For those following the American High school system, applications will be considered if Physics, Chemistry and Biology have been taken as AP (Advanced Placement) courses or have one year of science in college. The minimum requirment is an average of 60% marks or C grade in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB). Admissions are based on merit in the qualifying examination.

Eligibility Criteria
A candidate must be an Indian National.
A candidate who has passed final MBBS degree examination from a recognised medical college situated in Maharashtra, affiliated to Non-Agricultural Universities or to the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik and who has obtained full registration either from the Medical Council of India or from the Maharashtra Medical Council after completing one year internship training, will be eligible for PGM-CET 2006. The Inservice candidates working on the establishment of Directorate of Health Services, Directorate of ESIS and Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation will be eligible to apply as per the eligibility criteria prescribed by the concerned establishments.
A candidate who is undergoing one year internship training and is likely to complete the same by 31st March, 2006 also will be eligible for PGM-CET 2006.
A candidate who is domicile of Maharashtra and who got admission under 15% quota of All India Entrance Examination for MBBS and who has obtained the MBBS degree from the University situated outside the state of Maharashtra and has obtained full registration either from Medical Council of India, New Delhi or from the concerned State Medical Council will also be eligible for PGM-CET 2006.

Duration .. 3 years (exemption of one year is granted to those who have passed Diploma of 2 years duration in the same subject).

Group A: Selected candidates may be considered for Residency Scheme as applicable to the Central Government institutions.
Group B & C: Selected candidates may be considered for scholarship of Rs.2500/- per month in the first and second year, and Rs.2800/- per month in the third year.
Group D: Selected candidates may be considered for stipend of Rs.250/- per month.
Selection procedure for M.D. and D.P.M. course
The selection will depend upon marks obtained in the entrance examination. The entrance test will be of a MCQ type consisting of 100 questions to be answered in 60 minutes. There will be 0.25 negative marking for each wrong answer.
The test will have questions of MBBS standard in the following approximate distribution:
20% from Psychiatry and allied behavioural sciences
20% from Neurology
30% from General Medicine
30% from rest of medical subjects
For Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, M.Phil in Medical and Social Psychology and M.Phil in Psychiatric Social Work courses also the entrance test will be of MCQ type consisting of 100 questions to be answered in 60 minutes. The test will have questions of M.A. standard. There will be 0.25 negative marking for each wrong answer.
For Diploma in Psychiatric Nursing course there shall not be a written entrance
examination. However, there will be an interview for the same.
Note:
Candidates applying for both M.D. and D.P.M., and for both Ph.D. (Clinical Psychology) and M.Phil in Medical and Social Psychology courses starting from May 1, 2006 need to submit only one application each. They should clearly mention the names of the course applied for, in order of preference. For MD (Psychiatry) and Diploma in Psychological Medicine(DPM):- One year Rotating Internship to be completed by 15.2.06 For MD(Post DPM, 2 Years Course), Ph.D.(Clinical Psychology), M.Phil (M&SP), M.Phil (PSW) :- Certificate of passing DPM, M.Phil(M&SP/Clinical Psychology), M.A./M.Sc. in Psychology, Sociology & Social Work declared on or before 15.2.2006. For the D.P.N.:- 2 years working experience certificate as a staff nurse on or before 15.2.2006. The candidates who do not fulfill above criteria need not apply.
The number of seats in each discipline is subject to change without assigning any reason.
15% and 7 ½% seats are reserved for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates respectively, subject to availability of such candidates. There shall also be reservation of 3% seats for candidates with disabilities (physically handicapped) subject to availability of such candidates.
Attested/xeroxed copies of all certificates, mark sheets, testimonials, Caste Certificate/Disability certificate if applicable, etc. should be attached with the application.
Details of research experience, if any, in the form of research publications in peerreviewed journals or research papers presented in scientific conferences may be attached on separate sheet(s) of paper. Reprints of research papers may also be attached.

website: www.cipranchi.nic.in . and a hard copy of the same application form printed on A4 size bond paper complete in all respect alongwith a Demand Draft of Rs.400/- for General candidate and Rs.300/ for SC/ST candidates in favour of Director, CIP, Ranchi payable at Bank of Baroda, Kanke, Ranchi should reach the Director, Central Institute of Psychiatry, Kanke, Ranchi-834006 (Jharkhand) by December 06, 2005. The hard copy of the application form must be duly signed by the candidate and his/her photograph pasted in appropriate place. Incomplete applications or applications received after due date, i.e., December 06, 2005, shall not be considered. The admit cards and a covering letter having necessary instructions will be made available on the CIP website (www.cipranchi.nic.in).
The admit card and the covering letter are to be downloaded and printed by the candidates and the same to be brought with them to the examination centre.
From the pool of applicants suitable candidates would be asked to appear for a written examination and interview/counselling at this institute, which shall be between February 19 23, 2006. The last date for joining the courses is 31st March, 2006. The candidates are strongly advised to visit the C.I.P. website from time to time for relevant information and instructions.
The Institute maintains Mens and Womens hostels for a limited number of its postgraduate students.

Applications are invited in the prescribed form for All India Post Graduate Medical / Dental Entrance Examination (AIPGMEE-2006) to be conducted by All India Institute of Medical Sciences on Sunday, the 8th January, 2006 for admission under open merit seats quota in various Postgraduate (MD/MS/PG Diploma & MDS) courses in Medical and Dental Colleges in the country run by the Union of India, State Governments (except Government of Andhra Pradesh and J&K) and Municipal or other local authorities.

The request must reach the Assistant Controller of Examination, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Ansari Nagar, New Delhi -110 029 before 13.10.2005 request received thereafter will not be entertained. Money Order / Cheque / Postal Order / Cash or any other form of payment will NOT be accepted for postal sale. The words “REQUEST FOR APPLICATION FORM FOR AIPGMEE-2006″ should be written on the envelope containing request for application form, and also on top of the request letter. The address at which Application Form is required should be written clearly in CAPITAL LETTERS and with PIN code. AIIMS will not be responsible for delay in/non-receipt of Application form caused by illegible or incomplete address.
Important -
1) Candidates must obtain application forms ONLY from an authorized branch of S.B.I. or by post from Examination Section of AIIMS. Forms obtained from an unauthorized source will be rejected.
2) Candidates are advised to procure blank application forms as early as possible. If copies of application forms are sold out before the last date of sale and the same are not available, AIIMS / SBI or its specified branches will not be responsible for any consequences that may arise due to non-availability of forms. If a candidate does not get the form through Post Office in time, AIIMS will not be responsible for such lapses
