JNTU Changes Be Syllabus Exams in India

The syllabi of all the 21 B Tech courses being offered by the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) and its affiliated colleges have been revised, making them more industry oriented. The university has also revised the syllabi of MTech, MBA and MCA. The revised syllabus will come into effect from the current academic year for the first year students, followed by the second year students in 2006-2007 academic year and third and fourth year students in the subsequent two academic years. The revised syllabus of all courses has been hosted on the university web site www.jntu.ac.in . Students can download it from October 1, 2005 onwards. Major changes in BTech courses include introduction of workshop, introduction of English communication skills, preparation of industry oriented mini project, students presentation on a project at a seminar and internal examination including both objective type and subjective type of question papers.

    1. Atomic Structure
    2. Block elements: d, f block elements, introduction, physical and chemical properties.
    3. Nuclear Chemistry: Introduction, nuclear reactions, fission, fusion, carbon dating, industrial application.
    4. Co-ordination compounds: Introduction, nomenclature, Crystal fied theory, Werners theory.

    PHYSICAL CHEMISTRY:

    1. Solutions: Introduction, types of solutions, colligative properties – lowering of vapour pressure, osmatic pressure, elevation of boiling point, depression of freezing point, van’t hoff factor.
    2. Adsorption: Introduction, types of adsorption, properties, and influencing factors.
    3. Colloids: Introduction, types of colloids, preparation, properties, application of colloids. Emulsions and Gels.
    4. Thermodynamics: Introduction, Laws of thermodynamics.
    5. Electro chemistry: Introduction, ohms law, conductivity, Transport numbers, theories of indicators, Buffer solutions, standard electrodes.
    6. Chemical kinetics: Introduction, rate of reaction, order of reaction(zero, first, second), molecularity, pseudo reactions.

    ORGANIC CHEMISTRY:

    1. Structure and reactivity of organic compounds: Introduction, hybridization, types of fissions, types of reagents, polarization effects, types of reactions.
    2. Classification and nomenclature of organic compounds.
    3. Preparation and chemical properties of cyclo alkanes and hetero cyclic compounds.
    4. Preparation and chemical properties of active methylene group compounds.
    5. Preparation and chemical properties of various functional groups containing organic compounds.
    6. Carbohydrates, amino acid and proteins, alkaloids, terpens.

    I am looking for B-Tech in Electronics and Communication, and I have completed my Diploma in Electronics and communication with 72% from Technical Board of Karnataka and the Collage is Govt. Polytechnic, Gulbarga. Please help me on the same immediately.
