In a bid to revamp security, Northern Railways has sought help from IIT-Delhi to carry out an extensive survey of its railway stations. Project in-charge Professor DT Sahni today led a team to see how security can be strengthened at the Old Delhi Railway Station. Against the backdrop of the Samjhauta Express blasts, the Northern Railway and IIT-Delhi have joined hands to revamp security at important railway stations to prevent any future terror attacks. There is an urgent need to look up at all these stations especially after the Samjhauta blasts since many of these are too old and do not have the complete security arrangements as they were not built in accordance with that, CPRO Rajeev Saxena said.
