Admission to Ph. D Programme 2007 08
The national University of Educational Planning and Administration (NUEPA), established and fully maintained by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, is a premier organization of its own kind in South Asia. It deals with research and training in educational planning and administration encompassing all stages of education.
NUEPA offers both full time and part time Ph. D. programmes in educational policy, planning, finance and administration from a broader inter disciplinary social science perspective. Besides, the focused areas of research will cover school education, higher education, inclusive education, constitutional rights & law, management information system, etc. from both national & international development perspectives.
Eligibility and Application Process
A candidate seeking admission to the Ph.D. programme shall have a Minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC / ST Candidates) or its equivalent grade in Masters Degree in Education, Social Sciences, and Sciences, Commerce, Management, Law and allied disciplines from a recognized university.
Candidates who are yet to clear their final examination at the Masters level are also eligible to apply provided they pass the examinations as per eligibility conditions already laid down.
NET qualified candidates, who have been awarded Fellowships by the UGC CSIR, with the above mentioned educational qualifications, can also apply.
In addition, the part time candidates should have at least two years of teaching / research experience in educational planning and / or administration.
Government officials working in the field of educational planning & administration, with a minimum of 2 years of experience are also eligible for admission to the part time programme.
How to Apply
Candidates may apply in the prescribed form along with three copies of the brief write up on the proposed research topic (in about 2500 words) to the Registrar, NUEPA, 17 B Sri Aurobindo Marg, New Delhi 110016. The Application Form along with Prospectus can be either downloaded from our website: www.nuepa.org of obtained through a request along with a self addressed stamped envelope of Rs. 20.00, addressed to the Registrar.
Mode of Selection
Short listed candidates will be called for test / interview / seminar presentation at NUEPA, New Delhi.
Fellowships
NUEPA offers fellowships (upto 10 in a year) for full time Ph.D. programme only @Rs. 8,000/- p.m. for the first two years with a contingency grant of Rs.10,000/- per annum, and thereafter, @Rs. 9,000/- p.m. and a contingency grant of Rs.20,000/- per annum for a maximum of three years.
