Exam Details:
National Defence Academy (NDA) and Naval Academy (NA) Examination (II) 2007

An Examination will be conducted by the Union Public Service Commission on 19th August 2007, for admission to the Army, Navy and Air Force wings of the NDA for the 120th Course and Naval Academy for the 40th 10+2 (Executive Branch) course commencing from July, 2008. The approximate number of vacancies to be filled on the results of this examination will be 335 (195 for the Army, 39 for Navy, 66 for the Air Force and 35 for the Executive Branch of Naval Academy).

(i) A candidate is required to specify clearly in col. 17(I) of the Application Form the Services for which he wishes to be considered in the order of his preference. He is also advised to indicate as many preferences as he wishes to opt so that having regard to his rank in the order of merit due consideration can be given to his preferences when making appointments.

(ii) Candidates should note that they will be considered for appointment to those services only for which they express their preferences and for no other service(s). No request for addition/alteration in the preferences already indicated by a candidate in his application will be entertained by the Commission.

(iii) Before indicating their preferences for different courses, the candidates should first decide their preference for the two Academies viz. National Defence Academy and Naval Academy (Executive Branch). If a candidate opts for National Defence Academy as his first choice, he must first indicate his preferences for different wings of National Defence Academy viz Army, Navy and Air Force followed by his preferences for Naval Academy (Executive Branch). Alternatively, if a candidate opts for Naval Academy (Executive Branch) as his first choice, he must first indicate his preference for Naval Academy (Executive Branch) as his first choice, followed by his preference for different wings of National Defence Academy. Thus candidates opting for Naval Academy (Executive Branch) Course as well as other courses of National Defence Academy must give Naval Academy (Executive Branch) as their first preference or the last preference. Naval Academy (Executive Branch) cannot be given as 2nd or 3rd preference. Even if Naval Academy (Executive Branch) is given as 2nd or 3rd preference by the candidate, it will be deemed to be the last preference.

(iv) Admission to the above courses will be made on the results of the written examination to be conducted by the Commission followed by intelligence and personality test by the Services Selection Board of candidates who qualify in the written examination.

Candidates should note that no request for change of centre will normally be granted. When a candidate, however, desires a change in centre from the one he had indicated in his application form for the Examination, he must send a letter addressed to the Secretary, Union Public Service Commission, giving full justification as to why he desires a change in centre. Such requests will be considered on merits but requests received after 16th May, 2007 will not be entertained under any circumstances.

Eligibility:
Conditions of Eligibility:
(a) Nationality: A candidate must either be:

I. A citizen of India, or

II. A subject of Bhutan, or

III. A subject of Nepal, or

IV. A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or

V. A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) and (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

Certificate of eligibility will not, however, be necessary in the case of candidates who are Gorkha subjects of Nepal.

(b) Age Limits, Sex and Marital Status: 2007Only unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd July, 1989 and not later than 1st January, 1992 are eligible2007.

The date of birth accepted by the Commission is that entered in the Matriculation or Secondary School Leaving Certificate or in a certificate recognised by an Indian University as equivalent to Matriculation or in an extract from a Register of Matriculates maintained by a University which must be certified by the proper authority of the University or in the Higher Secondary or an equivalent examination certificates. These certificates are required to be submitted only after the declaration of the result of the written part of the examination. No other document relating to age like horoscopes, affidavits, birth extracts from Municipal Corporation, service records and the like will be accepted. The expression Matriculation/Higher Secondary Examination Certificate in this part of the instruction includes the alternative certificates mentioned above.

Note 1: Candidates should note that only the Date of Birth as recorded in the Matriculation/Higher Secondary Examination Certificate or an equivalent certificate AVAILABLE on the date of submission of applications will be accepted by the Commission and no subsequent request for its change will be considered or granted.

Note 2: Candidates should also note that once a Date of Birth has been claimed by them and entered in the records of the Commission for the purpose of admission to an Examination, no change will be allowed subsequently or at any subsequent examination on any Ground Whatsoever.

Note 3: The candidates should exercise due care while entering their date of birth in column 8 of the application form for the Examination. If on verification at any subsequent stage any variation is found in their date of birth from the one entered in their Matriculation or equivalent Examination certificate, disciplinary action will be taken Against them by the Commission under the Rules.

