Details: Number of seats: 130 candidates (including a maximum of 25 girls) will be selected. All candidates admitted to AFMC, Pune have compulsory liability to serve as commissioned officers in the Armed Forces Medical Services on graduation. The type of commission will depend upon the vacancies available and merit-cum-option at the final MBBS examination. The liability of the SSC officers passing out of AFMC to serve the Armed Forces Medical Services would be seven years. All candidates admitted to the college are required to execute a bond to this effect for an amount of Rs 1,500,000 at the time of joining the college. Students removed from service liability due to any reason will have to pay the bond money as per conditions laid down by the government of India. Reservations: 10 seats are reserved for SC/ST candidates who also have the above mentioned service liability and have to fulfill the requirements of medical fitness, age, education and qualifying the entrance examination. Special Concessions: The government will provide free accommodation and rations, second-class railway fare from college to home and back during vacations, a book subsidy of Rs 8,000 during the entire training period. Uniform allowance of Rs 2,500 per student during the first year and Rs 500 per year as maintenance allowance in subsequent years and any other allowances as applicable.

Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply. (ii) He/She has completed 17 years at the time of admission or on or before 31st December of the year of his admission. Candidates born on or after 02-01-1989 are not Eligible. (iii) The candidate must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology at the qualifying examination.In respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes or Other Backward Classes the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in qualifying examination be 40% instead of 50% for General Candidates. Those who are taking plus two examination in 2005 can also appear for the entrance test provisionally subject to their fulfilling the conditions later. The Information Bulletin and Application Form costing Rs.300/- for General Category and Rs.150/- for SC/ST candidates inclusive of examination fee can be obtained against Cash Payment from any of the following branches of Canara Bank/ Head Post Office/Regional Offices of the CBSE between 15-10-2004 to 19-11-2004.
