MBBS/BDS/BPT/B.Sc (Nursing) & B.Pharm Entrance Examination 2006

A Common Entrance Examination will be conducted in selected centres in Tamilnadu by the Annamalai University for the candidates who intend to seek admission for the following Self-Financing Programmes in the University for the year 2006-07.

Appearing for the Entrance Examination is Compulsory for the Candidates seeking admission to the above programme. This Entrance Examination are for the candidates of Tamilnadu and also other States of India.

This notification relates only to the Entrance Examinations. Candidates are advised to refer to separate Notification which will be issued during Third week of May 2006 by the University inviting applications for admission to the various programmes.Selection to various Programmes will be governed by the procedures laid down by the University

General Instruction:

Candidates who are appearing for Higher Secondary or Equivalent Qualifying examination during March- May 2006 and candidates who have already passed H.Sc or other equivalent qualifying examinations are eligible to apply for these Entrance Examinations. The Entrance exams will be conducted in the following Scheduled and Subjects.
Paper 1: Biology (Botany & Zology) 15-05-2006 (Forenoon)
Paper 2: Physical Sciences (Physics & Chemistry) 15-05-2006 (Afternoon)

Question for the above examination will be based only on the syllabi and text books prescribed for the second year of the Tamilnadu H.Sc Academic courses.

Admission will be made on the basis of marks obtained in the relevant subjects in the qualifying examination (H.Sc or equivalent) and in the Entrance Examinations., besides an interview to be conducted by the University. The selection will be made on the basis of aggregate marks obtained in Qualifying Examinations-200, Entrance Examination -100, Interview-30.

Method of Payment:

Application forms can be obtained in person by cash payment at the University cash Counter on all working days.(Holidays: All Saturday, Sunday and other Government holidays)

To get application form by Post the candidates should sent a requisition letter along with a DD for Rs.100/-. The DDshould drawn in favour ofTheRegistrar,Annamalai University , Annamalai Nagar-608 002 obtained on or after 27-03-2006 from any bank payable at Chennai and a self addressed Kraft Envelope size 35 cm*15 cm with stamps affixed to the value of Rs.22/-.

Candidates are advised to write their name and address on the reverse side of the Demand Draft.

Application forms will be sent only by ordinary post and the University will not be held responsible for non-receipt of application forms.

Please quote the reference number of the notification in the top of the request letter without fail.

Type of Questions: Multiple-choice questions for written test

Eligibility for Ph.D Programme: B.Sc (Completed or appearing for the finals)

Requirements: Application on plain paper with full bio data including attested copies of mark sheets and certificates of class X, XII, B.Sc, part I and part II (if available)
Minimum Marks in B.Sc-Part I and / or Part II:

55% marks in Chemistry honours with Physics and Mathematics as subsidiary, if the university has a houours system.

55% marks on the aggregate with chemistry Physics Mathematics combination, if the university does not have an honours system (please write we do not have an honours system on the application)
Eligibility to sit for the entrance test:

Around 200 students after initial screening with criteria to be fixed depending on the number of applications received. Approximately 20% of the examinees will be short listed for interview.
Entitlements:

A for outstation examinees-Sleeper class Train fare (short Route) for successful candidates who join the programme.

If admitted Rs. 5000 per month (may be increased later)as stipend for the first two years.

Rs.8000 per month (may be incresed later)upon completion of the M.Sc degree (4 semesters course credit programme) and continuing on to the Ph.D Programme.
