Announcement of date of JEE-2007 for admission to 1st year of 3-Year BSc in Hospitality & Hotel Administration for 2006-07

National Council for Hotel Management shall hold all India Joint Entrance Examination on 15th April, 2007 (Sunday) 10.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. for admission to 1st Year of 3-Year B.Sc. in Hospitality & Hotel Administration at affiliated Institute of Hotel Management all over the country for the 2007-08 academic sessions.

Eligibility:

Candidates should have passed +2 stage of 10+2 system or equivalent examination in any stream with English as one of the subjects. Candidates appearing in +2 or equivalent examination in 2006 can also apply.

Upper Age Limit: 22 years as on 1st July 2006 in case of General and PH. Categories 25 years as on 1st July 2006 for SC and ST Categories.

In compliance of the directive of the Govt. of India, Deptt. of Secondary and Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development, the CBSE will conducting the Sixth All India Engineering/Architecture Entrance Examination (AIEEE) for admission to degree level courses in Engineering and Architecture in National Institutes of Technology, Indian Institutes of Information Technology, Deemed Universities and Institutions in the Centre/ States/ UTs other than those covered by Joint Entrance Examination/State Level Entrance Examination for paid or unpaid seats based on the score. Tentative list of participating institutions will be contained in the Information Bulletin for AIEEE 2007.

AIEEE 2007 Examination Pattern: Entrance examination would consist of two papers i.e. 1st paper consisting of three parts of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics of equal weightage with objective type questions for BE/B.Tech courses and 2nd paper consisting of Mathematics and Aptitude Test for B. Architecture and B. Planning. The Aptitude Test is designed to evaluate candidates perception, imagination, observation, creativity and architectural awareness.

Scoring and Negative Marking of AIEEE 2007: There will be objective type questions with four options having single correct answer. For each incorrect response one third of the total marks allotted to the question would be deducted. No deduction from the total score will, however, be made if no response is indicated for an item in the answer sheet. The candidates are advised not to attempt such item in the answer sheet if they are not sure of the correct response. More than one answer indicated against a question will be deemed as incorrect response and will be negatively marked. All objective type questions are required to be answered on specially designed machine gradable answer sheets. Answers are to be marked using ball point pen (black/blue) only.

A computer based online test
for admission to Integrated first degree programmes; I Semester 2007-08

 The Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS)
Pilani is a University established under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956
vide notification No. F.12-23/63. U-2 dated 18th June, 1964 of the Govt.
of India. It is an all-India Institute for higher education for men and
women, fully residential, and awards its own degrees. Admissions to all
the Integrated First Degree programmes of BITS, Pilani, at Pilani campus
and Goa Campus, for the academic year 2007-08 will be made on the basis
of a Computer based Online
Test conducted by BITS, Pilani.

 Details of BITSAT-2007:
It will be a 3 hour duration test, offered to candidates on computers
at dedicated computer centers at different cities in India.
The test will have objective type (multiple choices) questions only. The
test will be conducted during 7th May -10th June 2007.

brochure which will be available along with the application form for the

Eligibility:

For admission to any of the
above Integrated first degree programmes, the candidate should have passed
the 12th examination of 10+2 system from a recognized Central/State board
or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Since the
medium of instruction at BITS is English, candidates should have adequate
proficiency in English. Further, the candidate should have obtained a
minimum of aggregate 80% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects
in 12th examination, with at least 60% marks in each of the Physics, Chemistry,
and Mathematics subjects.

 Students who
are appearing for 12th examination in 2007 are eligible to appear in the
BITSAT-2007 test.

 Students who have passed the 12th examination in 2006
may also apply for BITSAT-2007, provided they explain the reasons for
the gap. The admission committee will examine all such cases before taking
a final decision on their eligibility. Students who have passed 12th examination,
in 2005 or earlier are NOT eligible to appear in BITSAT-2007. Students
who are presently studying in BITS at any of its campuses are not eligible
to appear in BITSAT test. Admissions will be made purely on merit. The
merit position of the candidate for admission will be based on the score
obtained by the candidate in the BITSAT-2007.

 However, their eligibility for admission is subject
to fulfilling the requirement of minimum marks in 12th examination, as
mentioned above.

 In the past, admission process of the Institute always
ensured guaranteed admission to all the students who obtained first ranks
in their respective board examinations. This has given a very vital input
of highly meritorious students from all over India.
The Institute wants to maintain this practice and hence, first rank students
of all the central and state boards in India
for the year 2007 will be given direct admission to the program of their
choice, irrespective of their BITSAT-2007 score.

 In addition to applying for and appearing in BITSAT-2007,
candidates have to also apply for admission to BITS giving details of
their 12th marks and preferences to different degree programmes offered.
The prescribed application form for admission, the detailed application
procedure and the final list of degree programmes offered will be available
at the BITS website, by 20th May
2007.

Interested candidates should
register their names for BITSAT-2007 by applying in the prescribed application
form in one of the following modes:

application form along with the prescribed fees of Rs. 800/- (Rs. 400/-
for female candidates) should be sent to Admissions Officer, BITS, Pilani

applying online.

 (ii)               
Obtain the application form by post from the under mentioned by sending
a request on plain paper giving the candidate’s name, and gender with
complete postal address, accompanied by a crossed demand draft for Rs.
900/- (Rs. 500/- for Female candidates). This amount includes the prescribed
fees and Rs. 100/- towards postal and handling charges. The form will
be s’ent by Speed Post/ Registered Post. Requests by post will be accepted
only till 20th January 2007.

COMBINED ENTRANCE EXAMINATION (CEE-2007) for admission to B.E. Courses in DCE & NSIT

It is notified for all concerned that the Combined Entrance Examination (CEE-2007) for admission to first year of Bachelor of Engineering Courses in Delhi College of Engineering and Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology for the session 2007-2008 for Delhi Region only (85% Seats) will be held on Sunday, the 27th May, 2007. The admission to 15% seats reserved for Outside Delhi Region Candidates (Outside National Capital Territory of Delhi) shall be made on the basis of All India Merit Rank in AIEEE-2007 to be conducted by C.B.S.E. All the candidates belonging to Outside Delhi Region (Outside National Capital Territory of Delhi) are advised to appear in AIEEE-2007 as per their schedule. The criterion for deciding the eligibility of an applicant to a seat reserved for any Region is the location of the School/ College/ Institution from which the candidate has passed the qualifying examination on the basis of which he/she is seeking admission.

How To Apply:

The detailed notification for issue of Bulletin of Information etc for CEE-2007 (for Delhi Region 85% seats) will be issued in leading newspapers sometime in the 3rd week of February, 2007. No further correspondence for sale of Bulletin of Information etc. will be entertained till the notification for the same is issued by the University of Delhi.

State of Eligibility and Domicile

State Code of Eligibility / State of Domicile of the candidate:

(i) State Code of eligibility means the Code of the State from where a candidate has passed +2 examination by virtue of which he/she becomes eligible to appear in the AIEEE for admission to B.E/B.Tech and B.Arch/B. Planning Courses of the institutions/ Colleges of the States/UT.

Due to creation of new States of Chattisgarh, Jharkhand and Uttaranchal, certain places/institutions of Madhya Pradesh, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh from where the candidates have passed their +2 examination have now come within the jurisdiction of the newly created states. The candidates are, therefore, requested to fill in the State Code of eligibility as per the present jurisdiction of the respective States.

(ii) Indian nationals passing the equivalent qualifying examination from any institution abroad, the State of Eligibility will be determined on the basis of permanent address given in the Passport of the candidate.
