Central Police Forces (Assistant Commandants) Examination, 2006

The Union Public Service Commission will hold an Examination on 8th October 2006 for recruitment of Assistant Commandants (Group A) in Central Police Forces (CPF) viz. Central Reserve Police (CRPF), Border Security Force (BSF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB). The examination will be held at various centers across the country.

Salient features of the examination are published herein for general information of Candidates. For details regarding eligibility conditions, the syllabus and scheme of the Examination, centers of examination, guidelines for filling up application form etc.Aspirants must consult the Detailed Notice of the examination published in the Employment News/Rozgar Samachar dated 6th May 2006.

Conditions of Eligibility:

Age Limits:

Candidates must have attained the age of 20 years and must not have attained the age of 25 years as on 1st August 2006. The upper age limit is relaxable for Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes/Other Backward Classes and certain other categories of candidates to the extent specified in the Notice.

Educational Qualifications: Degree of a recognized University or an equivalent qualification.

Sex:

Both Male and Female candidates are eligible for appointment to CRPF, ITBP and CISF. However only male candidates are eligible for appointment to BSF and SSB.

Physical and Medical Standards: Candidates must meet the physical and medical standards specified in Appendix VI of the Notice.

NCC B and C Certificate Holders:

Possession of NCC B and C Certificate will be a desirable qualification. The desirable qualifications will be given consideration at the time of Interview /Personality Test only.

Selection Procedure:

Selections will be made on the basis of a Written Examination to be conducted by the UPSC followed by the Physical Standards/Physical Efficiency Tests and Medical Standard Tests to be conducted by the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Personality Test /Interview to be conducted by UPSC.

Application Form:

The Candidates must apply in the Common Application Form devised by the Commission for its examinations which can be purchased from the designated HEAD Post Offices/Post Offices (Specified in Appendix-III of the Notice) throughout the Country against cash payment of Rs.20/-(Rupees Twenty only). Each such Form can be used only once and only for one examination.

In case of any difficulty in obtaining Application Forms from the designated HPOs/POs, the candidates should immediately contact the concerned Post Master or UPSCs FORMS SUPPLY MONITORING CELL over Telephone No.011-23389366/ Fax No.011-23387310.

Examination Fee:

The Examination Fee will be Rs.100/-(Rupees one Hundred only) to be paid through central Recruitment Fee Stamp only. SC/ST Candidates are exempted from payment of Fees. (OBC candidates are required to pay full fees).

Address and Last Date for Receipt of Applications:

All applications must reach the Secretary, Union Public Service Commission, Dholpur House, Shahjahan Road, New Delhi-110 069 either by hand or by Post/Speed Post only or by courier, on or before the 5th June 2006.

However, in respect of candidates residing abroad or in certain remote areas specified in the notice the last date for receipt of applications by Post/Speed Post only (not by hand or by courier) is 12th June 2006.

Students should note that no changes or adjustments shall be made in the admission schedule as mentioned above.

A large number of candidates appear at several entrance tests in the country and many of the candidates, who figure in the merit list of this Vidyapeeth, may not eventually seek admission. Considering this, the Vidyapeeth asks the first 300 candidates to attend the counseling session. This is more than double the number of available general seats. Consequently, it may happen in the case of some candidates that all the available seats will be filled, before their turn comes.

Minimum Qualification:

MBBS and BDS: The candidate must have passed the 10+2, i.e. ISC/Intermediate examination or its equivalent after a period of 12 years of study, the last two years of such study comprising Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English from a recognized Board / University and must have passed in all the above subjects. The candidate must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in the qualifying examination. In respect of the candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBCs the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in qualifying examination to be 40% in lieu of 50% for general candidates.

BAMS and BHMS: The candidates who have passed the 10+2, i.e.ISC/Intermediate examination or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Biology shall be eligible. The candidates who are appearing for the qualifying examination (XII) and result is not yet available are also eligible to appear in the common entrance examination but such candidates shall submit the mark sheet of the qualifying examination (XII) on and before the date specified in the information brochure.