Note 4: Candidates must undertake not to marry until they complete their full training. A candidate who marries subsequent to the Date of his application though successful at this or any subsequent examination will not be selected for training. A candidate who maRRies during training shall be discharged and will be liable to refund all expenditure incurred on him by the Government.

(c) Educational Qualifications:
I. For Army wing of National Defence Academy:- 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or a University.

II. For Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy and for the 10+2 (Executive Branch) Course at the Naval Academy: - 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equilvalent with Physics and Mathematics conducted by a State Education Board or a University.

Candidates who are appearing in the 12th Class under the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination can also apply for this examination.

Such Candidates who qualify the SSB interview but could not produce matriculation/10+2 or equivalent certificates in original at the time of ssb interview should forward the certificates along with photo copies thereof to 2007ADDL directorate general of recruiting, army Hq, west Block-iii, R.K.Puram, new delhi-110 0662007 and for naval academy candidates to naval 2007headquarters,dmpr (R&R) section, room no 204, 2007c2007 wing, sena bhawan, new delhi - 110 0112007 by 10th june, 2008 failing which their candidature will be cancelled. All other candidates who have produce their matriculation and 10+2 pass or equivalent certificates in original at the time of attending the SSB interview and have got the same verified by the SSB authorities are not required to submit the same to army hq or naval hq as the case may be. Certificates in original issued by the Principals of the institutions are also acceptable in cases where Boards/Universities have not yet issued certificates. Certified true copies/Photostat copies of such certificates will not be accepted.

In exceptional cases the Commission may treat a candidate, who does not possess any of the qualifications prescribed in this rule as educationally qualified provided that he possesses qualifications, the standard of which in the opinion of the Commission, justifies his admission to the examination.

Note 1: Candidates appearing in the 11th class exam are not eligible for this examination.

Note 2: Those candidates who have yet to qualify in the 12th class or equivalent examination and are allowed to appear in the UPSC Examination should note that this is only a special concession given to them. They are required to submit proof of passing the 12th class or equivalent examination by the prescribed date (i.e. 10th June 2008) and no request for extending this date will be entertained on the grounds of late conduct of Board/ University Examination, delay in declaration of results or any other ground whatsoever.

Note 3: Candidates who are debarred by the Ministry of Defence from holding any type of commission in the Defence Services shall not be eligible for admission to the examination and if admitted, their candidature will be cancelled.

Note 4: Those candidates who have failed INSB/PABT earlier are not eligible for Air Force.

(d) Physical Standards: Candidates must be physically fit according to physical standards for admission to National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination (II), 2007 as per guidelines given in Appendix-V.

(e) A candidate who has resigned or withdrawn on disciplinary grounds from any of the training academics of Armed Forces is not eligible to apply.

How To Apply:
(a) The UPSC have developed an application form common for all their examinations which can be processed on computerised machines. This application form alongwith an Information Brochure containing general instructions for filling up the form, an acknowledgement card and an envelope for sending the application will be obtainable from the designated Head Post Offices/Post Offices throughout the country as listed in Appendix-III of Notice against cash payment of Rs. 20/- (Rupees twenty only). Form should be purchased from the designated Head Post Offices/Post Offices only and not from any other agency. This form can be used only once and for only one examination. Candidates must use the form supplied with the Information Brochure only and they should in no case use photocopy/reproduction/unauthorisedly printed copy of the Form. Since this form is electronically scanned, due care should be taken to fill up the application form, correctly. While filling up the application form, refer to detailed instructions given in Appendix-II of this Notice. The candidates should also fill up in the relevant places of the Acknowledgement Card, their Application Form Number (8-digit) and the name of the examination. The applicants are required to affix the postage stamp of Rs. Six on the Acknowledgement Card and send the same along with application form to UPSC. If an applicant fails to affix the postage stamp of requisite amount his acknowledgement card will not be dispatched and Commission will not be responsible for non-receipt of acknowledgement cards by the applicant. The duly filled in application form and the acknowledgement card should then be mailed in the special envelope supplied with the Information Brochure. The candidate should also write the name of examination viz. 2007National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination-(II), 20072007 on the envelope before despatching it to 2007Secretary, Union Public Service Commission, Dholpur House, Shahjahan Road, New Delhi-1100692007. Candidates should mention their Tele/Fax Nos.

