Admission Criteria

The selection of applicants into the MS (Finance) Program is made through MS (Finance) Entrance Test (MSET) and Interview.

The admissions committee also assigns due weight age to the applicants past academic achievements, previous relevant work experience (if any) as well as academic/professional reference.

MS (Finance) Entrance Test (MSET): All applicants (except exempted applicants) desirous of admission to the MS (Finance) Program are required to appear for the MS (Finance) Programs Entrance Test (MSET) 2007, which will be of 3 hours duration. MSET is based on GMAT® pattern with multiple choice questions and tests the applicants abilities in quantitative techniques, data adequacy, vocabulary, analytical reasoning and reading comprehension. Applicants are required to apply for MSET 2007 through an Application Form. MSET 2007 is scheduled on April 22, 2007 (Sunday) between 10.00 AM and 1.00 PM and will be conducted at 59 Test Centers all over India.

Exemption from MSET 2007: Those applicants who have a valid GMAT®/CAT 2006/XAT 2007 scores and those appeared for IBSAT 2006 and short listed for IBS interviews are exempted from MSET 2007. Applicants seeking exemption have to send their duly filled-in Application Forms to CPAD, Hyderabad before April 19, 2007. They will be called for interview directly.

Admission Process

The components of evaluating the students for admission into the MTP are:

Research Aptitude Test (RAPT)
Past academic record and work experience
Case analysis
Micro presentation
Preliminary interview
Final interview

Applicants whose performance in RAPT is satisfactory will be evaluated for the next phase.

Appropriate weight ages are assigned to each of the above components and the composite score is computed based on applicants performance. Final admission is made strictly based on merit.

The admission process consists of two phases:

PHASE I: This phase consists of applying for RAPT 2007 and writing the RAPT on specified dates, as mentioned (Admissions Calendar).

Exempted Category

Applicants who have a GMAT® score of 600 and above or those with 85th percentile and above score in CAT/XAT/GATE/ or IBSAT Rank holders, are exempted from RAPT 2007 and are eligible for participating in phase II.
