By sending a Demand Draft for Rs.850/- drawn in favour of Vellore Institute of Technology, payable at Vellore, to the Admissions Officer with a request letter containing full address of the applicant.

Course: Film Appreciation Course

Description: A four week full-time course in FILM APPRECIATION will be held at Pune from 15th May to 10th June, 2006 under the joint auspices of National Film Archive of India and Film & Television Institute of India. The course is primarily designed to meet the needs of teachers interested in introducing film study activities in educational institutions but would also be useful for film society organisers, film critics, journalists, film researchers, Govt. officials handling films and others interested in film studies. The curriculum includes theoretical and practical study of the art and history of film and the development of cinema as a medium of art and communication. M.A. (History) second class (with minimum 50% marks in aggregate) preferably with one optional paper in Modern Indian History (Post 1750 A.D.) from recognized university. Sponsored candidates should atleast be a Graduate. Foreign candidates should be graduate from a recognized university and their admission will be subject to approval by the Selection Committee.

Age: Below 30 years for private candidates and below 50 years for sponsored candidates.

Selection: Total seats are 20. 10 Seats are for Private Candidates and 10 seats for Sponsored Candidates. Since the seats are limited, admissions are made on merit basis through written aptitude test followed by an interview for Private Candidates only.
