The Joint Entrance Examination for the year 2007 - 2008, Orissa shall be held on Sunday, May 27, 2007 at selected centres for admission to the first year Degree courses in Engineering/Technology, Architecture, Hotel Management and Catering Technology (HMCT), MBBS/BDS, Pharmacy, MCA, MBA and to the Lateral Entry of State candidates to third semester of degree courses in Engineering/Technology, HMCT and Pharmacy.

Eligibility
For admission to First Year Bachelor programme in

(i) Engineering/Technology: Pass or appearing in 10+2 examination of CHSE, Orissa or equivalent with Physics, Mathematics, and one from Chemistry/ Computer Science/Biology/Biotechnology or pass in 10+3 diploma course in engineering including those having less than 60% marks in aggregate from SCTE&T, Orissa or equivalent.

(ii) Architecture: For admission to Architecture candidates are to secure minimum 50% marks in aggregate in 10+2 Examination of CHSE, Orissa or equivalent with Mathematics and one from Physics/Chemistry/ Computer Science/Biology/Engineering Drawing.10+3 years diploma with 50 % marks in aggregate can also apply.

(iii) Pharmacy: Pass or appearing in 10+2 examination of CHSE, Orissa or equivalent with Physics and Chemistry and one from Mathematics/Biotechnology/Computer Science /Biology or pass in 10+3 diploma course in Pharmacy including those having less than 60% marks in aggregate from SCTE&T, Orissa or equivalent.

(iv) Hotel Management and Catering Technology: Pass or appearing in 10+2 examination in Arts/Commerce/Science from CHSE, Orissa or equivalent.

(v) MBBS/BDS: Pass or appearing in 10+2 examination of CHSE, Orissa or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Biology with atleast 50% marks in aggregate in these subjects taken together (40% for SC/ST) with age between 17 and 25 years as on 31.7.2007 (relaxable up to 3 years for SC/ST candidates).
For admission to First Year Masters programme in

(i) Computer Application (MCA): Pass or appearing in 2007 three years Bachelors Degree examination in any discipline with pass in Mathematics at 10+2 level or in +3 level.

(ii) Business Administration (MBA): Pass or appearing in 2007 three years Bachelors Degree examination in any discipline from a UGC recognized University.

For admission to Second Year Engineering/Technology, Pharmacy and HMCT under Lateral Entry : Pass or appearing in 3 years diploma course in Engineering, Pharmacy, and HMCT with atleast 60% marks in aggregate from SCTE&T, Orissa or equivalent.

For admission to Second Year Engineering/Technology under Lateral Entry: Pass or appearing in 2007, for the Bachelors Degree examination of three years duration in Science from any University of Orissa or equivalent recognised by UGC and have passed with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate(First Division) with Mathematics at +3 level.

For admission to Second Year Pharmacy under Lateral Entry: Pass or appearing in 2007, for the Bachelors Degree examination of three years duration in Science from any University of Orissa or equivalent recognised by UGC and have passed with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate ( First Division) with Biology at +3 level.
The ratio of distribution of seats under lateral entry for Diploma : B. Sc. is 80:20.

Note: Candidates are to produce their complete result alongwith original marksheet of qualifying examination at the time of counselling for admission.

Reservation: The percentage of seats to be reserved for different categories is subject to change and the decision of the State Government as on the date of admission will be applicable.

Outside State candidate: Outside State candidates are not eligible for admission in Govt. Colleges but they are eligible for admission to Privates Colleges.

Old question papers of JEE-2005 and JEE-2006 for Rs 10/- per booklet will be on sale from the following branches of Syndicate Bank only subject to availability: Angul, Balasore, Baripada, Berhampur, Bhubaneswar (Kalpana Square, Nayapalli, Vanivihar), Cuttack (Choudhury Bazar), Rourkela, Sambalpur and all branches of State Bank of India as mentioned above.

Total emoluments including all allowances shall be Rs.26,121/- per month.

c) Minimal Qualification: B.Sc. with Physics/Electronics/Computer Science with minimum Second Class in the qualifying examination or Diploma in Electronics/Electrical/Instrumentation/Computer (Approved by Board of Technical Education) or PUC with 3 years Experience as EEG Technician.

Certificate Course in Neuroimaging & Technology (CNT)

a) No. of Seats: 2 (*for sponsored only)
b) Duration: 1 Year

c) Minimal Qualification: Diploma in Radiographic Technology from Vocational Board of Government of Karnataka or equivalent qualification or Bachelors degree in Radiation Technology from any recognized University or equivalent qualification.

