Exam Details:
All India Entrance Examination for Admission to MBBS/ BDS Course, 2007 under 15% merit positions in Medical/ Dental colleges.

Applications are invited in the prescribed form for All India Pre-Medical / Pre-Dental Entrance Examination (AIPMT) 2007 to be conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Delhi as per the following schedule for admission to 15% of the total seats for Medical/Dental Courses in all Medical/Dental colleges run by the Union of India, State Governments, Municipal or other local authorities in India except in the States of Andhra Pradesh And Jammu & Kashmir:-

1. Preliminary Examination - 1st April, 2007 (Sunday)
2. Final Examination - 13th May , 2007 (Sunday)

AIPMT Nature of exam:
Preliminary: Phys & Chem (100) Bot & Zoo (100) [Objective] Time: 3Hrs.
Negative Marking: 1/3, MM 600

Final Exam: Phys & Chem (2 hrs.) MM 100, Bot & Zoo (2 hrs.) MM 100 [non- objective]

AIPMT Syllabus: The exam includes all the syllabus upto 12th Std (Physics, Chemistry, Biology). The syllabus is common to both Preliminary and final exam.

Eligibility:
Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply.

He/She has completed 17 years at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before 31st December of the year of his/her admission. Candidates born on or after 02-01-1991 are not eligible.

The upper age limit for All India Pre-Medical Entrance Examination is 25 years as on 31st December of the year of the entrance examination. Further provided that this upper age limit shall be relaxed by a period of 5 (five) years for the candidates of Scheduled Castes/Schedule Tribes/Other Backward Classes

The number of attempts which a candidate can avail at All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Examination shall be limited to 3 (three) uniformly for all the candidates.

One Time Exception: Candidates who have already attained the age of 25 years and or availed three attempts or more will be permitted to appear in All India Pre-Medical / Pre-Dental Entrance Examination, 2007 as a last chance.

The candidate must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology at the qualifying examination. In respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes or Other Backward Classes the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in qualifying examination be 40% instead of 50% for General Candidates. Those who are taking plus two examination in 2007 can also appear for the entrance test provisionally subject to their fulfilling the conditions later.

The AIPMT Information Bulletin and Application Form costing Rs.400/- for General Category candidates and Rs.200/- for SC/ST candidates inclusive of examination fee can be obtained against Cash Payment from any of the following branches of Canara Bank/ Regional Offices of the CBSE between 09-10-2006 to 18-11-2006. Tamil Nadu Professional Courses Entrance Examinations (TNPCEE) 2007 will be conducted by Anna University on behalf of the Government of Tamil Nadu on 18th and 19th May, 2007 as noted below for candidates who seek admission to all Professional Courses in Tamil Nadu, during 2007 offered by Government, Government Aided Institutions under the control of:

(1) Anna University
(2) Directorate of Technical Education
(3) Directorate of Medical Education,
(4) Directorate of Indian Medicine and Homoeopathy
(5) Tamil Nadu Agricultural University
(7) Tamil Nadu Veterinary & Animal Sciences University,
(7) Bharathidasan Institute of Technology in Bharathidhasan University and
(8) Seats voluntarily surrendered by the management of affiliated self-financing colleges in Tamil Nadu, which have opted to admit students based on TNPCEE 2007.

Those who have already passed HSC or equivalent qualifying examination and those who have appeared for such qualifying examination during March 2007 can apply for these entrance examinations.

The details of courses offered in Engineering, Medicine, Agriculture, Veterinary and Animal Sciences by the admitting authorities are given in the “Information Booklet” available in the Anna University and printed copies of information booklets are also available for Rs 10/- (by cash) at all online registration centres. The required eligibility conditions and other details will be available in the admission application forms issued by the respective admitting authorities at a later date.

Eligibility:
All the candidates seeking admission to the above mentioned professional courses should

(i) Appear for TNPCEE 2007 and

(ii) Apply to the respective admitting authorities for admission when called for.

