Eligibility: Graduation in any discipline.
Fee : Candidates, who have appeared the qualifying examinations and the results there of are awaited, are also eligible to apply. However, they have to submit the Provisional Certificate and Mark sheet of the qualifying examination within ten days after publication of result of Sambalpur University, or on any date during the Entrance Test schedule i.e. Dt.12.7.07 whichever is later; otherwise their cases for selection shall not be considered.

Sambalpur (Orissa) PIN - 768019 during office hours on working days in person on payment of Rs. 150/- in cash at the Cash counter or by post on payment of Rs.225/- by crossed Bank Draft drawn in favour of the Chairman, P.G. Council, Sambalpur University and payable at SBI, Jyoti-Vihar Branch (Code No. 6672) or U.Co Bank, Katapali Branch (Code No. 0710) along with an application on plain paper addressed to the Administrative Officer, P.G. Central Office, Sambalpur University. A self addressed envelope of size 13×8 is to be enclosed along with the application.
Indian Postal Order and Bank Draft Drawn On Any Other Bank Will Not Be Entertained.
Candidates can download the application form from the University website www.sambalpuruniversitypgc.in and while sending the application form a bank draft of Rs.375/- by crossed Bank Draft drawn in favour of Chairman, PG Council, Sambalpur University and payable at SBI, Jyoti-Vihar Branch (Code No. 6672) or UCO Bank, Katapali Branch (Code No. 0710)should be enclosed.

No. F. 5/1/2006-E1 (B): An examination for selection of candidates for appointment as Special Class Apprentices in Mechanical Department of Indian Railways will be held by the Union Public Service Commission on 22nd July, 2007 in accordance with the Rules published by the Ministry of Railways (Railways Board) in the Gazette of India dated the 17th February, 2007 at the following Centres:
1. The centres and the date of holding the examination as mentioned above are liable to be changed at the discretion of the Commission. While every effort will be made to allot the candidates to the centres of their choice for examination, the Commission may, at their discretion, allot a different centre to a candidate, when circumstances so warrant. Candidates admitted to the examination will be informed of the time table and place or places of examination.
Candidates should note that no request for change of centre will normally be granted. However, when a candidate desires a change in centre from the one he had indicated in his Application Form for the Examination, he must send a letter addressed to the Secretary, Union Public Service Commission, giving full justification as to why he desires a change in centre. Such requests will be considered on merits but requests received in the Commissions Office after 18th April, 2007 will not be entertained under any circumstances.
2. The approximate number of vacancies, to be filled on the results of the examination is 25.
The number of vacancies mentioned above is liable to alteration.
Reservation will be made for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes in respect of vacancies as may be fixed by the Government.

Civil Service Examination 2007
The Union Public Service Commission will hold the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination 2007 on 20th May 2007 for recruitment to the Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service, Indian Police Service and certain other Group A and Group B Central Service / Posts. The examination will be held at various centres across the country.
Salient features of the examination are published herein for general information of candidates. For details regarding Syllabus and Scheme of the examination, Centres of examination, Guidelines for filling up the application form etc. aspirants must consult the detailed Notice of the examination published in the Employment News / Rozer Samachar dated 16th December 2006.
Conditions of Eligibility
(a) Age limits:
Not less than 21 years and not more than 30 years on 1st August 2007.
Not upper age limit is relaxable for Scheduled Castes / Scheduled Tribes / Other Backward Classes and certain other categories of candidates to the extend specified in the Notice.
(b) Educational Qualification
Degree of a recognized University or an equivalent qualification.
(c) Physical Standards
Candidates must be physically fit according to the Regulations given in Appendix-III of Rules for the Civil Service Examination 2007 published in the Gazette of India Extraordinary dated 16th December 2006.