(b) All candidates whether already in Govt. service, Government owned industrial undertakings or other similar organisations or private employment should submit their application direct to the Commission. If any candidate forwards his application through his employer and it reaches the Union Public Service Commission late, the application, even if submitted to the employer before the closing date, will not be considered. Persons already in Government service whether in a permanent or temporary capacity or as work charged employees other than casual or daily rated employees or those serving under the Public Enterprises are however, required to submit an undertaking that they have informed in writing their Head of Office/Department that they have applied for this Examination.

Candidates should note that in case a communication is received from their employer by the Commission withholding permission to the candidates applying for/appearing at the examination, their applications will be liable to be rejected/candidature will be liable to be cancelled.

Candidates serving in the Armed Forces must submit their application through their Commanding Officer who will forward it to the Commission indicating in the forwarding letter the name of the applicant and his application form number (8 digit).

The applications of Sailors (including boys and artificers apprentices) of the Indian Navy will be entertained only if these have been duly recommended by their Commanding Officer.

Cadets of Rastriya Indian Military College (previously known as Sainik School, Dehra Dun), Students of Military Schools (formerly known as King Geroge2007s Schools) and Sainik Schools run by Sainik Schools Society should submit their applications through Principal of College/School concerned who will forward it to the Commission indicating in the forwarding letter the name of the applicant and his application form Number (8 digit). The forwarding letter should not be tagged or pinned with the application form.

Important Dates:

Two Stage Selection Procedures: Two stage selection procedure based on Psychological Aptitude Test and Intelligence Test has been introduced at Selection Centres/Air Force Selection Boards. All the candidates will be put to stage one test on first day of reporting at Selection Centres/Air Force Selection Boards. Only those candidates who qualify at stage one will be admitted to the second stage/remaining tests. Those candidates who qualify stage II will be required to submit the original Certificates along with one photocopy each of:

(i) Original Matriculation pass certificate or equivalent in support of date of birth;

(ii) Original 10+2 pass certificate or equivalent in support of educational qualification.

Candidates who appear before the Services Selection Board and undergo the test there will do so at their own risk and will not be entitled to claim any compensation or other relief from Government in respect of any injury which they may sustain in the course of or as a result of any of the tests given to them at the Services Selection Board whether due to the negligence of any person or otherwise. Parents or guardians of the candidates will be required to sign a certificate to this effect.

To be acceptable, candidates for the Army/Navy and Naval Academy should secure the minimum qualifying marks separately in (I) Written examination and (II) Officer potentiality test, as fixed by the Commission in their discretion, and candidates for the Air Force should secure the minimum qualifying marks separately in (I) Written examination (II) Officer potentiality test, and (III) Pilot Aptitude Test as fixed by the Commission in their discretion.

N.B: Every candidate for the Air Force is given Pilot Aptitude Test only once. The Grade secured by him at the first test will there-fore hold good for every subsequent interview he has with the Air Force Selection Board. A candidate who fails in the first Pilot Aptitude Test cannot apply for admission to the National Defence Academy Examination for the Air Force wing or General Duties (Pilot) Branch or Naval Air Arm.

Candidates who have been given the Pilot Aptitude Test for any previous N.D.A. course should submit their application for this examination for the Air Force Wing only if they have been notified as having qualified in the Pilot Aptitude Test.

The form and manner of communication of the result of the examination to individual candidates shall be decided by the Commission at their discretion and the Commission will not enter into correspondence with them regarding the result.

Success in the examination confers no right of admission to the Academy. A candidate must satisfy the appointing authority that he is suitable in all respects for admission to the Academy.

All India Entrance Examination for Admission to MBBS/ BDS Course, 2007 under 15% merit positions in Medical/ Dental colleges.

Applications are invited in the prescribed form for All India Pre-Medical / Pre-Dental Entrance Examination (AIPMT) 2007 to be conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Delhi as per the following schedule for admission to 15% of the total seats for Medical/Dental Courses in all Medical/Dental colleges run by the Union of India, State Governments, Municipal or other local authorities in India except in the States of Andhra Pradesh And Jammu & Kashmir:-

1. Preliminary Examination - 1st April, 2007 (Sunday)
2. Final Examination - 13th May , 2007 (Sunday)

AIPMT Nature of exam:
Preliminary: Phys & Chem (100) Bot & Zoo (100) [Objective] Time: 3Hrs.
Negative Marking: 1/3, MM 600

Final Exam: Phys & Chem (2 hrs.) MM 100, Bot & Zoo (2 hrs.) MM 100 [non- objective]

AIPMT Syllabus: The exam includes all the syllabus upto 12th Std (Physics, Chemistry, Biology). The syllabus is common to both Preliminary and final exam.

