Part II
Three dimensional perception. Understanding and appreciation of scale and proportion of objects, building forms and elements, colour texture, harmony and contrast.
Design and drawing of geometrical or abstract shapes and patterns in pencil. Transformation of forms both 2D and 3D - union, substraction, rotation, development of surfaces and volumes; Generation of plan, elevations and 3D views of objects. Creating two dimensional and three dimensional compositions using given shapes and forms.
Sketching of scenes and activities from memory of urban-scape (public space, market, festivals, street scenes, monuments, recreational spaces etc.), landscape (river fronts, jungles, gardens, trees, plants etc.) and rural life.
Note:
Candidates are advised to bring pencils, own geometry box set, erasers and colour pencils and crayons for the Aptitude Test.

The ongoing tussle between the State government and the Council of Architecture (CoA), regarding the compulsory introduction of the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA), was further intensified by a letter from the Ministry of Human Resource and Development (MHRD) on July 9. The letter reassures the State government that theres no provision in the Architects Act, 1972 whereby CoA can make the aptitude test compulsory.

National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA):
National Institute of Advance Studies in Architecture (NIASA), Academic Unit of council of Architecture, will conduct the National Aptitude Test in Architecture. This test is mandatory for admission to first year of B.Arch course offered by all Unaided Institutes and participating Aided Institutes, imparting architectural education in India. The test will be offered in Colleges of Architecture on all working days starting 1st May, 2006.
