Eligibility:
Minimal Qualifications for admission (PhD)
1. A Masters degree in the discipline securing not less than 55% of marks in the aggregate or MBBS/BE/B.Tech. They have to work on full time basis for a minimum period of THREE years. Two years in case of having M.Phil/DM in Neurology/M.Ch in Neurosurgery/MD/MS/DNB from a recognized University or from any other University recognized as equivalent thereto by NIMHANS. Two Years MA/M.Sc. degree in Psychology or two-year M.Phil. degree in Clinical Psychology (NIMHANS) in case of Mental Health & Social Psychology.
2. Candidates with master’s degree obtained through research and awarded on the basis of the evaluation of the thesis (from a University recognized by NIMHANS which do not award marks at the master’s level) are also eligible to apply for Ph.D. programme.
Eligibility For MD in Psychiatry:
(a) MBBS: The duration of the course will be for a period of three years.
(b) Diploma in Psychiatry (DPM): The duration of the course will be for a period of two years.
Diploma in Psychiatry (DPM): MBBS. The duration of the course will be for a period of two years.
MPhil in Mental Health & Social Psychology: Two years full time MA/M.Sc. degree in Psychology.
MPhil in Psychiatric Social Work: Masters Degree in Social Work.
MPhil in Neurophysiology: Masters Degree in Life Sciences/ MBBS degree.
MPhil in Neurosciences: Master’s degree in Physical/Life/Behavioural Sciences or BE/B.Tech or MBBS.
MPhil in Biophysics: M.Sc. in Physical Life Science/MBBS/BE Degree.
MSc in Psychiatric Nursing Course:
(a) The course is open to those who are registered Nurses with BSc/ BSc (Hons) in Nursing.
(b) Should have a minimum of two years of experience after obtaining BSc/ BSc (Hons) in Nursing degree in Hospital, Nursing Education, Institution or Community Health setting.
Diploma in Psychiatric Nursing (DPN) AND Diploma in Neurological & Neurosurgical Nursing (DNN): Should possess A Grade Certificate in General Nursing, recognized by Indian Nursing Council should be registered nurse in the State Nursing Council with two years experience.
Common for all Courses:
The qualifying degrees for all the above mentioned courses should be from a recognized University or from any other University recognized as equivalent thereto by NIMHANS. For medical qualification the degree should be recognized by the Medical Council of India.
The Candidates should have obtained not less than 55% of Marks in the aggregate of the Master’s degree for non-medical courses.
A relaxation of 5% on the aggregate of marks obtained will be given for non-medical and Ph.D. courses in respect of SC/ST candidates.
Guidelines: In respect of Non-Medical Courses, candidates who have appeared for the qualifying examinations and are awaiting results may also apply. However, such candidates will be eligible to appear for the Entrance Test, only if they produce the proof of having passed the examination in writing issued by the University as on the date of entrance test. In respect of Medical Courses, the candidates should have completed one year internship and registration with State Medical Council on or before 1st May 2007 (proof of completion from competent authority to be produced at the time of joining, failing which admission will be cancelled).

How To Apply:
1. Application forms and Prospectus can be obtained from the Director, IMHANS on request by mentioning the course and enclosing a Demand Draft of Rs.500/- (non-refundable) (Rs.400/- in case of SC/ST candidates) owards application fee drawn in favour of the Director, NIMHANS, Bangalore-560029, along with a self addressed stamped envelope (25cm x 18cm) affixing stamp worth Rs.20/-.
2. Candidates may apply for more than one course provided they are eligible.
3. Candidates applying for both MD & DPM can apply in the same application. Candidates applying for Other Courses should apply on separate application for each course.
4. Foreign Nationals are required to submit their applications through the Diplomatic Channel (through the Ministry of External Affairs). They shall also appear for the common Entrance Test along with the other candidates.
5. Sponsored candidates should submit their application through proper channel and they should also appear for the NIMHANS Common Entrance Test.
6. AGE LIMIT: For MD & DPM Courses the age should not be more than 32 years and, relaxable in case of SC/ST Candidates by a maximum of 5 years as on the date of commencement of Courses. For sponsored candidates age should not be more than 40 years as on the date of commencement of the Courses. The candidates should produce the sponsorship certificate in the prescribed format.
7. Registration Fee: For MD & DPM Rs.500/- for each course and no registration fee for Non-Medical courses.
8. Duly filled in application should be sent to the Director, NIMHANS, P.B.No.2900, Bangalore 560 029 along with a Demand Draft drawn in favour of Director, NIMHANS towards registration fee by superscribing the name of the course applied for on the Cover.
9. Applications down loaded from the Website should be accompanied by a Demand Draft of Rs.500/- (Non refundable) (Rs.400/- in case of SC/ST) towards application fee plus Registration fee indicated as above in case of MD & DPM.

