Admission for Research Scholars Program 2007

The CDFD (Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics) Hyderabad, is a premier institute in the country, which provides services in DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics and conducts basic research in different areas of modern molecular and cellular biology. The main themes of research at CDED are:

We invite applications from highly motivated candidates, willing to take up challenges in modern biology, for admissions to our Research Scholars program. Keeping in view the interdisciplinary nature of modern biology, we especially encourage persons from diverse backgrounds to apply. Those admitted as Research Scholars would be encouraged to apply for the Ph.D. program of Manipal Academy of Higher Education or University of Hyderabad.

Eligibility: M.B.B.S. or Masters Degree in any branch of Science, Technology, or Agriculture. Candidates (other than MBBS graduates) must have cleared the CSIR / UGC / DBT / ICMR / ICAR NET for JRF. Those who have appeared, but are awaiting results, are also eligible to apply. However, only those candidates will be considered who produce proof of having cleared the CSIR / UGC / DBT / IMCR / ICAR NET JRF except for M.B.B.S. Admission to CDFD Research Scholars program is based on a 2-tier system involving a written test followed by interview of candidates who have qualified the written test.

From the current Academic year, CDFD is pleased to announce upto two research fellowships for the candidates with MBBS. The admission procedure will remain the same.

In the case of candidates whose JRF examination results are announced after 20th April but before 12th May, 2007 they will be eligible to appear for the CDFD examination upon furnishing the relevant details of having cleared the JRF / NET with fellowship.

General Information:

Sponsored and part-time candidates are also considered for M.Tech. M.Des and Ph.D. Programmes. Sponsored candidates do not require GATE qualification. Reservation: The reservation for the year 2007 2008 (Session) will be 15% for SC, 7.5% for ST and 11.8% for OBC subject to the approval of competent authority. For persons with disability (PD) 3% reservation shall apply as per Government of India rules.

Admission to MCA Programme 2007

ER&DCI Institute of Technology affiliated to Cochin University of Science & Technology and approved by AICTE, offers admission to the three year MCA Programme through the Common Admission Test (CAT) conducted by Cochin University of Science & Technology (CUSAT)

Eligibility:

No. of seats: 60 50% Merit seats and 50% Management seats.

Selection:

The admission to all seats are by merit, based on entrance scored in the CAT test. There will be not separate entrance examination conducted by ER&DCI IT for admission to its MCA Programme. The MCA offered by ER&DCI IT has the added attraction of specialized value added training in advanced software technologies.

Cochin University of Science and Technology Admissions 2007

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission to the following academic programmes for the year 2007-2008. Academic admissions are based on Common Admission Test (CAT)/Departmental Admission Test (DAT)/Test for Lateral Entry (LET) and all applicants intending to apply for the academic programmes listed under 1.1,1.2,2,3.1 and 4 are required to submit their applications through Online Registration whereas for programmes listed under 3.2, 3.3, 3.4, 3.5 and 3.6, the application forms can be had from the concerned departments/schools.

Applicants who have appeared/are appearing for their final qualifying examinations are also eligible to apply. Degrees obtained through distance education programmes other than through IGNOU are not recognized by the regulations of the University in force.

Those who are applying for First Degree Programmes in Engineering & Technology (B.Tech and Integrated M.Sc in Photonics) : the CAT will be conducted with test centres in New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkatta, Chennai, Banglore, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Ranchi, Varanasi, Allahabad, Jamshedpur, Kota, all district head quarters in Kerala and Overseas Centres at Dubai & Bahrain. Those who are applying for PG Programmes / both First Degree Programmes including LL.B and PG Programmes : the CAT will be conducted in the Centres at all the district head quarters in Kerala only. Lateral Entry Test will be conducted only at Kochi Centre. The DATs are conducted at Kochi by the Individual Departments/Schools/Centres of the University on dates to be announced later.

The University reserves the right to cancel any or all the notified Test-Centres for administrative reasons including dates/rules & regulations relating to programmes of study, eligibility and admission criteria, fee structure and other relevant matters. All disputes relating to CAT shall be subject to the jurisdiction of Courts at Kochi only. Appearance in the CAT or figuring in the rank list does not ipso facto confer any right for admission to a particular course unless found suitable as per the eligibility criteria as amended from time to time.

d. B.Tech in Instrumentation

Pass in Plus Two examination of the State of Kerala with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as optional subjects or any other examination accepted as equivalent thereto securing a minimum of 60% marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together, with at least 55% in Mathematics separately.
e. B.Tech. in Marine Engg. (Residential Programme)

1) Pass in Plus Two or equivalent examination with physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English as separate subjects with a PCM average of not less than 60% marks and should have obtained 50% marks in English at 10th or 12th standards.

2) Vocational/Diploma students are not eligible to apply.
3) The Maximum age limit prescribed is 20 years as on 1st October 2007.
