a. Written Examination
b. Viva-Voca test of such candidates as may be called by the commission carrying a maximum of 250 marks.

The Civil Services Examination consists of two successive stages: (i) Civil Services Preliminary Examination (Objective type) for the selection of candidates for the Main Examination; and (ii) Civil Services Main Exam. Dates for talent Exam Announced
New Delhi: The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) announced dates for its National Talent Search Examination for 2007. It offers 1,000 scholarships for students of Class VIII and X.
According to an official release issued by the NCERT, as per the new scheme from this year, students will be offered scholarship from Class VIII and Class X. Seats are also reserved for students belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. All states and union territories will make selections for Stage-I exams and the qualifying students will be eligible for the Stage-II examination,