Applications are invited for admission to the MBBS course at Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune, commencing from 01 Aug 2006. Total 130 candidates (including a maximum of 25 girls) will be selected. All the 105 boys and 25 girls admitted to Armed Forces Medical College, Pune have compulsory liability to serve as commissioned officers in the Armed Forces Medical Services on graduation. The type of commission will depend upon the vacancies available and merit-cum-option at the final MBBS examination. The liability of the SSC officers passing out of AFMC to serve the Armed Forces Medical Services would be seven (7) years.

All candidates admitted to the college are required to execute a bond to this effect for an amount of Rs. 15 lacs (Rupees Fifteen lacs) at the time of joining the college. Students removed from service liability due to any reason will have to pay the bond money as per conditions laid down by Govt of India. Ten seats are reserved for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidates who also have similar service liability and have to fulfill the requirements of medical fitness, age, educational qualification and qualifying the entrance examination.

Eligibility:
Applicants must have passed the XII standard/pre-professional/ premedical examination or equivalent examination of statutory Indian University/Board or any other recognized Board/University as a regular student in all the subjects opted for in FIRST ATTEMPT with the subjects of English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology securing not less than 60% of aggregate marks in the three science subjects taken together, not less than 50% marks in each of the science subjects and not less than 50% marks in English.

They must have also passed an examination in Mathematics at least of the matriculation standard. A graduate of B.Sc. examination with not less than two of the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany or Zoology) and also must have passed the earlier qualifying examination i.e. XII standard/Pre professional (Med) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English and obtained marks as stated above.

Note: Candidates who are to appear in the qualifying examination (10+2 or equivalent) upto 06 May 2006 may also appear for the test provisionally,

The following categories of students are NOT ELIGIBLE to apply:-

Candidates who have passed in Domestic Science, Domestic Arithmetic, Lower Maths separately or in combination with other subjects like General Science, Social studies in High School/ Higher Secondary (Multi Purpose) or equivalent examination Candidates who have passed only Pre-University/Pre-Degree (one year course) or Pre-Professional in Agriculture/Veterinary/Dental Examination Candidates who have passed the Pre-Professional or equivalent qualifying examination as private candidates.

Age Limit:

Must have attained the age of 17 years on 31 December 2006 but must NOT have attained the age of 22 years on the date i.e. not born earlier than 01 January 1985 and not later than 31 December 1989, if the academic qualification of the candidate is 10+2 or equivalent. A candidate who has passed B.Sc. examination or will be appearing in final B.Sc. examination and seeks admission must not have attained the age of 24 years on 31 December 2006 i.e. must have been born not earlier than 01 January 1983.

Prospectus and application forms can also be obtained by post from Officer-in-Charge (Admission Cell), Armed Forces Medical College, Pune- 411 040 on payment of Rs. 250/- per copy, only by Bank Draft on any nationalized bank payable at Pune in favour of Commandant, AFMC, Pune, along with full postal address of the candidate on two separate slips of paper (size 9 cms x 5 cms). Please ensure that the Demand Draft bears the code number of the issuing bank. The candidate must write his/her name & address on the back of the Demand Draft.

The candidate should enclose an application for obtaining prospectus and application form giving his/her particulars and address and enclose a self addressed envelope of 11″ X 13″ size and affix postage stamp of Rs.55/-. Bank Drafts on any other banks other than nationalized banks, Money Orders, Cash or Postal Orders will not be accepted. Each request should be accompanied by a separate demand draft. Combined demand draft for more than one application will not be accepted. Candidates selected in the written test, will be called for interview at PUNE in the month of June 2006. No TA/DA would be admissible to the candidates either for written test, interview or at the time of reporting for admission. The Govt will provide free accommodation and entitled rations, subsidised messing, second class railway fare from college to home and back during vacations, a book subsidy of Rs.8,000/- during entire training period, uniform allowance of Rs. 2500/- per student during first year and Rs.500/- per year as maintenance allowance in subsequent years as applicable. All candidates should be medically fit as per laid down standards for the Armed Forces. Only unmarried candidates are eligible. Marriage during the course is not permitted. The college is fully residential both for boys and girls.