Sponsored candidates means sponsored by the State/Central Government or Public Sector Undertaking of State/Central Government.

Common for all Courses: The qualifying degrees for all the above mentioned courses should be from a recognized University. For medical qualification, the degree should be recognized by the Medical Council of India.

F) Guidelines:

In respect of Medical Courses, the candidates should have completed one-year internship and registration with State Medical Council on or before 31st July 2007 (proof of completion from competent authority to be produced at the time of joining, failing which admission will be cancelled).

H) Reservation of Seats:

In respect of B.Sc. courses and Diploma in Clinical Neurophysiology Technology (DCNT), 15% seats are reserved for SC, 7.5% seats are reserved for ST and 27% seats are reserved for OBC Candidates.

Application Fee: For Medical and Superspeciality courses, an Application fee of Rs.500/- (non-refundable) (Rs.400/- in case of SC/ST candidates) and registration fee of Rs.500/- per course must accompany the Application form failing which the Application form will be treated as incomplete and rejected without any further communication. In case of B.Sc. and Diploma courses the application fee is Rs.500/- (non-refundable) (Rs.400/- in case of SC/ST candidates).

Candidates may apply for more than one course provided they are eligible.]

Candidates can apply in the same application form for all Superspeciality/Post Doctoral Fellowship courses. Candidates applying for B.Sc. and Diploma Courses should apply on separate application for each course.
Foreign Nationals are required to submit their applications through the Diplomatic Channel (through the Ministry of External Affairs). They shall also appear for the common Entrance Test along with the other candidates.

Sponsored candidates should submit their application through proper channel and they should also appear for the Common Entrance Test.

Age limit: For superspeciality Courses age should not be more than 32 years for MBBS degree holders and 35 for PG medical degree holders, relaxable in case of SC/ST Candidates by a maximum of 5 years as on 1.8.2007. For sponsored candidates age should not be more than 40 years as on 1.8.2007.

For B.Sc. courses, age should not be less than 17 years as on 1.8.2007 and should not have completed 25 years as on 1.8.2007.

Duly filled in application should be sent to the Director, NIMHANS, Hosur Road, Bangalore 560 029 along with a Demand Draft drawn in favour of Director, NIMHANS by superscribing the name of the course applied for on the Envolope without fail.

Applications down loaded from the Website should be accompanied by a Demand Draft of Rs.500/- (Non refundable) (Rs.400/- in case of SC/ST) towards application fee and Registration fee as indicated as above in case of Superspeciality/Post Doctoral Fellowship courses. There is no registration fee for B.Sc. and Diploma courses.

A common Entrance Examination will conducted in selected Centres in Tamil Nadu the Annamalai University for the candidates who intend to seek Admission for the following Self-Financing Programmes in the University for the year 2007-2008.

Appearing for the Entrance Examinations is Compulsory for the Candidates Seeking admission to the above. Programme. These Entrance Examinations are for the Candidates of Tamil Nadu and also Other States in India.

This Notification relates only to the Entrance Examinations. Candidates are advised to refer to separate Notification which will be issued during Third Week on May 2007 by the University inviting Applications for Admission to the various Programmes.

Selection to various programmes will be governed by the procedures laid down by the University.

General Instructions: Candidates who are appearing for Higher Secondary or Equivalent Qualifying Examinations during March May 2007 and Candidates who have already passed H.Sc. OR other equivalent Qualifying Examinations are eligible to apply for these Entrance Examinations.

The Entrance Examinations will be conducted in the following Scheduled and Subject**

Paper 1: Biology (Botany & Zoology) : 16.05.2007 (Forenoon)

Paper 2: Physical Sciences (Physical & Chemistry) : 16.05.2007 (Afternoon)

Questions for the above Examinations will be based only on the Syllabi and Text Books prescribed for the Second Year of the Tamil Nadu H.Sc. (Academic Course).

Admission will be made on the basis of marks obtained in the relevant Subjects in the Qualifying Examinations (H.Sc. OR Equivalent) and in the Entrance Examinations, besides an Interview to be conducted by the University.

The selection will be made on the basis of aggregate marks obtained in
i) Qualifying Examinations 200
ii) Entrance Examination 100 and
iii) Interview 30.
