1. Applications are invited for admission to BSMS/ BAMS / BHMS / BNYS / courses for 2006-2007 in Government and Self financing Colleges in Tamil Nadu from the candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Courses Examination. Candidates scoring less than 40% in TNPCEE may now apply.
These applications are for filling only unfilled seats that arise_after the 2nd counselling to be conducted on 27.10.2006 as per our notification published in leading dailies on 17.10.2006. Candidates who have not applied for admission to the above courses by 26.10.2006 and those who are not able or eligible to participate during walk-in counselling on 27.10.2006. as notified on 17.10.2006 may obtain application form at 1.Selection Committee Office, O/o The Commissioner of Indian Medicine and Homoepathy, Chennai 600 106, 2. Govt, Siddha Medical College Palayamkottai 3. Govt. Homoepathy Medical College, Thirumangalam, Madurai District or downloaded from our website at www.tnhealth.org until 12.00 noon on 30.10.2006. Candidates who downloaded the forms should submit their application along with the application fees prescribed.
2. Candidates should compulsorily have appeared for TNPCEE for this 3rd counseling and the 40% requirement shall apply only for candidates in the 2nd counseling on 27.10.2006. Selection for admission will be made based solely on MERIT by aggregating the marks obtained by the candidates in the Higher Secondary examination and in the entrance examination as detailed in the prospectus and by following the rule of reservation.
3. Application Form and Prospectus for BSMS / BAMS / BUMS / BNYS Courses will remain the same subject to the above relaxation and will be issued for this category from 26.10.2006 onwards including 28th and 29th October to facilitate outstation applicants. Such Applications for BSMS/BAMS/BUMS/BNYS/ Courses and prospectus will be issued against the deposit of a Demand Draft for Rs.500/- (Rupees Five Hundred only) drawn favour of Director Of Indian Medicine And Homeopathy, payable at Chennai, We do not recommend request by post as candidates are solely responsible for any delay in dispatch of applications or receipt of applications.
4. As before, SC/ST candidates are exempted from paying the cost of application fee of Rs.500/-
SC/ST candidates have to produce a Xerox Copy of the Community Certificate along with a requisition containing the following particular for getting the application form. 1.Name, 2. Address 3. High Secondary courses Examination mark statement (attested Xerox copy) 4. Whether the candidate belongs to SC/ST and 5.Signature of the applicant.
Note:
i) One application is enough for all courses viz.. BSMS / BAMS / BUMS / BNYS subject to eligibility of seats under General Category and for Special Category they should fill up the Common Application form prescribed for General category and also they should apply in the application form prescribed for Special Categories which could be obtained on payment of Rs.100/- in the form of Demand Draft drawn in favour of The Director of Indian Medicine & Homoepathy, Chennai 106 payable at Chennai for each Special Category subject to the maximum of three Special Categories.
ii) The application for issued to SC/ST candidates cannot be used by others.
5. Eligibility: Minimum Qualification for BSMS/BAMS/BNYS/BHMS courses.
Candidates should have passed in all subject of the qualifying examination of the Higher Secondary Examination (Academic) conducted by the Tamil Nadu State Board in one and the same attempt in the following group of subjects with the minimum eligible marks.
(a) Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology. OR
(b) Physics, Chemistry, Biology with any other subject. OR
(c) For BAMS COURSE: In addition to the minimum eligibility marks mentioned in para 5, candidate should have also studied in Tamil medium upto X standard or Higher Secondary course Should have passed Tamil as a subject in X std or in Higher secondary course.
(d) For BUMS COURSE: In addition to the minimum eligibility marks mentioned in para 5. Candidates should have studied in URDU Medium upto X std. OR
Should have passed Urdu / Arabic / Persian as an subject either in X std or in Higher Secondary Course.
OR
Should have passed the Addeep-e-Fazil Examination or Entrance Examination of Affzal-Ul-Ulama Examination or the University of Madras to be eligible to apply for the BUMS course. Candidates who have studied who have studied HSC Course with Vocational stream and Pre-University Course are not eligible to apply for this course.
Note: Candidates who have passed any other equivalent examinations with same group of subjects mentioned above should produce the eligibility certificate from The Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR medical University before admission to the course.
6. Minimum Eligible Marks: (For BSMS/BAMS/BYNS/BUMS/BHMS)
Candidates who have passed higher Secondary Course (Academic) or equivalent examination should have obtained the following marks in their qualifying examinations
I.For Open Competition
a) A minimum of 50% marks in Biology or Botany and Zoology (taken together)
b) Minimum of 50% marks in each of the subjects of Physics and Chemistry and
c) Aggregate of the percentage of marks in (a) and the percentage of marks in (b) should not be less than 120 out 200 marks.
II) For Backward Competition
a) A minimum of 50% marks in Biology or Botany and Zoology. (taken together)
b) Minimum of 50% marks in each of the subjects or Physics and Chemistry and
c) Aggregate of percentage of marks in (a) and the percentage of marks in (b) should not less than 110 out of 200 marks.
III) For Most Backward Classes / Denotified Communities.
a) A minimum of 45% marks in Biology or Botany and Zoology (taken together)
b) Minimum of 45% marks in each of the subjects of Physics and chemistry and
c) Aggregate of the percentage of marks in (a) and the percentage of marks in (b) should not be less than 100 out of 200 marks.
IV. For Scheduled Caste And Scheduled Tribes.
a) A minimum of 40% marks in Biology or Botany and Zoology (taken together)
b) Minimum of 40% marks in each of the subjects of Physics and chemistry and
c) Aggregate of the percentage of marks in (a) and the percentage of marks in (b) should not be less than 80 out of 200 marks
Note: In the case of candidates, who have furnished the marks sheets of the qualifying examination, only in GRADES the minimum marks of the grades alone will be taken into consideration while determining the marks in the Science Subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Botany and Zoology.
7. Age: Candidates should have completed the age of 17 years on or before 31.12.2006. No request for age relaxation will be entertained.

Applicants are hereby informed that those who obtain applications at Govt. Siddha Medical College, Palayamkottai and Govt. Homoepathy Medical College, Thirumangalam, Madurai District must make their own arrangements for submitting filled-in application after the date and time mentioned above will not be entertained for any reason and no correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
Counselling
Separate cell letter will NOT be sent for the candidates. All the eligible candidates should attend the counselling on 31.10.2006 at 10.00 A.M.
For Previously Rejected Applications:
Applicants who were not eligible for the previous regular counseling but have now become eligible by virtue of this special relaxation may now attend counseling on 31.10.2006 without waiting for a call letter. They may, however, phone this office to clarify their status in phone No. 044-26190246.
Counselling for the above courses will be conducted on 31.10.2006 at the Office of the Commissionerate of Indian Medicine and Homoepathy, Arignar Anna Government Hospital of Indian Medicine, Arumbakkam, Chennai 600 106. Admitted candidates will be required to pay admission fees by two Demand Drafts of Rs.5000/- and Rs.500/- during counselling