Eligibility:
Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply.

He/She has completed 17 years at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before 31st December of the year of his/her admission. Candidates born on or after 02-01-1991 are not eligible.

The upper age limit for All India Pre-Medical Entrance Examination is 25 years as on 31st December of the year of the entrance examination. Further provided that this upper age limit shall be relaxed by a period of 5 (five) years for the candidates of Scheduled Castes/Schedule Tribes/Other Backward Classes

The number of attempts which a candidate can avail at All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Examination shall be limited to 3 (three) uniformly for all the candidates.

One Time Exception: Candidates who have already attained the age of 25 years and or availed three attempts or more will be permitted to appear in All India Pre-Medical / Pre-Dental Entrance Examination, 2007 as a last chance.

The candidate must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology at the qualifying examination. In respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes or Other Backward Classes the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in qualifying examination be 40% instead of 50% for General Candidates. Those who are taking plus two examination in 2007 can also appear for the entrance test provisionally subject to their fulfilling the conditions later.

The AIPMT Information Bulletin and Application Form costing Rs.400/- for General Category candidates and Rs.200/- for SC/ST candidates inclusive of examination fee can be obtained against Cash Payment from any of the following branches of Canara Bank/ Regional Offices of the CBSE between 09-10-2006 to 18-11-2006. An objective type (MCQ) Entrance Test for admission to B. Pharmacy course in Government B. Pharmacy College, Rohroo, District Shimla (H.P.) for the session 2007-07 will be held on July 23, 2007 (Sunday) on behalf of the Director Technical Education, Himachal Pradesh at Shimla, Mandi, Dharamshala and Hamirpur Examination Centres for which the applications are invited from the eligible candidates on the orescribed form available in the Prospectus.

Eligibility:
(i) For admission to 85% State Quota Seats, the candidate(s) should be bonafide/ domicile of Himachal Pradesh. For admission to 15% All India Quota Seats, there is no such condition of domicile/bonafide of Himachal Pradesh.

(ii) Should be a pass in 10+2 examination with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects alongwith one of the following subjects: Mathematics/ Biology/Bio-Technology/Computer Science.

(iii) Age/Date of birth: Only those candidates whose date of birth falls on or after October 01, 1981 are eligible. However, in case of SC/ST and Physically Handicapped candidates upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years who were born on or after October 01,1976 are eligible. Date of birth as recorded in the Secondary Education Board/University Certificate only will be taken as authentic.

How To Apply:
(i) By Cash: For prescribed application form and detailed information etc., the Prospectus can be obtained at the University, Sale Counter No,2, Administrative Block, Shimla-5 from 12.6.2007 to 30.6.2007 during working hours on payment of Rs.500/- for General & others categories, and Rs.250/-forSC/STcategoriesonly.

(ii) By post: The requests for supply of the Prospectus by post can only be addressed to the Deputy Registrar (Entrance Tests) H.P. University, Shimla-171005 accompanied by crossed IPOs/Bank Draft amounting to Rs.550/- in case of General & other categories, and Rs.300/- for SC/ST categories only drawn in favour of the Finance Officer. H.P. University. Shimla-5.

No request for sending the prospectus by post will be entertained after 22.6.2007, while applying for supply of prospectus by post, the candidate must write the B. Pharmacy Prospectus-2007 is required and complete mailing address in capital letters alongwith telephone number be mentioned.

Important Dates:
The last date for receipt of application forms complete in all respects either by hand or by post in the office of the Deputy Registrar (Entrance Tests) is 30.6.2007 upto 5 PM where after no applications shall be accepted. By post application is to be despatched by Registered Post/Speed-Post only.

