The National Law School of India University (NLSU) is the premier residential Law University in the country.
Applications are invited for admission to Under - graduate and Post graduate programmes for 2007 08.
Under Graduate Programme: B.A., L.L.B. (Hons.)
The University offers a five year Integrated B.A., L.L.B. (Hons.) Degree Programme preparing students for the bar and other careers in Law.
a) Eligibility: 10 + 2 Examination or equivalent with not less than 50% marks (students taking qualifying examination in March/ April 2007 are also eligible to apply).
(b) Age Limit: Below 20 years as on 1st July 2007 (22 years in case of SC/ ST candidates).
(c) Intake and Reservation: The intake is 80 with reservation of 15% for SC and 7.5% for ST candidates and 5 seats for foreign nationals.
(d) Financial assistance / Fee waiver / Scholarship is available for deserving candidates.
Copies of the last 19 years Test Papers in a volume are available. The same can be obtained by sending a Demand Draft for Rs. 760/- inclusive of postage in favour of Registrar, National Law School of India University, payable at Bangalore. However, the format and the structure of the Admission Test may vary from previous years.
Post Graduate Programme: L.L.M.
L.L.M is a two years Post Graduate Degree Programme (4 semesters). Specialisation in the area of Business Law and Human Rights Law are offered at present
(a) Eligibility: 50% aggregate in B.L./ L.L.B./ B.A., L.L.B. (Hons.) Examination (Candidates appearing for the examination this year, are also eligible to apply). (b) Intake and Reservation: The intake is 40 these two branches with reservations of 15% for SC & 7.5% for ST candidates (c) A few merit cum means Scholarship are available for deserving candidates.
Copies of the last 8 years Test Papers are available. The same can be obtained by sending a Demand Draft for Rs. 480/- inclusive of postage.
Admissions for the above TWO programmes are based purely on merit, assessed at the All India Admissions Test to be held on Sunday, the 6th May, 2007 at Allahabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Guwahati, Gandhinagar, Hyderabad, Jodhpur, Kochi, Kolkata and Mumbai. All admissions will be completed on or before 30th June 2007. Regular classes begin on 1st July 2007.
For Applications and Prospectus, write to the Registrar, NLSU, giving full address with Pincode and the course for which the application is required with a Bank Draft for Rs. 1000/- drawn in favour of Registrar, NLSU at Bangalore. The envelope must be superscribed in BOLD LETTERS, indicating the appropriate course for which the application is required. Applications will be issued from 10th January, 2007 Last date for the issue and receipt of completed applications will be 31st March, 2007. In an ostensible effort to groom civil servants, the government is planning to set up a National Centre of Governance that will train bureaucrats in public administration, management, public relations and customer relations. An inter-state ministerial council, chaired by the prime minister, has appointed Hyderabad-based Centre for Good Governance to prepare a draft report on this project. "We have already submitted our preliminary report to the council. The new centre will require Rs 500-crore investment," said a senior official of the Centre for Good Governance.
