Exam Details: All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has invited application for admission to MBBS Course commencing on 1st August 2006. Entrance examination will be held on 1st June 2006 (Wednesday). Application Forms, complete in all respects, must reach AIIMS, New Delhi latest by 5.00 P.M. on 24th Feb 2006

Eligibility:
(I) Candidates who have passed 12th class examination under 10+2 system or an equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English securing a minimum of 60% marks (50% marks in case of Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe candidates) in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English or whose results of Class XII are likely to be declared by mid July 2006 are eligible to apply.

(II) The candidate should have attained the age of 17 (Seventeen) years as on 31st December, 2006.

(II) By Post: The prospectus-cum-application form can also be obtained by Speed Post/ Registered Post by sending a written test with an account payee bank draft of Rs.550/- (Rs.450/- for SC/ST candidates) payable to the Director, AIIMS, New Delhi. The bank draft issued by State Bank of India should be drawn on State Bank of India, Service Branch (CODE No.7687) New Delhi and should be valid upto July/August 2006. The request must reach the Assistant Controller of examinations, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Ansari Nagar, New Delhi 110029 on or before 17th Feb 2006. Money order/Cheque/Postal Order/ Cash or any other form of payment will NOT be accepted for postal sale. The words REQUEST FOR APPLICATION FORM FOR MBBS ENTRANCE EXAMINATION 2006 should be written on the envelope containing request for application form, and also on top of the request letter. Consortium of Medical Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK) Post Graduate Entrance Test 2007 (COMEDK PGET-2007)

The Karnataka Private Medical & Dental Colleges Association, in their endeavour to offer an effective, fair and objective testing procedure to determine merit of students wanting to seek admissions to the Member Institutions, have formed Consortium of Medical Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka COMEDK.

The Consortium of Medical Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK) has been assigned the task of organising a common entrance test for the academic year 2007-2008, for candidates aspiring to pursue Post Graduate Courses in Medical and Dental studies in the state of Karnataka, in colleges run by Private Medical and Dental Colleges who are Member Institutions of the consortium.

COMEDK Post Graduate Entrance Test-2007 (COMEDK PGET-2007) COMEDK will conduct a separate entrance test for Medical and a separate entrance test for Dental Post Graduate courses called COMEDK PGET-2007, for candidates seeking admission to Post Graduate courses in Medical and Dental studies. The entrance test is being conducted for use by COMEDK Member Institutions only. The COMEDK entrance test is mandatory for candidates seeking admissions for the Post Graduate courses in Member Institutions. The COMEDK PGET-2007 test scores are valid only for admissions during the academic year 2007-2008.

The COMEDK PGET-2007 will be conducted only at centres in Bangalore on Sunday the 11th February 2007

About Member Institutions: Twenty-eight unaided, private Medical and Dental colleges affiliated to COMEDK, across the State of Karnataka, offer various courses in Medical and Dental studies at Post Graduate level. Claims made by candidates as belonging to Karnataka origin or Religious or Linguistic minority status etc is not verified while sending TAT for COMEDK-PGET 2007. However, if such a candidate qualifies for attending centralised counseling, it will be his/her responsibility to furnish original documents issued by competent authorities to the satisfaction of COMEDK authorities, failing which such a candidate will be considered only under All India General Merit.

Inter-change of category status will not be entertained during the course of PGET process (i.e. students appearing under General Merit category will be considered for eligibility in that category only).

Test Scheme: There will be one test for PG Medical and one test for PG Dental Courses. Each test will have 180 multiple-choice questions (MCQ).

The time allotted for the test would be 180 minutes. The test will begin at 10:00am and end at 1:00pm

Candidates are required to mark their answers in an OMR (Optical Mark Reader) Answer Sheet.

Each correct answer is awarded one mark.

There will be no Negative Marking.

No Mark/s will be awarded for multiple marking (marking multiple responses) of any question.

Eligibility:
Degree / Diploma Programs: Applicants must meet all requirements stipulated by MCI / DCI. Accordingly, they should have successfully passed their MBBS/ BDS from an institution recognised by MCI/DCI, and must have completed or completing their internship by 30/04/07.

MCI / DCI Norms: Every student, selected for admission to the Post Graduate medical / dental course in any of the medical/ dental institutions in the country, shall possess recognized MBBS/ BDS degree or equivalent qualification and should have obtained permanent registration with the Medical Council of India/ Dental Council of India, or any of the State Medical/ Dental Council or should obtain the same with in one month from the date of admission, failing which the admission of the candidate shall be cancelled.