In accordance with the guidelines / principles laid down in the order of the Hon7ble Supreme Court of India in T.M.A. Pai Foundation and Others Vs. State of Karnataka and Others (Writ Petition No. 317 of 1993) delivered on 31.10.2002, and thereafter in the case of Islamic Academy of Education and another versus State of Karnataka and others delivered on 14.08.2003, the Private Dental Colleges of Uttar Pradesh have formed an Association in the name of Association of Private Medical & Dental Colleges of Uttar Pradesh.
This association shall be conducting a common entrance test for admission in BDS course for the Academic Year 2007-08 for the seats to be filled by the management on merit cum choice.
The association of Private Medical & Dental Colleges of Uttar Pradesh herein after referred as 7The Association7 is duly registered with the Registrar Societies under the Societies Act, having registration No. 2329 dated 27/3/2004 and its registered office at B-17, Sector- A, Maha Nagar, Lucknow- 226002.
The said entrance test shall be conducted in the name of Uttar Pradesh Common Admission Test (UPCAT-DENTAL) for admission of candidates on management category seat in the private dental colleges of the Uttar Pradesh who are participating in this test for the ensuing academic year 2007-08.
Test Conducting Agency: The association has assigned the responsibility of conducting the test with full transperancy to AIMA-CMS, New Delhi. The complete procedure for conducting the test, evaluation of answer sheets and declaring the result will be controlled by AIMA-CMS. The Association / colleges will be provided result by AIMA-CMS for completing the subsequent procedure for admission of candidates at their colleges.

Pattern of UPCAT-Dental:
1. All candidates should appear for the Uttar Pradesh Common Admission Test (UPCAT-DENTAL). The entrance examination will comprise of an objective type examination of 180 minutes duration containing 200 questions of 200 marks. There will be 50 questions each for Physics, Chemistry, Zoology & Botany. The syllabus for entrance examination will be as per the 10+2 examination (ISCE /CBSE / U.P. Board or equivalent). The question paper will be given in English only. The candidate is required to answer 200 MCQs in 3 hours. Each question shall carry equal marks.
2. All questions will be objective type with Multiple (1,2,3,4) choice of which, only one will be the appropriate response and therefore the correct choice. Each correct answer will be awarded one mark. Zero marks shall be given to no response and incorrect answers or more than one choice indicated against a question. There will be no negative marking.

Number of entrance examination centres may be increased or decreased depending upon the total number of application to be received.
Eligibility:
AGE: Only those candidates, whose date of birth falls on or before 31st December, 1990 (atleast 17 years of age as on 31st December, 2007) are eligible to apply. Date of birth as recorded in High school / ICSE or its equivalent certificate will be taken as accepted.
Domicile: The proposed entrance examination will be of All India character and students not only from Uttar Pradesh domicile but also from any part of India as well as Foreign Nationals / Non- Resident Indians are eligible to appear in this UPCAT-Dental-2007, provided the candidate fulfill other eligibility criteria for admission in BDS courses as per the rules & regulations of DCI.
Qualification: The candidate must have passed the 10+2 examination i.e., I.S.C.E / Intermediate examination or its equivalent comprising of a curriculum of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English from the recognized Board or University. The candidate must have passed in all the above subjects and obtained a minimum of 50% in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English taken together in the qualifying examination. Candidates belonging to SC / ST / OBC category would require in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English a minimum of 40% as against the 50% for the General category candidates. The candidates who are appearing for the qualifying examination (XII) and result is not yet available are also eligible to appear in this Test but such candidates shall submit the mark sheet of the qualifying examination (XII) to the member institution at the time of being called for admission.
Admission Criteria:
The admission of the selected candidates shall be done by the Principal / Head of the respective college.
Admission into BDS courses shall be given only after the candidate produces the original of the following documents at the office of the Principal of whichever institution they are admitted into.
1. High school certificate as proof of date of birth.
2. Marksheet of Xth & XIIth examination.
3. Certificate of the Xth & XIIth examination.
4. Migration certificate
5. Character certificate from school / college last attended.
6. Acknowledgement card of the UPCAT-Dental (2006).
7. Six passport size photographs.
8. Affidavits as mentioned in the brochure.

