Eligibility: Unmarried candidates born on or after 1st Sept 1986 are eligible to apply, female students receive two year age relaxation.
Candidates must have successfully completed the Senior Secondary School Certificate (10+2) or equivalent with at least 60% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) and at least 50% marks in English either in class X or XII.
Candidates must meet the Physical and Medical Standards laid down by the DG Shipping (for details refer to Institutes web site)
Those expecting results in May/June 2006 can also apply and appear in the online test to be held in different centers. Short listing will be based on their meeting criteria mentioned above for which copy of mark sheet would have to be produced (before the interview) as proof.
Campus: The course will be conducted at the modern well-equipped campus located on the Talegaon-chakan Road, Induri. It is compulsory for all students to reside at the campus except when students are out on internship.
Cost: The total cost for a student is approx. Rs.1.7 lakh per year. Details can be obtained from the Institutes web site.
Financial Aid:
Approximately 17.2% of students receive scholarships based on merit.
To promote female students Rs.10, 000/- has been waived from semester fees.
Industry sponsored scholarships are also available to meritorious students.
Selection Procedure:
Online test will be conducted at the centers mentioned below:
For applications received by 5th March 2006: The test will be conducted in the last week of April 2006 at Mumbai, Chennai, Delhi, Bangalore, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Lucknow and Guwahati.
Candidates will be short-listed based on PCM and online test marks and will be called for interview/medical test at Tolani Maritime Institutes (TMI) campus in early July 2006.
For applications received between 6th March 2006 and 20th June 2006:Applicants will be short -listed on the basis of their PCM marks and called for an online test and interview/medical test to be conducted at TMI campus in early July 2006.M
Selections are based on candidates assessed potential to perform as sea fears. The decision of the Institute will be final and binding on the candidates.
Candidates who are appearing in BITSAT-2006 online test (entrance exams of BITS, Pilani) are exempted from appearing in the online test. BITSAT score will be considered in such cases.
Successful completion of these programs however does not guarantee employment; though TMI has maintained almost 100% placement record over the years. The course commences from the fourth week of August 2006.
Application Prospectus:
Step1: Fill in Application form and submit same online (Form available at the Institutes web site).
Step2: Print the form summary generated online and send it along with a non-refundable Crossed Demand draft of Rs.800/- drawn in favour of Tolani Maritime Institute payable at Pune or Induri to the address stated below. This includes cost of online test.
Alternatively, obtain the application form along with brochure/prospectus(virtually a hard copy of the information available in the website) by post from the institute on request by sending a crossed Demand draft Rs.300/- favouring Tolani Maritime Institute payable at Pune or Induri. Overseas requests must be accompanied by a Bankers Cheque of US$20 or equivalent. Send the filled in application form to the below mentioned address along with Demand as detailed in the prospectus.
Step3: Download admit card for online test from website:
For applications received before 5th March 2006: After 15th March 2006.
For application received after 5th March 2006: After 25th June 2006.

Admission Notice For MBBS course-2006
The Banaras Hindu University will hold All India COMPETITIVE WRITTEN TEST for admission to MBBS course in TWO stages. First stage (PMT- SCREENING- 2006) shall be held on Wednesday 10th May 2006 at Varanasi, Delhi, Kolkata and Hyderabad centers, to screen candidates for eligibility to take PMT-MAIN-2006 to be held on Sunday 18th June 2006 at Varanasi Centre only.
Eligibility: qualifications: Passed intermediate, 10+2 or equivalent examination with a minimum of 50% marks (40% in case of SC/ST candidates) in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together. Candidates appearing in qualifying in examination may also apply.
AGE: Completed 17 years but have not crossed 25 years as on 31st December 2006 (candidates born on or after 1st January 1990 and on or before31st December 1981 need not apply).
Prescribed Application form along with the Information Booklet of PMT-2006 can be obtained.

Application material will be sent by speed/Registered Post, however institute will not be responsible for any loss or postal delay. The request for application must include the name and address of the candidate, and full particulars of the enclosed DD/BC. Two self addressed, preferably typed, white paper slips of 10 cm * 6 cm size MUST also accompany it. The envelope containing requisition for PMT application form and demand draft should be superscribed Request for Application for PMT-2006, BHU Last date for requisition for PMT form by post is Monday 20.02.2006. Incomplete/non-cashable Draft (under amount/unsigned/without Bank Code NO. & Seal) shall not be accepted fro sending the application form.
NOTE: a) Separate Bank Draft will be required for each application form. b) M.O/I.P.O/Cheque shall not be accepted under any circumstances. Application forms from the Office of the Director (PMT-Cell), Institute of Medical Sciences, can be obtained by POST only and not in person. In case forms are not available at Bank of Baroda the same can be obtained by post from Directors Office up to 20.02.2006.
Last date for submission of completed application form: Application forms duly completed must be sent through Registered Post, so as to reach the director (pmt-cell), institute of medical sciences, banaras hindu university, varanasi-221 005 latest by Tuesday the 7th March 2006 up to 4.00 PM. Application forms received after the last date shall not be accepted. Foreign Nationals are not required to appear in the PMT examination for MBBS Course. They may seek admission through respective Ministries of Govt. of India, New Delhi, as per the rules laid down for the purpose and their nomination must reach by 15th July 2006. The cost of application form alongwith the Information Brochure of PGM-CET 2006 and Examination fee is Rs. 1800/- to be payable by Demand Draft / Pay Order drawn on any Scheduled commercial Bank in favour of Director, Medical Education and Research, Mumbai payable at Mumbai. Eligibility Criteria
A candidate must be an Indian National.
A candidate who has passed final MBBS degree examination from a recognised medical college situated in Maharashtra, affiliated to Non-Agricultural Universities or to the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik and who has obtained full registration either from the Medical Council of India or from the Maharashtra Medical Council after completing one year internship training, will be eligible for PGM-CET 2006. The Inservice candidates working on the establishment of Directorate of Health Services, Directorate of ESIS and Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation will be eligible to apply as per the eligibility criteria prescribed by the concerned establishments.
A candidate who is undergoing one year internship training and is likely to complete the same by 31st March, 2006 also will be eligible for PGM-CET 2006.
A candidate who is domicile of Maharashtra and who got admission under 15% quota of All India Entrance Examination for MBBS and who has obtained the MBBS degree from the University situated outside the state of Maharashtra and has obtained full registration either from Medical Council of India, New Delhi or from the concerned State Medical Council will also be eligible for PGM-CET 2006.