Provided that in the case of a foreign national, the Medical Council of India / Dental Council of India may, on payment of the prescribed fee for the registration, grant temporary registration for the duration of the Post Graduate training restricted to the college / institution to which the applicant is admitted for the time being exclusively for Post Graduate studies; Provided further, that temporary registration to such foreign national shall be subjected to the condition that such person is duly registered as medical practitioner in his own country from which the applicant has obtained his / her basic medical / dental qualification and that his / her degree is recognized by the corresponding Council or concerned authority.

As per the Post Graduate Regulation 2000 of Medical Council of India, the minimum percentage of marks in the entrance test (COMEDK PGET-2007) for eligibility for admission to Post Graduate Courses shall be 50 percent for general category candidates and 40 percent for the candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes (As declared by State Government of Karnataka from time to time).

As specified by the Dental Council of India, the minimum percentage of marks in the entrance test (COMEDK PGET-2007) for admission to Post Graduate Dental courses shall be 50% for all the candidates (Reference: DCI. Letter No. DE 14-2004/1135 dated 05 May 2004).

Rank list / Card will be prepared only for those students who are eligible for admission to Post Graduate Courses as per the Medical Council of India or Dental Council of India Regulations.

The process involves the following stages:

The Application form is said to be complete only if it is enclosed with all the documents mentioned below and posted to COMEDK office.

Test Admission Tickets and Related Information

Candidates appearing for COMEDK PGET-2007 will be issued a Test Admission Ticket (TAT) for identification. Candidates are required to bring the TAT and the original declaration form duly attested by the Head of the Institution where he/she has studied last, as submitted along with the application form. This is mandatory.

The TATs would contain the PGET-2007 test centre assigned to the candidate. The candidates are assigned a test centre during the application processing, and no requests for change in centre would be considered.

The TATs would be dispatched to the candidates at the address they mention in their application form, by 02/01/2007.

Change of address, if any, during the process of COMEDK PGET-2007 must be intimated through registered post / certified dispatch to COMEDK office; the responsibility for the same rests solely with the applicants, and COMEDK, is not responsible for the same. Result: All India Engineering / Architecture Entrance Examination (AIEEE – 2007)

In compliance of the directive of the Govt. of India, Deptt. of Secondary and Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development, the CBSE will conducting the Sixth All India Engineering/Architecture Entrance Examination (AIEEE) for admission to degree level courses in Engineering and Architecture in National Institutes of Technology, Indian Institutes of Information Technology, Deemed Universities and Institutions in the Centre/ States/ UTs other than those covered by Joint Entrance Examination/State Level Entrance Examination for paid or unpaid seats based on the score. Tentative list of participating institutions will be contained in the Information Bulletin for AIEEE 2007.

AIEEE 2007 Examination Pattern: Entrance examination would consist of two papers i.e. 1st paper consisting of three parts of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics of equal weightage with objective type questions for BE/B.Tech courses and 2nd paper consisting of Mathematics and Aptitude Test for B. Architecture and B. Planning. The Aptitude Test is designed to evaluate candidates perception, imagination, observation, creativity and architectural awareness.

Scoring and Negative Marking of AIEEE 2007: There will be objective type questions with four options having single correct answer. For each incorrect response one third of the total marks allotted to the question would be deducted. No deduction from the total score will, however, be made if no response is indicated for an item in the answer sheet. The candidates are advised not to attempt such item in the answer sheet if they are not sure of the correct response. More than one answer indicated against a question will be deemed as incorrect response and will be negatively marked. All objective type questions are required to be answered on specially designed machine gradable answer sheets. Answers are to be marked using ball point pen (black/blue) only.

Examination Centres: List of cities where the examination will be conducted is given in Appendix VI. Candidates are required to give three options convenient to them. While every effort will be made to allot a Centre in one of the places opted by the candidate, the Board reserves its discretion to allot a Centre other than that of candidates choice any where in India. Under no circumstances, the Centre once allotted shall be changed by the Board.

For those unable to appear in AIEEE on scheduled date of examination for any reason, no re-examination shall be held under any circumstances. The schedule will remain unaltered even if the date is declared as a public holiday. Students may move to the venue of examination if they have applied for B. Arch/B. Planning.

Language of the Question Papers: Candidates can opt for question papers either in English or in Hindi. The option has to be exercised while filling Application Form. It cannot be changed later.

Eligibility:
Candidates are, however, required to appear in the papers as per Scheme of Examination for AIEEE specified in para 2.4 of this Bulletin.

The minimum academic qualification for admission through AIEEE is a pass in the final examination of 10+2 (Class XII) or its equivalent referred to as the qualifying examination (see Appendix VIII). Those appearing in 10+2 (Class XII) final or equivalent examination may also appear in AIEEE for consideration of provisional admission.

