National Institute of Kathak Dance Admission 2006
(Constituent unit of the Sangeet Natak Akademi)
Applications on prescribed from are invited for admission to the following courses offered by the Kathak Kendra.
Kathak Dance
A. Elementary courses (for residents of Delhi only)
Foundation (for beginners): 3 years: 9-14 years
Diploma (pass): 2 years: 12-17 years
B. Advance Courses
Diploma (hons): 3 years: 14-19 years
Post diploma: 2 years: 17-22 years
Note: Age of the candidates should not be more than 22 years.
Special course (Tabla/Pakhawaj Playing)
Diploma: 3 years: 9-27 years

Sale of prospectus: 20 June, 2006 onwards
Last date for receiving applications by hand: 5 July 2006
Last date for receiving applications by post: 10 July 2006
Pre-admission Tests: 15-20 July 2006
Result: 25 July 2006
Last date for taking admission: 31 July 2006
Applications forms with prospectus are available from 10 am to 5 pm on all working days at the Kathak Kendra, Bahawalpur House, Bhagwandas Road, New Delhi 110001 either on payment of Rs.50/- by cash or post against a DD/IPO of Rs.100/- drawn in favour of the Director, kathak Kendra payable at New Delhi.
The hostel (for girls) however, is under renovation at present and therefore students who would be considered for allotment of hostel may have to make their own arrangements for three months or so till such time the hostel is renovated.