Karnataka Common Entrance Test (CET 2007)
Common Entrance Test or CET Karnataka is conducted for the purpose of admitting students to first year Courses in Engineering Medical (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery MBBS) Dental Courses in Bangalore , Mangalore, and other districts in Karnataka, All professional colleges (educational) within the Karnataka State which offers Medical Education, Dental Education and Engineering are affiliated to the state run Universities and recognized by the MCI, DCI and AICTE. Education that fall to the share of the Karnataka State Government. The fee Structure differs every year for Karnataka State students and other (non Karnataka) students. These in turn are split between the Karnataka State Government and the college management. The payment seats are further sub-divided into Karnataka quota and Non-Karnataka quota. (From 2005 non Karnataka students are not allowed the other way get admission is management quota)

For Medical / Dental courses, the applicant should have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC / 12th std. or equivalent exam with PHYSICS, CHEMISTRY & BIOLOGY as optional subjects and with ENGLISH as one of the languages of study and have obtained at least 50% of the aggregate marks in the PCB group and should secure not less than 50% of marks taken together in PCB subjects in the Common Entrance Test. In case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes, the minimum marks for the purpose of eligibility will be 40% of the aggregate in PCB group in both qualifying examination and Common Entrance Test.

For Ayurveda / Homoeopathy / Unani / Naturopathy & Yoga courses, the applicant should have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC / 12th std. or equivalent exam with PHYSICS, CHEMISTRY & BIOLOGY as optional subjects with ENGLISH as one of the languages of study and obtained at least 50% of the aggregate marks in the PCB group, irrespective of marks obtained in the Common Entrance Test. In case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes, the minimum marks for the purpose of eligibility will be 40% of the aggregate marks in the optional subjects in the qualifying examination.

For Architecture course, the applicant should have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC / 12th Std. or equivalent exam with Mathematics as a compulsory optional subject and obtained at least 50% of marks in aggregate in all the subjects in the qualifying examination and should compulsorily appear for Nata (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) and score a minimum of 40% in Nata. In case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes, the minimum marks for the purpose of eligibility will be 45% of the aggregate marks in all subjects in the qualifying examination and 35% score in Nata.

Note:
Other Backward Classes means the reserved categories such as Category - 1, 2A, 2B, 3A & 3B for the purpose of reservation.

A candidate who had obtained a seat in any discipline through the CET Cell in any of the previous years will not be eligible to appear for the Common Entrance Test - 2007 for selection of a seat in the same discipline. Such candidate will immediately forfeit the seat selected by him during the previous years, upon selection of a seat in a different discipline during this year.

Important: The Merit list of candidates for admission to Medical and Dental courses will be determined only on the basis of marks obtained by candidates in PCB subjects taken together in the Common Entrance Test. For Ayurveda / Homoeopathy / Unani / Naturopathy & Yoga / Engineering / Technology courses, the Merit list will be determined on the basis of marks obtained in the respective optional subjects, in both qualifying examination and the Common Entrance Test taken in equal proportions. For Architecture course, the Merit list will be determined on the basis of marks obtained in both qualifying examination and NATA taken in equal proportions.

Supply of Brochure with Application Form: Brochure with application form will be supplied through the schools and colleges located within the State of Karnataka in which the candidates are studying 12th standard or 2nd PUC examination upon submission of a Demand Draft for Rs. 550/- to the Principals in advance, drawn in favour of The Special Officer, CET Cell, Bangalore payable at Bangalore and Rs. 400/- for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Category - 1. All India Competitive Examination for Admissions to Master’s Degree Programmes in the Field of Agriculture, Veterinary and Allied Sciences

Exam Details:
Applications are invited for the 11th All India Competitive Examination for admissions to 100% seats of Masters Degree programme at IARI, IVRI, CIFE, NDRI and 25% seats at all the State Agricultural Universities, Central Universities (CAU, BHU,AMU, and VisvaBharti), and AAIDU in the, field of Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Agri. Engineering, Home Science, Social Sciences, Dairy, Fisheries, Veterinary, and Allied Sciences for the Academic Session 2006-2007 and award of ICARs Junior Research Fellowships (JRF).

