The Civil Services Examination consists of two successive stages: (i) Civil Services Preliminary Examination (Objective type) for the selection of candidates for the Main Examination; and (ii) Civil Services Main Exam. (Written & Interview) for selection of candidates for the various services and posts noted below. The Combined Matric Prelim. Exam. is to test for selection of candidates for the Main Examination for the different categories of posts mentioned in first paragraph. The written exam. will comprise one paper with two parts.   Test Marks Time allowed Part I General Intelligence 100 2 Hrs Part II General Awareness 100 2 Hrs Note :- The questions in all the tests will be "Objective Multiple-Choice-Type". (a) A candidate who is appointed to the Indian Administrative Service or the Indian Foreign Service on the results of an earlier examination and continues to be a member of that Service will not be eligible to compete at this examination.
