Research for M.Phil / Ph.D degree can be carried out on full-time or part-time basis.
Eligibility:
Ph.D. programme
The candidate should possess a postgraduate degree of the concerned / related subject of any recognised University, with at least a second class with a minimum of 55% of marks. Candidates should have passed the qualifying examination by the day the admissions are closed. For SC / ST candidates, the minimum qualifying marks will be less by 5%.

M.Phil degree of any recognised University in the subject concerned with at least a second class with a minimum of 55% of marks in the postgraduate degree. However, for full-time or part-time research in Womens Studies, a candidate with a P.G. degree in any discipline is eligible.
If seeking part-time registration, the candidate should be a member of the staff of any academic / research / professional / technical / relevant institution. The candidate should have a minimum work experience of two years in her institution. The candidate should possess a postgraduate degree, with at least a second class with a minimum of 55% of marks, excepting those who obtained their degrees prior to 1980, for whom the minimum shall be 50%. for SC / ST candidates, the minimum qualifying marks will be less by 5%. for Ph.D. programme in Law
a) An advocate seeking admission into part-time Ph.D. should have passed M.L/LL.M. with 55% on the aggregate.
b) Candidate should have Bar experience of a minimum of three years and produce a Certificate of enrolment issued by Bar Council of any state and certificate from local Bar in which the candidate is practicing.
c) Candidate should also have the experience of teaching either part-time or otherwise in any of the affiliated law colleges or departments at least for a period of two years.
M.Phil. programme

The application form and the details can be downloaded from SPMVV Website www.padmavatiwomen-univ.org. Application forms can also be obtained by post (Rs.35/- self addressed stamped envelope to be enclosed) from the Controller of Examinations. Filled in application forms with a cross demand draft for Rs.450/-, (Rs.350/- for SC/ ST Candidates), drawn in favour of the Registrar, SPMVV should reach the Dean, Academic Affairs, SPMVV, Tirupati-517 502 on or before 20.3.2006. RESET-2005 will be conducted on 26.4.2006 at Tirupati.

Particulars of Entrance Test
Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam Research Entrance Test (SPMVV RESET 2005) will be held on 26.04.2006 at 10.00 a.m. at Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam, Tirupati. Only for Womens Studies, the test will be at 2.00 p.m. on 26.04.2006.This Research Entrance Test is common for both M.Phil. and Ph.D. programmes in the concerned discipline.
The test will be of 3 hours duration for 100 marks. The students have to answer five essay type questions out of seven. For Computer Science and Business Management the test duration will be 11/2 hours (Objective Type Questions).
