M.A. (History) second class (with minimum 50% marks in aggregate) preferably with one optional paper in Modern Indian History (Post 1750 A.D.) from recognized university. Sponsored candidates should atleast be a Graduate. Foreign candidates should be graduate from a recognized university and their admission will be subject to approval by the Selection Committee.
Age: Below 30 years for private candidates and below 50 years for sponsored candidates.
Selection: Total seats are 20. 10 Seats are for Private Candidates and 10 seats for Sponsored Candidates. Since the seats are limited, admissions are made on merit basis through written aptitude test followed by an interview for Private Candidates only.
No Test is conducted for Sponsored Candidates.
Seats are reserved for SC/ST and OBC Private Candidates are per Government norms.
Scholarship: Ten scholarships of the value of Rs. 1500/- p.m. are awarded purely on the basis of merit. Six stipends of Rs. 1000/- p.m. are awarded to sponsored candidates on merit basis.
