The University of Delhi will hold a Combined Entrance Examination (CEE) for admission to First Semester of Bachelor of Engineering Courses for the session 2007-2008 for DELHI REGION candidates passing from Schools / Colleges / Institute located within the National Capital Territory of Delhi in Delhi College of Engineering (DCE) and Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology (NSIT) on Sunday, the 27th May, 2007

Examination: The Combined Entrance Examination consists of objective type question in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (Combined).

Eligibility:
The candidates having Indian nationality should have passed Senior School Certificate Examination from the recognised School/ College/ Institute located within the National Capital Territory of Delhi or any other examination recognised as equivalent thereto by the University of Delhi securing 60% or more marks in the aggregate of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (50% or more marks for candidates belonging to SC/ST category, 55% or more marks for candidates belonging to CW (Defence)/ Physically Handicapped category). The candidates who are appearing in the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply for the CEE-2007.

Minimum Age: 17 years on or before 1st October, 200

Reservation of seats:
1. 15% seats for Scheduled Castes and 7.5% seats for scheduled Tribes.

2. 5% seats for Children / Widows of Personnel of Armed / Para Military Forces killed / disabled in action during hostilities (CW).

3. 3% seats for Physically Handicapped (1% for persons with low vision or blindness, 1% for hearing impaired, 1% for those with loco motor disabilities and / or cerebral palsy),

4. The reservation of Other Backward Classes (OBC) candidates as per the Government of India directives is currently being processed. Percentage / number of seats and modalities of such reservation will be notified separately in due course.

Note: All candidates (viz covered under General /SC/ST / CW / PH Category) will be required to appear in the Combined Entrance Examination CEE-2007.

How To Apply:
Bulletin of Information for CEE-2007 for Delhi Region only: The Bulletin of Information containing further details, prescribed application form and syllabi for CEE-2007 can be obtained from the sale counter of the

(1) Faculty of Technology, (Delhi University), Room No. HCFF-13, First Floor (Health Centre) Delhi College of Engineering (New Campus), Bawana Road, Delhi-110042

(2) Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology, Sector-3, Dwarka, Papankalan, New Delhi-110045

On submission of a Pay Order / Demand Draft drawn on any Bank of Rs. 400/- (inclusive of examination fee) on working days from Monday to Friday between 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (lunch 01:00 to 01:30 p.m.)

The Bulletin of Information can also be obtained by post by sending a Pay Order / Demand Draft drawn on any bank of Rs. 475/- (inclusive of examination fee and postal charges). The request for supply of Bulletin of Information by post should be sent to the Dean, Faculty of Technology (Delhi University) Room No. HCFF-13, First Floor, (Health Centre) Delhi College of Engineering (New Campus), Bawana Road, Delhi-110042 alongwith two self addressed slips.

The Demand Draft / Pay Order should be in favour of the REGISTRAR, DELHI UNIVERSITY, DELHI. Please write your name, address and telephone number ( if any) at the back of the Demand Draft / Pay Order.

The University will not be responsible for any postal delay.

CEE 2007 Notification

Important Dates:
i) Sale of Bulletin of Information w.e.f. 23.03.2007 to 16.04.2007
ii) Last date for receipt of request for supply of Bulletion by post : 05.04.2007
iii) Last date for receipt of completed application form 16.04.2007 (5:30 p.m.)

Centers of examination are located in the National Capital Territory of Delhi only.

Exam Details:
The Delhi University Medical-Dental Entrance Test (DUMET) for admission to Under-Graduate courses, i.e. MBBS and BDS will be held on Sunday, 21st May 2006 at Delhi.

Eligibility:
Educational Qualification for admission to MBBS/ BDS course: The candidates must have passed 12th class examination under 10+2 systems with required subjects, i.e. Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English from a recognised school conducting regular Classes and situated within the National Capital Territory of Delhi. The candidates must have passed in the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks (40% marks for candidates belonging to SC/ ST category) taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The candidates must have studied 11th and 12th classes regularly from a recognised school situated within the National Capital Territory of Delhi.

Female candidates belonging to Schedule Caste (SC)/ Schedule Tribe (ST)/ Children, Widows & Wives of Armed & Para Military Personnel (CWWAPP) category who have passed qualifying examination from Indian Boards/Universities or Foreign Boards/ Universities may also apply for admission to Lady Hardinge Medical College. The condition of studying 11th and 12th class from a school situated with the National Capital Territory of Delhi shall not be applicable to these candidates.

How to Apply:
Interested candidates may apply on the prescribed application form. The application form along with Bulletin of Information (BOI) is obtainable from the office of the Assistant Registrar, Faculty of Medical Sciences, 6th Floor, V. P. Chest Institute Building, University of Delhi, Delhi-110007, against a bank Draft/Bankers Cheque drawn on any Nationalised Bank in favour of Registrar, University of Delhi payable at Delhi, in the following manner:

(i) By hand for Rs.550.00 (Rupees Five Hundred Fifty only) between 10:00 A.M. to 01:00 P.M. on all working days from 27th February, 2006 to 3rd April 2006.

(ii) By Post for Rs.600.00 (Rupees Six Hundred only) along with a self addressed envelope of 10 x 8 up to 17th March, 2006

The application form along with BOI can also be obtained, by hand only, from Lady Hardinge Medical College, Maulana Azad Medical Cortege and University College of Medical Sciences.

Applications duly filled in and complete in all respect should reach to the Assistant Registrar, Faculty of Medical Sciences, 6th Floor, V.P. Chest Institute Building, University of Delhi, Delhi-110007 on or before 3rd April 2006 up to 05:30 P.M.

Important Dates:
The last date for receipt of request for supply of the application form along with BOI by Post is 17th March 06.

MBBS and BDS will be held on Sunday, 21st May 2006 at Delhi.

Bangalore: India’s first Space University takes wings in August

Indias first space university is all set to take wings next month seeking to groom tailor-made experts to fuel the countrys satellite and rocket programmes.

August middle is our target, said G Madhavan Nair, Chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation, which is setting up the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST) and expected to meet the high technology requirements of ISRO.

It would initially operate from the campus of the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre at Thiruvananthapuram, a lead centre of ISRO, which will create a full-fledged infrastructure for IIST on a picturesque site in Ponmudi near the Kerala state capital in about two years.