Date of Birth: Only those candidates whose date of birth falls on or after October 01, 1982 are eligible. However, in the case of Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Physically Handicapped (PH) candidates, upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years, i.e. SC, ST and PH candidates who were born on or after October 01, 1977 are eligible. Date of birth as recorded in the Secondary Education Board/University certificate only will be taken as authentic.

How To Apply:
1. Candidates can apply for AIEEE 2007 either on the prescribed Application Form or make application Online.

2. For submission of application on prescribed form: Information Bulletin containing Application Form can be had by post from the CBSE or personally from Regional Offices of CBSE, Designated Institutions and the Designated Branches of Syndicate Bank and other Banks specified in Appendix IV.

Candidates must keep a photocopy of the Application Form for use as reference for future correspondence.

Online submission of application with photograph and signature on Computer Printed Form generated and down loaded from the website www.aieee.nic.in and to be sent by Registered/Speed Post (NOT BY COURIER) to CBSE and payment made by Demand Draft in favour of the Secretary, CBSE, payable at Delhi.

Candidates submitting applications online are required: to mention his/her Registration No., Name and Address on the back of the Pay Order/Demand Draft to retain a photocopy of computer printed Form to serve as reference for future correspondence, and to retain a photo copy of the Bank Draft sent.

Information regarding receipt of applications in the AIEEE Unit of the CBSE will be put on the website www.aieee.nic.in. The candidates can check the receipt of their Application Number on the website after 45 days of dispatch of Application to the CBSE. Candidates whose particulars do not appear on the website may write to the AIEEE Unit, and forward a photocopy of the Application Form, the Demand Draft and two passport size photographs (as pasted on the Application Form).

In case the Admit Card is not received by 10th April, 2007, the candidates should write/contact the CBSE between 11th April, 2007 to 20th April, 2007 giving details of the Post Office, date of dispatch, original receipt of postal dispatch, photostat copy of the Application Form, two photographs (as pasted on the Application Form one is duly attested as mentioned in para 2 above), and proof regarding remittance of fee who have submitted application Online

Candidate must preserve the Admit Card till the admission process is over. Request for issue of duplicate Admit Card will not be entertained after the examination.

Admit Card, Card Board and Ball Point Pen of good quality. For Aptitude Test in Architecture, the candidates are advised to bring their own card Board, geometry box set, pencils, erasers and colour pencils or crayons.

11. Rough work

All rough work is to be done in the Test Booklet only. The candidate should NOT do any rough work or put stray mark on the Answer Sheet

Procedure for Conduct of Examination and Use of Answer Sheet: Procedure for conduct of examination and instructions for use of the Test Booklet and Answer Sheet are given in Appendix VII. Candidates are advised to go through carefully before going for the Examination.

Evaluation and Declaration of Results: On the basis of performance in AIEEE, separate rank lists will be prepared for BE/ BTech and BArch/ BPlanning. Score Card indicating All India Rank with total marks and marks in each subject shall be sent to all candidates appearing in AIEEE.

Candidates scoring above a certain cut off percentage of marks (being different for General and SC/ST/PH category candidates) to be called for counselling shall be determined at the time of declaration of AIEEE results. Cut off percentage of marks for OBC shall be determined as and when govenment orders are issued for the same.All India Rank and marks shall also be released on AIEEE website. The results of AIEEE 2007 are likely to be declared on or before 31st May, 2007.

The score card will be dispatched to the candidates from 11.06.2007 to 25.06.2007. In case of non-receipt of the score card within the stipulated period candidate may apply for duplicate score card on payment of Rs. 50/- (plus postal charges of Rs. 30/- for outstation candidates) in the form of Demand Draft in favour of Secretary, CBSE, payable at Delhi between 03.07.2007 to 31.08.2007. No request for issue of duplicate score card will be entertained thereafter.

As per the notified cut off score and the candidates declared eligible up to the notified Rank shall be called to appear for counselling.

In case of two or more candidates obtaining equal marks, inter-se merit of such candidates shall be determined as follows:

BE/ BTech – By marks obtained in Mathematics and then in Physics in the AIEEE and then by age (preference to older candidates).

BArch/ BPlanning – By marks obtained in Aptitude Test and then in Mathematics in the AIEEE and then by age (preference to older candidates).

Counselling, Seat Allocation, Document Verification and Admissions: Final list of institutions admitting students (with intake in each discipline and category as per reservation) through AIEEE-2007, including counselling procedure, counselling schedule and counselling centres would be contained in the Information Brochure for Counselling and it shall also be released on AIEEE website in May 2007.
