNYS courses and prospectus etc. will be issued either in person or by post on written application with Crossed Demand draft for Rs.70/- (Rupees seventy only) should be enclosed along with the requisition. Delay on the part of Postal Department will not be considered. The applications will be issued to the candidates on all days including all Saturdays and Sundays.
SC/ST candidates are exempted from paying the cost of application fee of Rs.500/-

SC/ST candidates have to produce a Xerox copy of the Community Certificate along with a requisition containing the following particulars for getting the application form.1. Name 2. Address 3. School last studied, 4. Whether the candidate belongs to SC or ST 5. Signature 6. Candidates should have passed in HSC Examination (Evidence to be produced), 7. SC/ST (Tamil nadu) candidate on production of attested Xerox copy of the community certificate along with the requisition as above may obtain the application form by post by sending the requisition with ordinary postal stamp to the value of Rs.70/-

In the case of candidates, who have furnished the marks sheets of the qualifying examination, only in Grades, the minimum marks of the grades alone will be taken into consideration while determining the marks in the Science Subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Botany and Zoology.

Age: Candidate should have completed the age of 17 years on or before 31.12.2006. No request for age relaxation will be entertained.