A candidate seeking registration to the Uttar Pradesh Common Admission Test - DENTAL (UPCAT- DENTAL) is required to send his / her application on the prescribed application form only, supplied with the Information Brochure. A candidate must not fill & submit more than one form for the examination.

Karnataka Common Entrance Test (CET 2007)
Common Entrance Test or CET Karnataka is conducted for the purpose of admitting students to first year Courses in Engineering Medical (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery MBBS) Dental Courses in Bangalore , Mangalore, and other districts in Karnataka, All professional colleges (educational) within the Karnataka State which offers Medical Education, Dental Education and Engineering are affiliated to the state run Universities and recognized by the MCI, DCI and AICTE. Education that fall to the share of the Karnataka State Government. The fee Structure differs every year for Karnataka State students and other (non Karnataka) students. These in turn are split between the Karnataka State Government and the college management. The payment seats are further sub-divided into Karnataka quota and Non-Karnataka quota. (From 2005 non Karnataka students are not allowed the other way get admission is management quota)
The Common Entrance Test - 2007 will be held on only ONE day i.e., on 9th of May 2007 in three different sessions i.e., Physics & Chemistry in one paper in one session in the morning for 120 marks and 120 questions with 150 minutes duration between 10.00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.; Mathematics in one session in the afternoon for 60 marks and 60 questions with 80 minutes duration between 2.00 p.m. to 3.20 p.m. and Biology in one session in the afternoon for 60 marks and 60 questions with 80 minutes duration between 4.00 p.m. and 5.20 p.m.

The merit will be determined in accordance with the provisions in the Karnataka Selection of Candidates for Admission to Government Seats in Professional Educational Institutions Rules, 2006. A candidate should compulsorily appear for PCB subjects in case of Medical/ Dental/ Ayurveda/ Homoeopathy/ Unani/ Naturopathy & Yoga courses and PCM subjects in case of Engineering/ Technology courses in the Common Entrance Test conducted by the CET Cell. For admission to Architecture course the candidate should compulsorily appear for Nata (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) conducted by the Council of Architecture.

Academic Eligibility:
For Medical / Dental courses, the applicant should have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC / 12th std. or equivalent exam with PHYSICS, CHEMISTRY & BIOLOGY as optional subjects and with ENGLISH as one of the languages of study and have obtained at least 50% of the aggregate marks in the PCB group and should secure not less than 50% of marks taken together in PCB subjects in the Common Entrance Test. In case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes, the minimum marks for the purpose of eligibility will be 40% of the aggregate in PCB group in both qualifying examination and Common Entrance Test.
For Ayurveda / Homoeopathy / Unani / Naturopathy & Yoga courses, the applicant should have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC / 12th std. or equivalent exam with PHYSICS, CHEMISTRY & BIOLOGY as optional subjects with ENGLISH as one of the languages of study and obtained at least 50% of the aggregate marks in the PCB group, irrespective of marks obtained in the Common Entrance Test. In case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes, the minimum marks for the purpose of eligibility will be 40% of the aggregate in PCB group in the qualifying examination. For admission to Medical / Dental / Ayurveda / Homoeopathy / Unani / Naturopathy & Yoga courses, the candidate should have completed the age of 17 years as on 31st December 2007.
For Engineering and Technology courses, the applicant should have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC / 12th Std. or equivalent exam with PHYSICS & MATHEMATICS along with Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Computer Science / Electronics / Biology as optional subjects with ENGLISH as one of the languages of study and obtained at least 45% of the aggregate marks in the optional subjects, irrespective of marks obtained in the Common Entrance Test. In case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes, the minimum marks for the purpose of eligibility will be 40% of the aggregate marks in the optional subjects in the qualifying examination.
For Architecture course, the applicant should have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC / 12th Std. or equivalent exam with Mathematics as a compulsory optional subject and obtained at least 50% of marks in aggregate in all the subjects in the qualifying examination and should compulsorily appear for Nata (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) and score a minimum of 40% in Nata. In case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes, the minimum marks for the purpose of eligibility will be 45% of the aggregate marks in all subjects in the qualifying examination and 35% score in Nata.
Note:
Other Backward Classes means the reserved categories such as Category - 1, 2A, 2B, 3A & 3B for the purpose of reservation.
A candidate who had obtained a seat in any discipline through the CET Cell in any of the previous years will not be eligible to appear for the Common Entrance Test - 2007 for selection of a seat in the same discipline. Such candidate will immediately forfeit the seat selected by him during the previous years, upon selection of a seat in a different discipline during this year.
Important: The Merit list of candidates for admission to Medical and Dental courses will be determined only on the basis of marks obtained by candidates in PCB subjects taken together in the Common Entrance Test. For Ayurveda / Homoeopathy / Unani / Naturopathy & Yoga / Engineering / Technology courses, the Merit list will be determined on the basis of marks obtained in the respective optional subjects, in both qualifying examination and the Common Entrance Test taken in equal proportions. For Architecture course, the Merit list will be determined on the basis of marks obtained in both qualifying examination and NATA taken in equal proportions.

Supply of Brochure with Application Form: Brochure with application form will be supplied through the schools and colleges located within the State of Karnataka in which the candidates are studying 12th standard or 2nd PUC examination upon submission of a Demand Draft for Rs. 550/- to the Principals in advance, drawn in favour of The Special Officer, CET Cell, Bangalore payable at Bangalore and Rs. 400/- for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Category - 1. The repeater candidates and ex-students who have passed the qualifying examination within the State of Karnataka before 2007 and the Karnataka candidates residing outside Karnataka (including Horanadu, Gadinadu and other Karnataka candidates) who are studying or who have studied 12th standard or equivalent exam and appeared for examination outside the State of Karnataka, within the territory of India, can procure the brochure with application form by Speed Post, by sending a self-addressed cloth-lined envelope of size 25cm x 30cm along with a Demand Draft for Rs. 650/- drawn in favour of The Special Officer, CET Cell, Bangalore payable at Bangalore (The repeater candidates and ex-students of Karnataka who belong to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Category - 1 should send a Demand Draft for Rs. 550/- along with a copy of the caste certificate) and the Karnataka candidates residing outside India can get the brochure with application form by sending a demand draft for Rs. 3000/-. The contents on the self-addressed envelope should be in English or Kannada language only. The cover in which the demand draft and self-addressed envelope are sent should be boldly super scribed with the words Request for CET - 2007 Brochure and should be sent to the following address of the Special Officer by Speed Post ONLY. The CET Cell will not take responsibility for the envelopes sent through courier or given in person or through any other private arrangement and also for incomplete and insufficient address on the envelope. The last date for submission of Demand Drafts by Speed Post to CET Cell will be 09-02-2007. Such candidates can expect the Application form and brochure from the CET Cell by 20-02-2007

Exam Details:
Applications are invited for the 11th All India Competitive Examination for admissions to 100% seats of Masters Degree programme at IARI, IVRI, CIFE, NDRI and 25% seats at all the State Agricultural Universities, Central Universities (CAU, BHU,AMU, and VisvaBharti), and AAIDU in the, field of Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Agri. Engineering, Home Science, Social Sciences, Dairy, Fisheries, Veterinary, and Allied Sciences for the Academic Session 2006-2007 and award of ICARs Junior Research Fellowships (JRF).
The details of the Major Subject Groups and the Subject areas have been given in the Information Bulletin, the Fellowships based on merit can be availed in Agricultural Universities, ICAR Institutes based Deemed-to-be-Universities, and other institutions namely BHU, AMU, VisvaBharti, and AAIDU. There are 475 Fellowships (JRF) in 19 major subject groups which will be awarded based on merit rank of the candidate in this examination. The Fellowships at present are at the rate of Rs.8, 000/- per month for graduates of Veterinary Science and Rs.5, 760/- per month for graduates in other disciplines for a period of two years with a contingent grant of Rs.6, 000/- per annum for all. 15% seats and JRF are reserved for SC, 7.5% for S.T., and 3% for Physically Handicapped (RH.) candidates. Two percent seats are also reserved for the candidates from under-privileged states (UPS) not having any Agricultural/ Veterinary University, There is no reservation of JRF for candidates of UPS category. They would be entitled for JRF based on overall merit. There will not be any direct nomination for admissions. The admission as well as JRF will be given only to those candidates who join the Masters Degree Programme in a University/ Institute other than from where he/ she has obtained Bachelors Degree except NDRI, Karnal for the Academic Session commencing 2006 only,
Date and Venue of the Examination: Examination will be held on 21 May, 2006 (Sunday) from 10.00 A.M. to 12.30 P.M. at 27 different Examination Centres all over the country as specified in the Information Bulletin. In no case, even of JRF, claims for reimbursement of travel expenses or cost/loss of any kind incurred by the candidate or the guardian for attending the Examination, Counseling, and reporting for admission will be entertained. The ICAR/Universities will not reimburse such claims/costs.

Candidates having passed their Bachelors Degree (or appearing in final year examination during the year 2006), in the field of Agriculture, Veterinary, Agricultural Engineering, Fisheries, Horticulture, Home Science, Sericulture, Dairy Technology, Dairy Engineering, Forestry, Agri. Marketing Banking and Cooperation, Food Science & Technology, Biotechnology, Process & Food Engineering, Computer Science, Basic, and Allied Sciences under 10+2+4 (most seats) or 10+2+3 (only few seats) are eligible to apply for the combined examination for JRF and admission to Masters Degree Programme as per norms of participating Universities. Candidates must have obtained OGPA 6.60/10.00 or 3.25/ 5.00 or 2.6/ 4.00 for general & UPS categories and 5.50/10.00 or 2.75/ 5.00 or 2.20/4.00 for SC, ST and Physically handicapped categories.
For admission in the subject of Veterinary Sciences, candidates must have completed B.V.Sc. & A.H. with Internship before the date of registration in the University or December 31, 2006 which so ever is earlier. He/she should be an Indian National and should be completing minimum 19 year of age as on 31st August 2006.
The candidate appearing in the Bachelors Degree Examination in the year 2006 are also eligible–to apply provisionally, but they will have to submit Certificate/ Provisional Marks Sheet signed by the Registrar of the University of their having completed the degree in all respects on the date of Counseling. Non-submission of documentary evidence for having completed the Degree at the time of Counseling will disqualify the candidate.
Most of the participating Universities/ Institutes in this Examination require four years U.G. degree. In few Universities/ Institutes, graduates from non-agricultural stream are also eligible for admission to Masters Degree Programme only in some of the specified subjects. For such candidates, if admitted, the duration of Masters Degree Programme would be of 3 years at IARI and some other Universities as the 1st year will be for completing remedial courses in Agriculture and no fellowship would be paid during the first year to such candidates. For admission, the candidate has to fulfill the eligibility criteria of the admitting University even if he/ she may have been called for counseling.

Exam Details:
National Institutes of Technology (NITs) are premier Technical Institutions of National repute with Deemed University status and fully funded by Govt. of India. The Curricula and Syllabi of Master of Computer Applications (MCA) course offered by NITs is designed considering the need of different Software Houses in India and abroad and has a high job potential in IT Sector in India and abroad. The NIMCET is a National Level Entrance Test conducted by NITs for admission to the MCA course offered by NITs. The admission to MCA programme for the year 2007-08 in all the NITs, offered MCA Course, will be based on the Rank obtained in NIMCET-07 Only.
NIMCET (NIT MCA Common Entrance Test) is of two and a half hours and consists of multiple choice questions with four choices for each question.
Each correctly answered question carries 4 marks and each wrongly answered question invites 1 negative mark.
The question paper will cover the following topics over 120 questions distributed thus:
? Mathematics - 40 questions: Covering Set Theory, Probability and Statistics, Algebra (from fundamental operations to arithmetic, geometric and harmonic progressions, determinants and matrices), Coordinate Geometry, Calculus (differential and integral), Vectors (and their applications to simple geometrical problems and mechanics) and Trigonometry (inpluding general solutions of trigonometric equations).
? Analytical Ability and Logical Reasoning - 50 questions covering logical reasoning and quantitative aptitude. Some questions will be on comprehension of a logical situation and questions based on the facts given in the passage.
? Computer Awareness - 15 questions would assess knowledge of Computer Basics, Data Representation including Binary Arithmetic, Boolean Algebra, truth tables and Venn diagrams.
? General English - 15 questions could be on Comprehension, Vocabulary, Basic English Grammar (like usage of correct forms of verbs, prepositions and articles), Word power, Synonyms and Antonyms, Meanings of words and phrases and assessment of Technical writing skills.
Mode of Examination: The NIMCET-07 examination will be for a duration of two and a half hours and consists of 120 multiple choice questions with four choices for each question. Each correctly answered question carries FOUR marks and each wrongly answered question invites NEGATIVE ONE mark. The candidates have to mark the responses in the OMR sheets supplied at the time of examination. Candidates have to bring their own HB pencil, eraser and ball point pen. Calculators, mobile phones or any other materials will not be allowed in the examination hall.

Eligibility:
Candidates, with 60% marks (6.5/10 CGPA) in Bachelors degree of Full Time 3 years duration from a recognized University with Mathematics / Statistics / Bus. Maths. as one of the subjects in any one semester/year, both in graduation and at 10+2 level are eligible. For SC/ST candidates the percentage of marks required is 55%(6.0/10 CGPA). Those candidates who are appearing for the qualifying examinations in 2007 are also eligible to appear for the test. However, they will have to furnish proof of having passed in the qualifying examination, with 60% marks, at the time of counselling / admission. Indian Nationals only are eligible to appear for the NIMCET-07
How To Apply:
NIMCET-07 application is a comprehensive application form for the Entrance Examination and for admission to MCA at any of the NITs offering MCA programme. Candidates need not apply to each NITs separately for admission. The admission to MCA programme in all the 9 participating NITs will be through a Single Window Centralized Counseling/Seat Allotment at respective NITs based on NIMCET-07 Rank as well as their choices mentioned in the Application Form, tentatively in JUNE/JULY 2007. Exact details in this regard will be intimated in due course to all eligible candidates for Counseling. Note that there is no inter NIT transfer of candidates after being admitted into any of the NITs. Candidates once allotted a seat in any particular NIT will have to take admission at that NIT Only.
The general eligibility to write NIMCET is the same for all NITs. Admission criteria and fees structure may differ in some NITs. Please contact the individual NITs for their admission eligibility, if any and other details.
The application form for NIMCET- 07 can be downloaded from www.nitdgp.ac.in or any of the web sites mentioned above.
Complete filled in Application Form along with the required fee in the form of Demand Draft and 10+2+3 (Graduation) Marks Sheet/Certificate, is to be sent by Post or Courier to The Convenor, NIMCET- 07, Academic Section, National Institute of Technology Durgapur, NIT Campus, Post-713209, WEST BENGAL so as to reach on or before 23.03.2007. Application received after the due date (due to postal delay or any other reasons) will not be considered.
The Application Fee for the Entrance Examination of the MCA programme is Rs. 700/- for OPEN and 350/- for SC/ST candidates. Candidates will have to take Demand draft for the above amount drawn in favour of The Convenor, NIMCET-07, payable at State Bank of India, R E College (code 2108) or any other nationalized bank payable at Durgapur. Candidates are advised to write their name and address on the reverse side of the Demand Draft.
