National Talent Scholarship: To promote agricultural education in the country, National Talent Scholarship @ Rs.1, 000/- per month shall, be awarded to all the finally admitted candidates who join any University? Which is not within the domicile state of the candidate.

Scheme of Examination: There will be only one question paper consisting of objective type questions in Physics, Chemistry and Biology / Agriculture for STREAM - A and Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics for STREAM - B. The candidates may choose any Stream according to their eligibility and choice of the subjects. The question paper will be bilingual i.e. ENGLISH and HINDI.

Reservation of Seats: There would be reservation of seats for admissions in all the subjects to the extent 15% for Scheduled Castes, 7.5% for Scheduled Tribes, 3% for Physically Handicapped candidates, and 2% for candidates from Underprivileged states (UPS) as defined in the Information Bulletin.

Eligibility:

Number of Seats
The total number of seats for the academic year 2006-07 will be 660 for the 4-year programs, with 360 at Waknaghat and 300 at Guna. These numbers may change depending on the academic profiles of the candidates. The number of seats for Bio-technology at Jaypee Institute of Information Technology, Noida is 90. Students are offered an opportunity to opt for dual degree B.Tech, M.Tech programmes at the end of 4th semester. At JUIT, Waknaghat, 5% additional seats over and above the normal intake capacity will be allotted to bonafide students of the State of Himachal Pradesh who have passed the qualifying examination from institutions located in Himachal Pradesh. Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Panlnagar: Bachelors degree under 10+2+4/ 5 pattern of education in Agriculture, Veterinary Sciences, Horticulture, or Forestry with at least 55% marks from a recognized University & Students with Bachelors degree in Science wilh either ZBC or PCM groups are eligible to take admission after qualifying the entrance examination. Remedial courses are mandatory which may extend the degree.

(IV) For Indira Gandhi Agricultural University, Raipur: Bachelors degree under 10+2+4/5 pattern of education in Agriculture, Veterinary. Dairy Technology. Horticulture, Forestry with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade from a recognized University.

(V) For Kerala Agricultural University, Thrissur: Bachelors degree under 10+2+4 pattern of education in Agriculture, Horticulture, or Forestry with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade from a recognized University.

(VI) For Marathwada Agricultural University, Parbhani: Bachelors degree under 10+2+4 pattern of education in Agriculture. Horticulture, of Forestry with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade from a recognized University.

(VII) For Orissa University of Agriculture & Technology, Bhubaneswar: Bachelors degree under 10+2+4 pattern of education in Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry wilh at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade point average of 6.5 in 10 point scale OR 3.0 in 4 point scale from any recognized University.

(VIII) For Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore: Bachelors degree under 10+2+4 pattern of edueatiort in Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry OR Agricultural Engineering, with at least 70% marks or equivalent grade from a recognized University; and

(IX) For University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad: Bachelors degree in Agriculture, Horticulture or Forestry from a recognized Agriculture University. CGPA not less inan 2.25/4.00 or 6.50/10.00 or its equivalent. For SC/ST and Category 1 candidates, mere pass is enough.

Tuition Fee/ Scholarship: Fee shall be charged from the admitted candidates as per the fee structure of concerned University. Candidates may please note that the MSc Biotechnology programme being offered at Punjabi University, Patiala and Thapar Institute of Engg and Technology Patiala, is currently not being financially supported by the Department of Biotechnology. Therefore, the award of scholarships, if any, shall be governed by the rules prevailing in these Universities. Students admitted to Gulbarga University and Mysore University will not get any scholarship.

Reservation/ Concession:
(a) Reservation 15%, 7V4% and 3% of seats shall be reserved for SC, ST and Physically Challenged (Handicapped) (PH) candidates respectively. All the SC/ST and PH candidates who have passed the qualifying examination are eligible to apply irrespective of their percentage of marks in the qualifying degree examination.

(b) Concession for Kashmiri Migrants: 10% marks will be added to the overall marks scored by a Kashmiri Migrant candidate in the entrance examination. Eligibility: A degree in any subject or engineering diploma as recognized by a state government or the central government. Final-year degree students can also appear for CST 2006 subject to the condition that proof of their qualifying for the Degree shall be produced by end December 2006. Exam Details: Applications are invited for admission to the MBBS course at Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune, commencing from 01 Aug 2006. Total 130 candidates (including a maximum of 25 girls) will be selected. All the 105 boys and 25 girls admitted to Armed Forces Medical College, Pune have compulsory liability to serve as commissioned officers in the Armed Forces Medical Services on graduation. The type of commission will depend upon the vacancies available and merit-cum-option at the final MBBS examination. The liability of the SSC officers passing out of AFMC to serve the Armed Forces Medical Services would be seven (7) years. All candidates admitted to the college are required to execute a bond to this effect for an amount of Rs. 15 lacs (Rupees Fifteen lacs) at the time of joining the college. Students removed from service liability due to any reason will have to pay the bond money as per conditions laid down by Govt of India. Ten seats are reserved for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidates who also have similar service liability and have to fulfill the requirements of medical fitness, age, educational qualification and qualifying the entrance examination.

Eligibility: Applicants must have passed the XII standard/pre-professional/ premedical examination or equivalent examination of statutory Indian University/Board or any other recognized Board/University as a regular student in all the subjects opted for in FIRST ATTEMPT with the subjects of English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology securing not less than 60% of aggregate marks in the three science subjects taken together, not less than 50% marks in each of the science subjects and not less than 50% marks in English. They must have also passed an examination in Mathematics at least of the matriculation standard.