The details of the Major Subject Groups and the Subject areas have been given in the Information Bulletin, the Fellowships based on merit can be availed in Agricultural Universities, ICAR Institutes based Deemed-to-be-Universities, and other institutions namely BHU, AMU, VisvaBharti, and AAIDU. There are 475 Fellowships (JRF) in 19 major subject groups which will be awarded based on merit rank of the candidate in this examination. The Fellowships at present are at the rate of Rs.8, 000/- per month for graduates of Veterinary Science and Rs.5, 760/- per month for graduates in other disciplines for a period of two years with a contingent grant of Rs.6, 000/- per annum for all. 15% seats and JRF are reserved for SC, 7.5% for S.T., and 3% for Physically Handicapped (RH.) candidates. Two percent seats are also reserved for the candidates from under-privileged states (UPS) not having any Agricultural/ Veterinary University, There is no reservation of JRF for candidates of UPS category. They would be entitled for JRF based on overall merit. There will not be any direct nomination for admissions. The admission as well as JRF will be given only to those candidates who join the Masters Degree Programme in a University/ Institute other than from where he/ she has obtained Bachelors Degree except NDRI, Karnal for the Academic Session commencing 2006 only,

Date and Venue of the Examination: Examination will be held on 21 May, 2006 (Sunday) from 10.00 A.M. to 12.30 P.M. at 27 different Examination Centres all over the country as specified in the Information Bulletin. In no case, even of JRF, claims for reimbursement of travel expenses or cost/loss of any kind incurred by the candidate or the guardian for attending the Examination, Counseling, and reporting for admission will be entertained. The ICAR/Universities will not reimburse such claims/costs.

Eligibility:
Candidates having passed their Bachelors Degree (or appearing in final year examination during the year 2006), in the field of Agriculture, Veterinary, Agricultural Engineering, Fisheries, Horticulture, Home Science, Sericulture, Dairy Technology, Dairy Engineering, Forestry, Agri. Marketing Banking and Cooperation, Food Science & Technology, Biotechnology, Process & Food Engineering, Computer Science, Basic, and Allied Sciences under 10+2+4 (most seats) or 10+2+3 (only few seats) are eligible to apply for the combined examination for JRF and admission to Masters Degree Programme as per norms of participating Universities. Candidates must have obtained OGPA 6.60/10.00 or 3.25/ 5.00 or 2.6/ 4.00 for general & UPS categories and 5.50/10.00 or 2.75/ 5.00 or 2.20/4.00 for SC, ST and Physically handicapped categories.

For admission in the subject of Veterinary Sciences, candidates must have completed B.V.Sc. & A.H. with Internship before the date of registration in the University or December 31, 2006 which so ever is earlier. He/she should be an Indian National and should be completing minimum 19 year of age as on 31st August 2006.

The candidate appearing in the Bachelors Degree Examination in the year 2006 are also eligible–to apply provisionally, but they will have to submit Certificate/ Provisional Marks Sheet signed by the Registrar of the University of their having completed the degree in all respects on the date of Counseling. Non-submission of documentary evidence for having completed the Degree at the time of Counseling will disqualify the candidate.

Most of the participating Universities/ Institutes in this Examination require four years U.G. degree. In few Universities/ Institutes, graduates from non-agricultural stream are also eligible for admission to Masters Degree Programme only in some of the specified subjects. For such candidates, if admitted, the duration of Masters Degree Programme would be of 3 years at IARI and some other Universities as the 1st year will be for completing remedial courses in Agriculture and no fellowship would be paid during the first year to such candidates. For admission, the candidate has to fulfill the eligibility criteria of the admitting University even if he/ she may have been called for counseling.

AMUPMDC ASSO-CET 2006

Asso-CET-2006 shall be conducted by the Competent Authority appointed by the Association of Managements of Unaided Private Medical and Dental Colleges.

Further information, if any, about Entrance Test, will be uploaded and published regularly on the Association.

Common Entrance Test (Asso-CET-2006) will be held on Monday, 1st May 2006 for the academic year 2006-07 for admissions to MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, BPTh, BOTh & BSc-Nsg courses in the state of Maharashtra.

Eligibility:
A candidate will be eligible for admission to Health Science Courses i.e. MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, BPTh, BOTh, BSc-Nursing for the academic year 2006 07 on fulfillment of the following conditions:

1. The candidate may be an Indian National/ NRI/ Foreign National. The candidate is required to produce proof in support of his/her Nationality from a District Magistrate, Additional Magistrate or Metropolitan Magistrate. Valid Passport also shall be considered as sufficient proof of Nationality.

2. The candidate must be born on or before 1ST January, 1990 to be eligible to appear for Asso-CET-2006. The Secondary School Certificate (i.e. SSC) or equivalent examination certificate or the certificates of age and nationality endorsing the date of birth will constitute the valid proof.

