Candidates fulfilling the following criteria are eligible to apply for the course:-
1. MBBS Degree from an Institution recognized by the Medical Council of India.
2. MSc in Biosciences / allied subjects or B. Tech. in Biotechnology from a recognized University with minimum 60% marks or equivalent in the qualifying examination (relaxed by 5% for SC/ST, Defence category and Physically Handicapped candidates).
Age: The upper age limit is 45 years for in-service candidates and 28 years for other as on 31st July, 2007. The upper age limit can be relaxed up to a maximum of 5 years in exceptional cases by the Admission Officer of NICD if he / she are satisfied with the merit of the case.
Seats: Intake will be limited to a maximum of 10 seats. Of this, three seats are earmarked for World Health Organization sponsored fellows. For the remaining 7 seats, admission will be done on the basis of the Screening Test. These will be distributed in the ratio of 60% for In-Service Candidates (working in Health institutions / organizations in Central / State Government or Public Sector and having five years experience, of which at least 3 (three) years should be in Public Health activities) and 40% for Direct candidates. A maximum of 5 (five) seats are earmarked for candidates from medical stream and two (2) seats for those from allied Health Sciences stream. In-Service Candidates shall, at the time of application or counselling for admission, furnish a letter from their employer that, if they are admitted, they would be relieved for two years for undertaking the course on a full-time basis at NICD. Reservation will be as per University Norms (Final decision regarding reservation policy will be announced on University website www.ipu.ac.in before the start of first counselling.)
Selection: This will be on the basis of Screening Test to be conducted on 24th June, 2007 (Sunday) in Delhi. Additional Test Centers can be considered at Mumbai, Kolkata and Bangalooru (Bangalore) subject to availability of sufficient candidates. WHO sponsored candidates are exempted from appearing in the Screening Test, admission for such candidates will be made by the University on the basis of merit. How To Apply:
Application Form and Information Bulletin for admission to MPH (FE) for the academic session 2007-08 will be available between 10.00 A.M. and 4.00 P.M. on all working days from 21st May 2007 to 8th June 2007 on payment of Rs. 400/-(Four Hundred Only) in the form of Demand Draft in favour of “Director, National Institute of Communicable Diseases” payable at “Delhi”. For obtaining the same by registered post a Crossed Demand Draft for Rs. 450/- (Four Hundred and Fifty) in favour of “Director, National Institute of communicable Diseases” payable at “Delhi” should be sent to the Administrative Officer (F), National Institute of Communicable Diseases, 22-Sham Nath Marg, Delhi-54 so as to reach the Institute by 6.00 PM on 1″ June, 2007.
