Eligibility: Honours in Arts/Science/Commerce OR Graduation (without Honours) in Arts/Science/ Commerce with 45% marks in aggregate.
Candidates, who have appeared the qualifying examinations and the results there of are awaited, are also eligible to apply. However, they have to submit the Provisional Certificate and Mark sheet of the qualifying examination within ten days after publication of result of Sambalpur University, or on any date during the Entrance Test schedule i.e. Dt.12.7.07 whichever is later; otherwise their cases for selection shall not be considered.

Procedure For Obtaining The Application Form: Admission forms can be obtained from The Administrative Officer, P.G. Central Office, Sambalpur University, P.O. : Jyoti-Vihar, Burla, Dis. Sambalpur (Orissa) PIN - 768019 during office hours on working days in person on payment of Rs. 150/- in cash at the Cash counter or by post on payment of Rs.225/- by crossed Bank Draft drawn in favour of the Chairman, P.G. Council, Sambalpur University and payable at SBI, Jyoti-Vihar Branch (Code No. 6672) or U.Co Bank, Katapali Branch (Code No. 0710) along with an application on plain paper addressed to the Administrative Officer, P.G. Central Office, Sambalpur University. A self addressed envelope of size 13×8 is to be enclosed along with the application.
Indian Postal Order and Bank Draft Drawn On Any Other Bank Will Not Be Entertained.
Candidates can download the application form from the University website www.sambalpuruniversitypgc.in and while sending the application form a bank draft of Rs.375/- by crossed Bank Draft drawn in favour of Chairman, PG Council, Sambalpur University and payable at SBI, Jyoti-Vihar Branch (Code No. 6672) or UCO Bank, Katapali Branch (Code No. 0710)should be enclosed.

BEd Duration 2 years. Highlights::

Eligibility: BSc or equivalent with 50% in aggregate and should have studied at least two related subjects. i.e., Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology; English as a subject under language group at the Degree level.
Humanities Stream: English and Social Sciences:
Eligibility: BA or equivalent with 50% marks in aggregate and should have studied English and any of the following subjects: History, Geography, Economics, Sociology, Political Science at the Degree level.
MEd (Elementary Education). Duration 1 year. Highlights:
Two semester Post-Graduate Programme with specialization in Elementary Education.
Eligibility: BEd or equivalent degree with 50% marks in aggregate. Additional weightage shall be given to candidates with i) PG Degree and ii) Teaching Experience in DIET/Elementary School.
PGDGC (Programme of the NCERT). Duration 1 year. Highlights:
Two Semester Post Graduate Diploma Programme in Guidance and Counselling. The Diploma is awarded by the NCERT.
Eligibility: MA / MSc in any school subject having BEd OR PG with MEd (Secondary / Elementary) OR MCom with BEd OR MA /MSc in Psychology / Educational Psychology / Social work / Child Development / Human Development OR MA in any subject but Psychology as a paper in BA.
Admissions to these programmes are limited to candidates passing the qualifying examination from recognized institution situated in the Southern Region. Reservations as per rules apply for SC/ST and physically Handicapped candidates. A Relaxation of 50% marks in aggregate is provided for SC/ST candidates for admission to all the programmes. All the applications are subjected to screening and mere possessing of minimum eligibility qualifications does not entitle the applicants for admission. There will be an entrance test and/ or interview for selection of candidates for all the programmes.
Application forms and further details will be issued from 24th May 2006 against requests accompanied by a crossed demand draft payable at Mysore for Rs.100/- drawn in favour of The Principal, Regional Institute of Education, Mysore-570 006 and a self addressed 26 cm 12 cm size envelope bearing Rs.10/- postal stamp. Separate application is required for each programme / combination. The last date for receipt of the filled-in application form is 23rd June 2006.
Application format can also be downloaded from the NCERT website www.ncert.nic.in and each application should be accompanied with processing fee in the form of an account payee demand draft of Rs.100/- in favour of Principal, Regional Institute of Education, Mysore-6 payable at Mysore.