3. The candidate must be medically fit and must submit a certificate of medical fitness.

4. A candidate must have passed the qualifying examination i. e. Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) or equivalent examination (with English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology as subjects). NRIs and Foreign Nationals shall submit eligibility certificate obtained from Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik.

5. For MBBS & BDS Courses, a candidate must have obtained not less than 50 % (i.e. 150 out of 300) marks is Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together at the HSC (or equivalent) Examination.

a. For B.Sc. Nursing candidate must have obtained not less than 45% (135 out of 300) marks in PCB taken together in HSC/equivalent examination.

b. For BAMS, BHMS, BPTh, BOTh, rule no. 5.5 is not applicable to these course, passing at Std . XII or HSC or equivalent exam is necessary.

6. No rounding off of the marks secured by the candidate will be done in individual subject or final total while converting marks of the individual subject out of 100 or total marks out of 300. For example, if the total of the marks in three subjects comes to 149 out of 300, percentage comes to 49.66 that will not qualify the candidate.

7. The candidates who are appearing for the qualifying examination i.e. HSC or equivalent in March/April 2006 are also eligible to appear for Asso-CET-2006, provided they must fulfill the eligibility conditions.

8. The eligibility conditions may vary in accordance with Judicial Pronouncements and orders issued by appropriate Authorities from time to time

How To Apply:
Application forms & information brochure of Asso-CET-2006 for selection of candidates for admission to 1st year MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, BPTh, BOTh & BSc-Nsg courses will be available at the all Private Medical & Dental Colleges & other notified centers given below from 1st march 2006 to 31st March 2006 on payment of Rs.500/- by DD drawn in favour of AMUPMDC and payable at Mumbai. The fees for examination is Rs.1, 000/- payable by DD. Application forms will also be available from AMUPMDC, Mumbai office by post with an additional DD of Rs.100/- for postal charges.

All the Health Science colleges are affiliated to Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik. All the Medical Colleges are approved by Medical Council of India, Dental Colleges by Dental Council of India and other health science colleges by their Respective Central Councils.

1. Prescribed application forms can be obtained from the Notified Centers against DD drawn on the Nationalized Bank in the name of the AMUPMDC payable at Mumbai for Rs. 500/- (Rupees Five Hundred Only) between 10:30 am to 04:30 pm.

2. Application forms will also be available from Associations office by post with an additional DD of Rs. 100/- for postal charges.

3. The Application Form must be filled by the candidate in his/ her own handwriting using black ballpoint pen. The application form complete in all respect shall be submitted directly to the office of AMUPMDC, Mumbai either in person or by Post / Courier. The filled application is to be duly returned in the Envelope provided with the application form along with DD drawn on AMUPMDC payable at Mumbai for Rs. 1,000/- (Rupees One thousand only).

4. Application Form Submitted by Post must be accompanied by a self-addressed and stamped envelope along with Receipt-cum-Identity Card for acknowledgement.

5. Incomplete application forms will be rejected.

6. The official at the AMUPMDC office while accepting the application form shall issue the Receipt cum Identity Card attesting the photograph of the candidate with signature and stamp.

7. Candidate will receive the Admit Card by Speed Post/Courier by 20th April 2006. Incase the candidate does not receive Admit Card by 20th April 2006 he/ she should approach the Association Office for further instructions.

8. The candidate is required to preserve the Receipt Cum Identity Card and Admit Card for all future reference & correspondence.

9. The candidate shall submit one and only one application form. In case candidate submits more than one application form, he/she shall be disqualified for appearing for Asso-CET-2006.

Marit List
1. Basis of Merit Ranking.
Marks obtained by the candidate at the Asso-CET-2006 will form the basis of selection.

2. Tie Breakers.
In case of equal marks at the Asso-CET-2006, the following procedure shall be adopted for deciding inter se merit.

a. First level: A candidate with higher marks in Biology at the Asso-CET-2006 Exam shall be preferred, if the tie still persists then:

b. Second level: A candidate with higher marks in Chemistry at the Asso-CET-2006 Exam shall be preferred, if the tie still persists then;

c. Third level: A candidate with higher percentage of aggregate marks at the SSC(or equivalent) Exam shall be preferred, if the tie still persists then:

d. Fourth level: An older candidate shall be preferred over a younger candidate.