The Maximum number of attempts permissible to different categories of aspirants, who are otherwise eligible, will be as follows
(i) General Category - Four
(ii) Other Backward Classes - Seven

Union Public Service Commission - National Defence Academy and Naval academy Examination (I), 2007
The Union Public Service Commission will hold the National Defense Academy and Naval Academy Examination, (I), 2007 on 22nd April, 2007 for admission to Army, Navy and Air Force Wings of NDA for 119th Course and Naval Academy for 39th, 10+2 (Executive Branch) Course commencing from January, 2008.

2. Conditions of Eligibility
(a) Age Limits, Sex and Marital Status:
Only unmarried male candidates who must have attained the age of 16 ½ years and must not have attained the age of 19 years on the 1st January, 2008 i.e. he must have been born not earlier than 2nd January, 1989 and not later than 1st July, 1991.
(b) Educational Qualifications:
(i) For Army Wing of National Defense Academy: - 12th Class pass of 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or a University.
(ii) For Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defense Academy and for 10+2 (Executive Branch) Course of Naval Academy:- 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics, conducted by a State Education Board or a University.
Candidates who are appearing in 12th Class under 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination can also apply for this Examination.
c) Physical Standards:
Candidates must be physically fit according to the physical standards for admission to National Defense Academy and Naval Academy Examination (I), 2007 as given in Appendix-V of Commissions Notice for Examination published in Employment News / Rozgar Sam char dated 14th October, 2006.
3. Application Form:
The Candidates must apply in the Common Application Form devised by the Commission for its examinations which can be purchased from the designated Head Post Offices / Post Offices (specified in Appendix-III of the Notice) throughout the country against cash payment of Rs.20/- (Rupees twenty only), Each such Form can be used only once and only for one examination.

A Combined Limited Departmental Competitive Examination for additions in the Select Lists for the Section Officers Grade and Stenographers Grade-I / Grade B of the Services mentioned below will be held by the Union Public Service Commission commencing on the 26th December, 2006 at Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Nagpur:
Section Officers Grade of the Central Secretariat Service.
Section Officers Grade (Integrated Grade II & III) of the General Cadre of Indian Foreign Service, Branch B.
Section Officers Grade of the Railway Board Secretariat Service.
Grade A & B merged of the Central Secretariat Stenographers Service.
Grade I of the Stenographers Cadre of Indian Foreign Service, Branch B.
Grade A & B merged of Armed Forces Headquarters Stenographers Service.
Grade B of the Railway Board Secretariat Stenographers Service.
Section Officers Grade of the Intelligence Bureau.

Counter from 24th July, 2006. Payment by any other mode viz. Indian Postal Orders, cheque, currency notes, etc. is not acceptable in lieu of Money Order.
Last Date For Receipt Of Applications: 18th September 2006. In the case of applications received by post (by post) from the candidates residing in Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Jammu & Kashmir, Lahaul and Spiti District and Pangi Sub Division of Chamba District of Himachal Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands or Lakshadweep and for candidates residing abroad, the last date for receipt of applications is 25th September, 2006. The benefit of extended time will be available only in respect of applications received by Post /Speed Post and Diplomatic Bag (in respect of employees posted in Indian Missions abroad only) from the above mentioned areas/regions. Union Public Service Commission - Geologists Examination 2006
The Union Public Service Commission will hold the Geologists Examination, 2006 commencing from 2nd December 2006 for recruitment to the posts of Geologists (Junior), Group A in the Geological Survey of India and Jr. Hydro geologist (Scientist B) Group A and Assistant Hydrogeologist, Group B in the Central Ground Water Board. The examination will be held at various centers across the country.

Educational Qualification: A candidate must hold i) Masters degree in Geology or Applied Geology or Marine Geology; or ii) Masters degree in Mineral Exploration (for posts in Geological Survey of India only), or iii) Masters degree in Hydrogeology (for posts in Central Ground Water board only) from a recognized University; or iv) Diploma of Associateship in Applied Geology of the Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad.
Physical Standards: Candidates must be physically fit according to the regulations given in Appendix-II of the rules for the Geologists Examination, 2006 published in the gazette of India dated 17th June 2006
