University of Delhi Department of Genetics

The University Of Delhi Department Of Genetics offers a two-year Master’s programme leading to the M Sc (Genetics) degree. Starting this year, the course would be taught following a semester system (two semesters per year). The course is interdisciplinary in nature, where in some of the core papers are also offered by other Departments. Apart from core papers, papers in Biochemistry, Biostatistics and Computational Biology are also offered. The Department also offers a set of elective courses. The theory courses are supplemented by hands-on practical training with an emphasis on continuous assessment.

University of Delhi Department of English course will begin by providing a broad overview of the ways in which the human body has been theorised and represented in specific sites of performance in the twentieth century. It will then move on to a comparative study of discourses and practices of the body in selected historical contexts-specifically in relation to gender and sexuality, sites of reform in colonial societies, discourses of the nation, and the construction of identity politics in contemporary times. Theories and practices of representation of the body will be studied with close attention to the nuances of the medium of representation.

The University Of Delhi Delhi School Of Economics began in 1949 when a group of visionaries led by Professor V.K.R.V. Rao and supported by India’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, launched a project to create a centre for advanced studies in the social sciences. The School comprises the departments of economics, geography and sociology. The Department of Economics, recognized as a Centre for Advanced Study by the University Grants Commission, counts numerous outstanding individuals in its list of former faculty.