Important note: Entrance examinations will be conducted, based only on the syllabi prescribed for the second year of the Tamil Nadu State Board of Higher Secondary Courses in the concerned subject.

These entrance examinations are applicable to candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu and those who satisfy the nativity/ domicile requirements specified for admission to the professional courses by the respective admitting authorities and Other state candidates who seek, admission for BE/ BTech courses:

a) In the constituent institutions of Anna University against the seats reserved for other state candidate and

b) Under Management Quota in self financing engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu which have opted to admit students based on TNPCEE 2007 should also appear for TNPCEE 2007.

How To Apply:
Procedure for Registration of Application for TNPCEE 2007. Candidates desirous of appearing for the entrance examinations have to register their applications through one of the following three modes:

Through Online Registration
Postal (by applying in the prescribed format)
Internet

Note: Online registration centre in an examination city/ zone is for registering candidates who desire to write the examinations in that examination city/ zone only. However, candidates who prefer to write the examinations in any other examination city/zone has to apply by postal/ internet mode. In respect of zones, candidates will be altotted any one of the colleges coming under that zone only. Candidate can register for any of the zones of Chennai City at the Centre for Entrance Examinations, Anna University.

1. Through Online Registration Centres: The entire process of filing applications by candidates and issue of hall tickets immediately will be done through the identified online application registration centres. The procedure to be followed by the candidate for online registration is:

a. Get a passport size photograph

b. Get a Photocopy of HSC Hall Ticket (or) any proof for name verification

c. A DD towards examination fee.

d. Go to the online application registration centre in the city or zones in the city where the candidate desires to write the examinations

e. Fill up the application form available at the registration centres or in the information booklet and submit It at the online registration centre

f. Your photograph will be taken using digital camera,

g. Your application details will be entered in the computer

h. The Hall Ticket will be printed and given to you at the same centre. The addresses of the online application registration centres are given above. In case the candidate is unable to appear in person for online registration, any person authorised by the candidate can submit all the items mentioned above along with filled application form, with signatures of the candidate (columns provided in the application) and affixing two recently taken passport size photographs of the candidate on the space provided in the application form (one photo should be attested) and submit it to the online registration centre for getting the hall ticket.

2. Application by Post: Candidates who desires to apply through postal mode, have to fill in the application format (For format download Application Form) affix two recent passport size photographs in the space provided (one should be attested) and Signature at the appropriate space. The completed application should be sent to Anna University along with the Demand Draft and a self addressed, stamped (Rs.5/-) envelope (of size 11 cm X 27 cm) for sending the hall ticket by post. For receiving the hall ticket by speed post affix required stamps. Postal Applications duly filled by the candidate should reach The Secretary, TNPCEE 2007, Anna University, Chennai - 700 025 on or before 2.5.2007. Write the name of the examination city where the candidate desires to write the examinations and HSC registration number and year on the top left comer of the postal cover. Other State candidates, should also write “Other State’ on the left top corner of the postal cover.

3. Internet: Candidates residing outside of Tamil Nadu (or) those who could not reach the online registration centre the application form can be had from the link below. The form can be printed after filling the required details, and then the procedure for postal mode is to be followed.

The Tamil Nadu SC/ST candidates desirous of obtaining the fee concession, should produce a certificate obtained from the head of the institution last studied (or) copy of SC/ ST Community Certificate (or) copy of the Transfer Certificate of the candidate to the effect that the candidate belongs to SC/ST Community.

Demand Draft for the required amount should be drawn in favour of The Director, Entrance Examinations, Anna University, payable at Chennai obtained from any Nationalised/ Scheduled bank on or after 7th April 2007. The candidate is instructed to write his/her name, +2 Registration Number and address on the reverse of the Demand Draft.

