Scheme Of The Examination of Divisional Accountants /Auditors / U.D.C. Exam


Scheme of the Examination

The subjects of the examination, the time allowed and the maximum marks for each subject will be as follows:

Note :-

Both the question paper will contain “Objective Multiple Choice” items, each containing four alternative responses. All parts except Comprehension and Writing Ability of English will be printed in both Hindi and English.

Eligibility for Combined Matric Preliminary Exam


a. Age

Candidate must have attained the age of 18 years and must not have attained the age of 27 years as on the first day of August of the year of examination.

b. Educational Qualifications

Must have passed Matriculation or equivalent or higher examination as on first day of August of the year of examination.

Scheme Of The Examination for Combined Matric Preliminary Exam


The Combined Matric Prelim. Exam. is to test for selection of candidates for the Main Examination for the different categories of posts mentioned in first paragraph. The written exam. will comprise one paper with two parts.

Part I General Intelligence 100 2 Hrs
Part II General Awareness 100 2 Hrs

Note :-

The questions in all the tests will be “Objective Multiple-Choice-Type”. Candidates will be required to qualify in each of the two tests separately. The questions will be set in English and Hindi.

Main Examinations

The Main Examinations will be of descriptive-type.

Typewriting Test/Shorthand Test

The candidates who qualify the Main Exam(s) will have to undergo a Typewriting Test/Stenography Test as the case may be of Main Examination(s).

Syllabus of Combined Matric Preliminary Exam


General intelligence

The syllabus for General Intelligence would include questions of both verbal and non-verbal types. The test may include questions on analogies, similarities, differences, space visualization, problem solving analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning, verbal and figure classification, arithmetical number series, etc.

The test will also include questions designed to test the candidate’s abilities to deal with abstract ideas and symbols and their relationships, arithmetical computations and other analytical functions.

General Awareness

Questions will be designed to test the ability of the candidates general awareness of the environment around him and its application to the society. questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observation and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of an educated person.

The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighboring countries especially pertaining to History, Culture. Geography, Economic scene, Central Policy and Scientific Research.

Introduction to Combined Graduate Prelim Exam


Introduction

The Combined Graduate Prelim Examination is conducted by the Staff Selection Commission for selecting the candidates for the main examinations for the following recruitments:

a. Assistants Grade [Group `B’ Non-Gazetted) for the groups of services/offices like AFHQ CSS, Railway Board, IFS (B) and Posts in offices like Research Designs & Standards Organization, Central Vigilance Commission, etc.

b. Inspectors of Central Excise, Income Tax, Preventive Officer in Custom Houses, Assistant Enforcement Officers, etc.

c. Sub-Inspectors in CBI.

d. Sub-Inspectors of Police in Central Police Organizations, [BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP),

e. Divisional Accountants/Auditors/Junior Accountants/ UDCs, in various Central Government Departments.

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts the Combined Graduate Prelim Examination once a year generally in the month of July for selection of candidates for the main Examination. The Main Examinations for the above mentioned posts are held in the months of Oct. to Dec. Blank application forms and other particulars are published in the Employment News, usually in the first week of April. The last date for submission of applications is usually the last week of April.

Eligibility for Combined Graduate Prelim Exam


Eligibility

a. Age

Candidate’s age must lie between [a] 20 to 27 years for Assistant Grade & SIs in CBI [b] 18 to 27 years for inspectors of CE/IT & Div. Acctts/Auditors/UDCs, etc., (c) 20 to 25 years for SIs in CPOs on the first day of the August of the year of Examination.

The upper age limit may be relaxed in respect of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes and such other categories of person as may, from time to time, notified in the behalf by the Government of India to the extent and subject to the conditions notified in respect of each categories.

b. Educational Qualifications

Degree of a recognized University or equivalent.

The Combined Preliminary Examination will be of a Test for selection of candidates for the Main Examination for the different categories of posts, mentioned in the first paragraphs, and would comprise the following subjects:
