Exam Details:
National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT) and Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi shall hold All India Joint Entrance Examination (JEE)-2007 on 15th April, 2007 (Sunday) 10.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. for admission to 1st Year of 3-Year BSc (Hospitality and Hotel Administration) at affiliated Institute of Hotel Management all over the country for the 2007-08 academic sessions.

National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology is an autonomous body under Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. The Council centrally regulates academics for hospitality and hotel administration and other eleven structured courses of studies that are imparted at the existing 26 Institutes of Hotel Management and 10 Food Craft Institutes located in different parts of the country. All Institutes uniformly follow standardized course curricula prescribed by the Council for the different professional programmes.

Language of Question Paper: Question Paper will be bilingual i.e. in English and Hindi (except for English Language)

Marking Scheme for JEE Written Test: For each question you will be awarded one mark if you have darkened only one bubble corresponding to the correct answer. In case you have not darkened any bubble or have darkened more than one bubble, you will be awarded zero mark for that question. There will be negative marking to the extent of half mark for darkening a wrong bubble. There will be no negative marking for Aptitude for Service Sector.

Result of Written Test: Result of Written Test shall be announced on the web site of the National Council by the last week of May, 2007.

Commencement of Academic Session: Academic Session 2007-2008 will commence on 16th July, 2007 in all the affiliated institutes.

Eligibility:
Minimum Qualification: Minimum qualification for admission is a pass in the examination of 10+2 system of Senior Secondary education or its equivalent with English as one of the compulsory subject. Those appearing in 10+2 or equivalent examination can also appear in JEE 2007 for being considered on provisional basis. Provisional admissions will stand cancelled if proof of having passed the qualifying examination (10+2 or its equivalent) is not submitted to the allotted Institute at the time of admission. Admissions will be subject to verification of facts from the original certificates/ documents to be produced by the candidates at the time of admission in Institute. Even after admission to an Institute, if an applicant is at a later date found ineligible on account of having submitted false information or testimonials or for having suppressed any material information, his/her admission will be cancelled and the fee deposited will also be forfeited. Decision of National Council regarding the eligibility shall be final.

List of approved qualifying examinations for Indian Students

Plus two level examination in the 10+2 pattern of Senior Secondary education of any recognized Central/ State Board, such as Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi and Council for Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi.

Intermediate or two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board/ University.

General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/ Cambridge/ Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level.

High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University.

Any Public School/ Board/ University Examination in India or in foreign country recognized by the Association of India Universities as equivalent to 10+2 pattern of Senior Secondary education.

H.S.C. Vocational Examination.

Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects including English as one of the Subjects.

Age Limit: For candidates from General and Physically Handicapped categories, only those whose date of birth falls on or after July 01, 1985 are eligible. In the case of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates upper age limit is relaxable by 3 years. For these two categories (SC & ST) candidates, born on or after July 01, 1982 will be eligible. Date of birth as recorded in the Secondary Education Board/ Pre-University Certificate is the only authentic proof that will be accepted. At the time of counseling, this certificate must be produced in original as a proof of age, failing which the candidate will not be considered for provisional admission.

Physical Fitness: All qualified candidates will have to submit a physical fitness certificate from a Registered Medical Practitioner in the prescribed format given in this Brochure at the time of admission.

Kashmiri Migrant: One seat in each IHM on supernumerary basis subject to notification by Ministry of HRD

Withdrawal of Candidature at the Time of Counselling: Candidates are free to withdraw their candidature on spot at the time of Counselling. In that case, fee of Rs.10,000/- deposited in the form of Demand Draft / Pay Order shall be returned to them on the spot. Fee so collected shall not be refunded after acceptance of allotment of Institute by the candidate.

Change of Written Test Centre: Change of Written Test Centre within a city will not be considered. Under exceptional circumstances, change of center may be permitted if an application with valid reasons for the change of center is received in the JEE Cell on or before 1st April, 2007 along with non refundable fees of Rs.500/- by Demand Draft drawn in favour of National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology, payable at New Delhi. The National Council for Hotel Management reserves the right to reject such request in case the test center will not be in a position to accommodate any extra candidate.

Eligibility:
The candidate for admission to PGDBM-Oil & Gas must hold a Bachelors Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA, of any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India. The Bachelors Degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the candidate must entail a minimum of three years of education after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent. The basis of computing the percentage obtained by the candidate in the bachelors degree would be based on the practice followed by the university/ institution from where the candidate has obtained the degree. In case of the candidates being awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the equivalence would be based on the equivalence certified by the university/ institution from where they have obtained bachelor’s degree. In case the university/ institution does not have any scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by the IPMG by dividing obtained CGPA with the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the resultant with 100.

Weightage will be given for industry-experience in supervisory/ managerial capacity. The candidates having experience in oil / gas / energy sector will be given additional weightage.

SELECTION PROCESS: Candidates who have appeared for CAT conducted by IIMs on 19th Nov 2006 and The selection process consists of an Entrance Test, Group Discussion and Personal Interview (GD/PI). The list of candidates to be admitted will be prepared based on past academic performance and performance at the entrance test & GD/PI.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE
· Appear at the IPMG Petroleum Management Aptitude Test (PMAT) 2006 to be conducted by IPMG on Saturday, November 25, 2006. Details are available at below links or website www.germi.org/ipmg.
· Final selection will be based on past academic performance and performance at the entrance test & GD/PI.

ADMISSION TEST
The entrance test will be conducted at the following centres: Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi & Vadodara at venues to be notified later.

The test will comprise four sections:
English
Mathematics
Mental Aptitude
General Knowledge (including the awareness on Oil & Gas Sector)

Each section would be containing 30 questions. In all there shall be 120 questions of objective nature, with each question having four alternative answers.

· The entrance test shall be in English only.
· The test shall be of two hours duration.
· There shall be negative marking of 25% of the marks allotted to the question for wrong answers.