Unused previous year question books, (Biology, Physical Sciences & Mathematics) subject to availability, can be had in person from the Centre for Entrance Examinations, Anna University on payment of Rs. 10/-per book by cash and by post from the Secretary, TNPCEE, Anna University, Chennai - 700 025 through Demand Draft for the amount (in addition to the cost of the book, the postal charges of Rs. 30/- upto 3 books should be added) in favour of the Director, Entrance Examinations, Anna University payable at Chennai with a requisition letter and a self addressed slip. Filled applications received by post after the stipulated date will not be considered.

1. Nationality and Age: The candidate shall be an Indian National and shall have completed 17 years of age on or before 31st December 2005

2. Karnataka Common Entrance Test (CET 2007)
Common Entrance Test or CET Karnataka is conducted for the purpose of admitting students to first year Courses in Engineering Medical (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery MBBS) Dental Courses in Bangalore , Mangalore, and other districts in Karnataka, All professional colleges (educational) within the Karnataka State which offers Medical Education, Dental Education and Engineering are affiliated to the state run Universities and recognized by the MCI, DCI and AICTE. Education that fall to the share of the Karnataka State Government. The fee Structure differs every year for Karnataka State students and other (non Karnataka) students. These in turn are split between the Karnataka State Government and the college management. The payment seats are further sub-divided into Karnataka quota and Non-Karnataka quota. (From 2005 non Karnataka students are not allowed the other way get admission is management quota)

The Common Entrance Test - 2007 will be held on only ONE day i.e., on 9th of May 2007 in three different sessions i.e., Physics & Chemistry in one paper in one session in the morning for 120 marks and 120 questions with 150 minutes duration between 10.00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.; Mathematics in one session in the afternoon for 60 marks and 60 questions with 80 minutes duration between 2.00 p.m. to 3.20 p.m. and Biology in one session in the afternoon for 60 marks and 60 questions with 80 minutes duration between 4.00 p.m. and 5.20 p.m.

CET Karnataka 2007 Exam
Applications are invited from eligible candidates from Karnataka including the wards of Jammu & Kashmiri migrants for registration for the Common Entrance Test 2007 for admission to first year Medical / Dental/ Ayurveda/ Homoeopathy/ Unani/ Naturopathy & Yoga/ Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture courses for the seats to be notified by the Government in the professional educational institutions in the State of Karnataka for the academic year 2007-2008.

All medical and dental colleges in karnataka are affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University Bangalore except Kasturba Medical College, Manipal and all engineering colleges in karnataka to Visveswaraiah Technological University, Belgaum

The merit will be determined in accordance with the provisions in the Karnataka Selection of Candidates for Admission to Government Seats in Professional Educational Institutions Rules, 2006. A candidate should compulsorily appear for PCB subjects in case of Medical/ Dental/ Ayurveda/ Homoeopathy/ Unani/ Naturopathy & Yoga courses and PCM subjects in case of Engineering/ Technology courses in the Common Entrance Test conducted by the CET Cell. For admission to Architecture course the candidate should compulsorily appear for Nata (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) conducted by the Council of Architecture.

National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA - 2007)

Eligibility:

Academic Eligibility:
For Medical / Dental courses, the applicant should have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC / 12th std. or equivalent exam with PHYSICS, CHEMISTRY & BIOLOGY as optional subjects and with ENGLISH as one of the languages of study and have obtained at least 50% of the aggregate marks in the PCB group and should secure not less than 50% of marks taken together in PCB subjects in the Common Entrance Test. In case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes, the minimum marks for the purpose of eligibility will be 40% of the aggregate in PCB group in both qualifying examination and Common Entrance Test.

For Ayurveda / Homoeopathy / Unani / Naturopathy & Yoga courses, the applicant should have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC / 12th std. or equivalent exam with PHYSICS, CHEMISTRY & BIOLOGY as optional subjects with ENGLISH as one of the languages of study and obtained at least 50% of the aggregate marks in the PCB group, irrespective of marks obtained in the Common Entrance Test. In case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes, the minimum marks for the purpose of eligibility will be 40% of the aggregate in PCB group in the qualifying examination. For admission to Medical / Dental / Ayurveda / Homoeopathy / Unani / Naturopathy & Yoga courses, the candidate should have completed the age of 17 years as on 31st December 2007.

