Eligibility: The candidate must be a teacher with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and must be in Government/ Government aided/ Government recognised school with three years of teaching experience in a High School (8th to 10th). He/ She must be below 45 years of age as on 1st June, 2006. He/ She should not have any previous knowledge in the language applied for. Other things being equal preference will be given to teachers who teach languages. Restriction on teaching experience is relaxable at the discretion of the Director, Central Institute of Indian Languages, Mysore.

How To Apply: Prescribed application forms and prospectus for admission can be had from the Director, Central Institute of Indian Languages, Manasagangotri, Mysore-6 or from the Principal of Regional Language Centres (both address mentioned above) free of cost by sending self-addressed stamped envelope for the value of Rs.15/- and the size 12 cms x 30 cms. For details visit website www.ciil.org under training admission. The applications should be routed through proper channels i.e. Director of Education of the State concerned. Candidates should enclose two copies of recent passport size photographs and documents mentioned in the application form. No advance copy of the application will be considered. Candidates should carefully read the Deputation Rules in the Prospectus and satisfy themselves about their physical fitness to undergo training in the centre concerned.

Candidates should submit their applications through proper channel to the Director, Central Institute of Indian Languages, Manasagangotri, Mysore by 31st March 2006. (a) The selected teachers from Government/ Full Government aided schools will be paid their salaries based on the Last Pay Certificate sent by their respective Drawing and Disbursing Officers duly countersigned by the Inspector of Schools/ DEO to the concerned Principals of the Regional Language Centres. (b) The selected Teachers other than the Govt. and Full Government aided schools will be paid only a consolidated salary of Rs.5, 000/- (Rupees Five Thousand only) per month. All selected teachers will be paid a stipend of Rs.800/- {Rupees Eight Hundred only) per month during the training period as per deputation rules. The selected teachers will be paid TA/DA for their onward and return journey and during LET as per deputation rules. After the successful completion of the course, the trained teachers would be considered for payment of cash allowance of Rs. 70 (Rupees Seventy only) per month for the period they teach the language to a minimum of three periods in a week in their respective institutions at least for one academic year.

How To Apply: The selection of the students shall be done on the basis of any one or combination of the following tests. The Admission Test conducted by the University, OMAT. The Admission Test conducted by All India Management Association (MAT).The Admission Test, CAT. The Admission Test, XAT. The Admission Test, ATMA. Merit listed candidates shall be called for personal interview and group discussion. While the score in Personal Interview and Group discussion shall be used as go-no-go test for admission, the score in the Admission Test (OMAT, MAT etc.) shall be used to rank the candidates for selection. The University shall form a committee to recommend a test structure including the percentage of candidates to be taken from the University Level Test/All India Tests. On approval of the University, an Admission Committee shall conduct OMAT test and rank the qualified candidates.