For Engineering and Technology courses, the applicant should have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC / 12th Std. or equivalent exam with PHYSICS & MATHEMATICS along with Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Computer Science / Electronics / Biology as optional subjects with ENGLISH as one of the languages of study and obtained at least 45% of the aggregate marks in the optional subjects, irrespective of marks obtained in the Common Entrance Test. In case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes, the minimum marks for the purpose of eligibility will be 40% of the aggregate marks in the optional subjects in the qualifying examination.

For Architecture course, the applicant should have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC / 12th Std. or equivalent exam with Mathematics as a compulsory optional subject and obtained at least 50% of marks in aggregate in all the subjects in the qualifying examination and should compulsorily appear for Nata (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) and score a minimum of 40% in Nata. In case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes, the minimum marks for the purpose of eligibility will be 45% of the aggregate marks in all subjects in the qualifying examination and 35% score in Nata.

Note:
Other Backward Classes means the reserved categories such as Category - 1, 2A, 2B, 3A & 3B for the purpose of reservation.

A candidate who had obtained a seat in any discipline through the CET Cell in any of the previous years will not be eligible to appear for the Common Entrance Test - 2007 for selection of a seat in the same discipline. Such candidate will immediately forfeit the seat selected by him during the previous years, upon selection of a seat in a different discipline during this year.

Important: The Merit list of candidates for admission to Medical and Dental courses will be determined only on the basis of marks obtained by candidates in PCB subjects taken together in the Common Entrance Test. For Ayurveda / Homoeopathy / Unani / Naturopathy & Yoga / Engineering / Technology courses, the Merit list will be determined on the basis of marks obtained in the respective optional subjects, in both qualifying examination and the Common Entrance Test taken in equal proportions. For Architecture course, the Merit list will be determined on the basis of marks obtained in both qualifying examination and NATA taken in equal proportions.

How To Apply:
Supply of Brochure with Application Form: Brochure with application form will be supplied through the schools and colleges located within the State of Karnataka in which the candidates are studying 12th standard or 2nd PUC examination upon submission of a Demand Draft for Rs. 550/- to the Principals in advance, drawn in favour of The Special Officer, CET Cell, Bangalore payable at Bangalore and Rs. 400/- for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Category - 1. The last date for submission of Demand Draft to the Principals of Schools and Colleges within Karnataka will be 07-02-2007. Application forms and brochures are expected to reach the respective schools and colleges by 20-02-2007.

The repeater candidates and ex-students who have passed the qualifying examination within the State of Karnataka before 2007 and the Karnataka candidates residing outside Karnataka (including Horanadu, Gadinadu and other Karnataka candidates) who are studying or who have studied 12th standard or equivalent exam and appeared for examination outside the State of Karnataka, within the territory of India, can procure the brochure with application form by Speed Post, by sending a self-addressed cloth-lined envelope of size 25cm x 30cm along with a Demand Draft for Rs. 650/- drawn in favour of The Special Officer, CET Cell, Bangalore payable at Bangalore (The repeater candidates and ex-students of Karnataka who belong to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Category - 1 should send a Demand Draft for Rs. 550/- along with a copy of the caste certificate) and the Karnataka candidates residing outside India can get the brochure with application form by sending a demand draft for Rs. 3000/-. The contents on the self-addressed envelope should be in English or Kannada language only. The cover in which the demand draft and self-addressed envelope are sent should be boldly super scribed with the words Request for CET - 2007 Brochure and should be sent to the following address of the Special Officer by Speed Post ONLY. The CET Cell will not take responsibility for the envelopes sent through courier or given in person or through any other private arrangement and also for incomplete and insufficient address on the envelope. The last date for submission of Demand Drafts by Speed Post to CET Cell will be 09-02-2007. Such candidates can expect the Application form and brochure from the CET Cell by 20-02-2007
